@Nobudi None of the cosmetics in this mod are supposed to occupy standard body part slots, it adds purely cosmetic crown and tail slots that do not affect or preclude the use of any other implants. Character Editor is not playing nicely with this mod, though, and attempts to put the ears into the actual ear slot, which is a problem I haven't been able to solve yet. :(

@Nobudi They don't actually take up the ear slot. They take up the "left/right crown" slot if I remember right.

Dang, using the cosmetic ears takes up the ear slot, so I can't put in SOS2's archotech ears. Anyone know a workaround?

@Diamond well the comics (067) mention the ears as being made out of artificial muscle with synthetic skin and fur, so it makes sense why it'd use synthread to produce the parts imo

Why does it cost synthread to produce the parts? It's unreasonably rare. Wouldn't it be more sensible to be able to use natural furs and wools to make animal ears and tails?

Adding this mod into an existing save removes any archotech body parts, and the jaws of some humans for some reason
Also humans missing both legs due to them being removed by this mod seem to be able to walk, but at a very slow pace

Compatibility issue note: the various ear modifications cannot be added to pawns using the Character Editor mod. The editor allows them to be added to the ear slot, but this is not the correct location for them to be fitted so they won't show up on the character model, and if removed will remove that pawn's actual ear, reducing their hearing.

No idea if this will be considered but would getting cosmetics such as wings ever be something on the table for this mod? Perhaps some draconic looking things so we can get dragon girls about?

I'm having an issue where I get a greyed out tooltip when I try to operate on a pawn and it says "Cannot implant Maine Coon cat tail (tail bone): Need material, even though I already have the tail ready.

Normal human pawn.

Amazing mod could not love it more, yet I would like to recomend making it possible to implant ears and horns at the same time without one erasing the other. Maybe also adding cow horns or ears since it´s the cow year.

Cosmetics don't seem to show up when installed on on pawns from the Astoriel race mod, and there doesn't seem to be a patch for it on the workshop either. Anyone know how to go about patching it?

I was able to add them via hediffs. Thank you. It sucks that Character edit is having issues, as I unfortunately cannot use Prepare carefully due to it conflicting with another mod. Adding via Hediff at the start of my colony will do well enough for now though. Again, thank you.

@Kyrathor Sinclaire Character Editor has unfortunately been having some issues with bionics in general, much less modded body parts. It's unfortunately nothing I have control over. :(

Prepare Carefully seems to work properly with Cosmetics, and you can also apply the hediffs via dev mode as well.

I'm just running the basic stuff needed to make this work, and Char edit, and I'm getting tails showing up, but not ears. I'm not sure what's going on.

I figured it out, it was the children and pregnancy mod, i had to disable the lifecycle option for humans to get the ears to show up.

Has anyone successfully patched another alien race to use this? Been tinkering with adding it to Androids without success, looking for tips.

@Syliss I have not had any issues with the cosmetics not appearing at all, but I just noticed today that a Humanoid Alien Races update has caused a lot of mods' appearance addons to appear shrunken. Hopefully it will be figured out soon. :)

@`*Greed*` By default, Eccentric Cosmetics only works on normal humans. I hear there is a patch that makes them work with androids, though, so make sure to check it out on Workshop. :)

@vhaeryl - Belated answer, but thanks for the report! I've noticed the issue myself, along with several other issues in Character Editor. I will attempt to file a report with them and see if there's anything I can do to help fix it, but I have a feeling it's not anything I can directly do anything about.

when i first downloaded the mod the appearance of the cosmetic items worked just fine, but now i cant get any of them to visibly show when the items are attached to a pawn and im not getting any red errors about it.

Got some ears installed on an android and they don't show up, thought it was load order but this is directly below humanoid races near the very top.

For some resion this mod messes up my planet generation.

idk how and idk why

when i enable the mod. and try to create a new world and when i click the "generate world button" it just pops back up the world edit screan without generateing a world

disableing the mod fixed the issue


other than that this is a really good mod! i enjoyed the i had with it:steamhappy:
