Hm. That's unfortunate. The decks below the hangar are connected to each other iirc. I might take a look at that though, see if I can resolve the pressurization issue.

I've been tinkering with the lower decks - Hanger and below, and noticed I can't get the decks below the hanger to pressurize independent of the hanger - If the big door is open, those decks vent. The one just below is because of the use of blast doors and a connector, I think, but the floor below that one shouldn't be connected.

I really ought to fix the screenshots and thumbnail on this. Just way too dark.

Ah. Yeah, the Epstein drive is pretty powerful. From my own brief experiments, it fits relatively well and isn't too difficult to attach. And thanks again. This design is one of my person favorites from my fleet.
doom_to_you 24 MAY 2020 a las 18:58
My mistake, I fudged my numbers. With the Epstein drive, the ship accelerates at 14 g, not 1.4 (0-100 in 7 seconds). The lighter version accelerates at ~29 g (0-100 in 3.47 seconds). As you say, despite some vital engine components which somewhat impeded progress, the engine fits perfectly and is wonderfully simple to mount. Splendid work.

Thanks! It is about the right size for the Epstein drive, but the specific engine design isn't as friendly to it as others. Some of my other ships, like the Siren, Kirin, and a few others all have the same base engine design, which is the exact size of the Epstein, making it very easy to mount it, albeit still with a bit of gutting.

After modding the ship with non-standard weaponry, I thought this ship may be the right size at last to integrate the Epstein drive mod... It fits, though the back half of the ship has to be gutted, and I got acceleration of ~1.3 g. Will do the same for the light version and see how fast it can go. Beautiful ship, man. Just beautiful.

Metric Tons.
doom_to_you 23 MAY 2020 a las 15:12
Are those tons or tonnes?
Papple2  [autor] 20 MAR 2020 a las 11:20
Realized that the forward rockets weren't conveyered in either version of this ship... whoops.
Papple2  [autor] 18 MAR 2020 a las 12:28
Thanks @Risen Phoenix! That's not too surprising. The ship should have just about 1g of acceleration when empty. It is heavy armor, so atmo isn't as much of a realistic possibility. If that's desired, I'd recommend the original version, which is half the weight, so twice the acceleration.
Risen Phoenix 18 MAR 2020 a las 11:06
For anyone wondering, did a bit of testing of it in creative on earth-like planet and it'll need a bit of help to get into the heavens, I tacked about a dozen large atmo on it and it went up happily without cargo, but that's the limit of my testing. Great craft to bimble about in, lovely work, wouldn't rate it for active atmospheric use in this configuration, but popping large atmo to get it up then cutting them off and using a shuttle for away missions out of the tardis like, physics defying hangar bay, is likely your golden situation.

Papple, if you read this, thanks for the work. It's brilliant.

Fantastic build papple!

I'm finding myself quite perplexed by the large number of negative ratings on this design. As of yet, it would seem that none of those who have done so have elected to inform me what the issue is, leaving me unable to correct the problem.
Papple2  [autor] 15 MAR 2020 a las 17:30
I haven't tested it extensively in atmosphere. I would recommend putting it in orbit, unless you're on a low g planet. With the main engine, it should be able to resist low gravity, but if you load stuff into the inventory, it will be less capable in that regard. I did put parachutes on it for emergency cases.
The original version might work better if you want something more atmo capable. That one can get off any planet relatively easily. That's the difference between light and heavy armor though.

I'm about to start work on this on a very small survival server (there's 10 of us roughly) run by my friends.
Is this capable of atmospheric flight, or do i need to construct it in orbit?

Thanks @toughbeard

Good looking ship and Red / Dark Grey is one of my favorite color combos. Well done m8.

I'm interested to hear the feedback. I don't usually build heavy armor ships this small. The Eridania seemed able to support the weight though.
Taidyr 12 MAR 2020 a las 3:24
The original Eridania has grown on me very fast. Didn't have the time to take this one for a spin yet, but I'm very excited to see how it will perform!
Papple2  [autor] 10 MAR 2020 a las 17:36
Its nice to hear that they work for you. Means I'm doing something right, lol. I really appreciate it.
Gadsden 10 MAR 2020 a las 17:30
Your designs are absolutely fantastic. I've subbed to a lot of them and really enjoy using them. Thanks for all your hard work on these ships (Expanse themed especially) it is really appreciated!
Rhea.licious 10 MAR 2020 a las 17:22
True.
Papple2  [autor] 10 MAR 2020 a las 16:55
Glad you like it. I know its a bit dark inside, but haven't seen much reason to change it. You could always turn up the lights or even repaint it.
Rhea.licious 10 MAR 2020 a las 0:04
Beautiful! However, I do wish that the interiors weren't so dark.
