this is a great mod.. but im having a real problem playing it.
sometimes people wont craft eggs, some eggs produce things others than it states (such as how make a worker drone and it made a sentient)

I think I might know whats up. I'm going to make an update to the 1.3 version of Mantodeans C+E. I'm not sure it will fix the current pawns but it should fix any subsequent pawns.

Let me know what happens either here or in the Mantodeans C+E mod page.

Short version: I think I mislabeled the Lifestagedef compared to the def in the race file.

I'm having the same issue as other people here, hatched mantodeans are not aging properly. I have 4 larvae all way over the expected growth time. My oldest larvae is around 2 quadrums old and it only has 0.5% growth completed... I am using the continued and expanded version, so i'm not sure if this is the cause of the issue.

It also works for Mantodeans Continued And Expanded. Would it be possible to adjust the prerequisites for the new version? I think people prefer to use the new one instead of the old one anyway.

Are you using Mantodeans Continued And Expanded by chance? Depending on load order the race def may have been using either smiths or mine. I have updated mine a moment ago so that should not be a problem if that is the case.

Try letting rimworld do a download and see if its still persisting.

mantodeans still take years to develop. ive had several hatch and theyre all over a quadrum old without becoming adults. is there a conflict with the royalty DLC?

Would it be possible to have the hatched mantodean colonists achieve maturity in a few days after hatching? As it stands they're largely useless for over a decade in-game.

Put this mod after the Continued and Expanded version and it will work.

@smith589 I wanted to let you know that Sig is letting me take over the Mantodean Insectoid Race mod going forward, so I've made a new version of it with my two submods, Mantodean Simple Weapons and Mantodean Simple Buildings, built in. I have some ideas about adding onto your own mod as well and wanted to reach out. Would you mind adding me as a friend so I can toss you my ideas and see what you think?

Absolutely love how much your mod adds to Mantodeans and I never play without it! Very thankful you made this.

i just thought of something cool, some randomly generated mantodeans as well as all mantodeans evolved from blockers should have the "mantodean blocker" childhood instead of larva, giving them a boost to melee skill

Seems that was steam's "not a bug".
Requirement to accept new rules update stopped mod.

I remember them using Insect jelly in 1.2, but with the 1.3 it hadn't been using it. Thanks for the fix!

Don't know if it was a glitch with steam or not but your mod was gone for me for a few days. Glad to see its back!

Rburn should use manto jelly in 1.3, insect jelly for earlyer rimworld if i remember correctly.
Do mantodeans use mantojelly in 1.2 and earlyer too?

oh i jist thinkin, what if there was a simple evolution mechanic like research new type of Mantodean race that eggs you can craft. Like Space ones that resiliant to conditions of vaccum or Archotech ones. How hard to make that addon to this mod you think guys? I love mantodeans so much but transfer they minds in human bodies to conqer space every time is kinda lame.

They should be young in 1 day, and adult in 4 days.
At least, what i set for 1.1 and 1.3 versions.
Unfortunately, i couldn't understand patching in rimworld mods, so had to replace race file as a whole.
So, missing file for 1.2 version, that likely has default values of Mantodean race, which i can't fix without outside help currently.

How long do the sentient Mantodeans in the Larva stage take to advance to adulthood? I have had them survive 1year+ and remain near-useless.

hello, i am playing this mod and have a few questions to ask. i have thoroughly enjoyed it and i thank you for making this mod, however i'm wondering if i could set it so the mantodeans eat kibble sooner before they get into a starving stage. also, regarding the mantodean egg that creates mantodean pawns, do they eventually age up and get a mantodean type or is there somw way i could influince this? i know in vanilla rimworld as they age up they dont get their adult hood bonus. anyways to conclude i very much enjoy this mod and hope you are doing well.

That reserch gain jelly should work now.
3 recipes for it - 2 hearts, or 4 natural bodyparts, or 2 corpses.

Updated to use new mantodean jelly instead of insect one.
Updated to correct folders for 1.3.
Worked at quick test. Didn't have time for detailed test.

Hello I'm on 1.3 and this mod will not load. The Mantodean race will load and work properly but this one will not take effect.

It does not break things but with it loaded the log complains about a mismatched version.

could you add more types of Mantodean based off of more Bugs? such as more ants like the bullet ant so the could be good at melee but bad at shooting and more likely to have the brawler trait. Then there could be Trapdoor spider-types with a ability to burrow to ambush or to gain some time to recover from a fight?

you will likely need to search in original mod, by names of larva stages from Race_Mantodean.xml.

in an attempt to learn how to mod things i was messing around in the files and set a mantodean pawn to a smaller size. at 1st this worked till i made a baby and the baby grew to be much larger then the other pawns till it got to adult and suddenly shrunk down to match its brothers??
where can i find the part that controls the baby sizes?

Have you looked into incorporating Advanced Animal frameworks into the mod, so the other castes can have specific work they can do? Like Mantscarab can retain the hauling, and maybe building. The Herb eater could be able to cut trees (explanation could be they cut down trees to get to have easy access to leaves) and the Warblocker could do mining. The mod maker Ogliss has an updated version that they incorporated into the Adeptus Mechanicus playable Orks mod if you want to check it out and get in touch with them! Would def flesh out the hive gameplay more

It would be cool if the queen could use the graphics of the queen from Vanilla Factions Expanded - Insectoids. Right now it just kinda looks like some sort of blob rather then an insect. Maybe as a sub mod?
Well anyway i love your mod and have had lots of fun playing with it. Be great to see it expanded in the future

Separating from storage - possible, just forbid fertilized eggs (or just those types of eggs in freezer's storage).
Forbidding to eat eggs - only if limit animals current zone to forbid visiting eggs storage.

also the eggs get ruined by refrigeration so is there a way to separate them from other storage?

Thanks figured that out is there a way to stop drones and queens from eating the eggs there is plenty of jelly but they keep going for the eggs

Crafting 4, not cooking.
You need different skills to make jelly and to work on eggs.
