@Costume, yes it is Harves Knife that breaks it. No idea why, the instant pick for Caitlin is jsut a tag that adds/removes from char on form change.

Recommending using Scythe mod instead:

It is not breaking anything and has same functionality (also recommend to disable aoe dmg in settings and set aoe harvest to half turf, so it is more vanilla-like balanced).

(we did add 3 more mods on the next go, which I suppose made instant pickup not work anymore, those mods are: Harvest Knife, Refuelable Morning Star, Durability Tweaks [Japanese?])

Personally as a critique I prefer the zoom lifestyle above any instant-treecut instant-rockmining (occasional instant collection that sometimes works) that could be offered, I like much more in the original: that the map can't be accessed either so you, personally, IRL have to try remembering where anything is, getting lost because no map is the most immersed experience I think ive ever had in any game especially on the big map im playing now ^,,,^.

Watering it down kind of kills the whole concept for me, especially that she becomes too slow to forage and sustain on that, just kind of seems strange.

But Im so glad the original hat-fix one exists and still works as of 2023.

@Costume, changing forms is much more easier so that should balance. But yea, nerfed becasue I dint want for her to run across the map with no speed items/beefalo all the time.

Would argue, regarding speed form:

You have nerfed her so badly, that if you don't have hoardes of food already you outright cant use her in this form because she's too slow.

@LeadAndBlood, works fine for me, you must have some conflicting mods.
