Why isn't this in the base game yet?
SrslyTony 15 sept. la 10:59
Subscribing even though my pawns stockpile all their corpses outside, then act surprised when their pleasant stroll reeks. It's for the new save file lol. Thanks for making this!
Cyber Witch ~ 7 aug. la 3:40
pawns are real gamers. They hate touching grass

@Avarus propably because you're using Rimpy in 2025. Its long has been abandoned and its database was last "updated" in 2023. Use a real software like Rimsort or atleast use the Vanilla sorting system because that one works better.
girk 14 iul. la 0:31
how come this isnt in vanilla. pawn shouldnt hate looking at soils

You're the bomb dot com, Meltup

@GreedBC
No idea. But it shouldn't matter. The mod doesn't add anything new, it only does patching.
Avarus 19 iun. la 17:11
The mod is being sorted by Rimpy between Core and the DLCs. Any idea why?

@Big Head Zach
yeah, 1.6 feels much better now. That said, I updated the tags for 1.6 and once the new DLC releases, I will go over all the new additions :LIS_poker_face:
Big Head Zach 14 iun. la 9:01
1.6 is only fixing beauty for dirt, sand, and rubble outdoors, so I imagine this mod is still quite useful if you want to incorporate overall more appreciation of nature.
Big Cheese 29 nov. 2024 la 14:21
all of the pawns are canonically basement dwellers so they despise nature and want to play League of Legends instead
Taimoose ™ 19 mai 2024 la 12:15
hi can you add compatibility for regrowth boiling hot springs
shandogthecat 16 apr. 2024 la 23:24
Thank you so much for the 1.5 update!
Lucifer 15 apr. 2024 la 8:25
It's my mod causing the issue. Quick and dirty fix is to just require mine to load first, I'll look at implementing some checks to prevent this in the future.

Honestly the feature probably shouldn't even be part of the mod but it's from the original so I keep it.
Meltup  [autor] 15 apr. 2024 la 0:19
@Redphoenix @Chemmech
Yeah, that error means another mod adds Beauty value to the Filth_Sand.

I made a lot of checks to not cause incompatibility if my patching happens at the end. However, if my patching happens first, and then another mod tries to add Beauty without a proper check... it will cause an error. I can't fix it on my end - the author of another mod needs to add a proper check on their end. Or you can move my mod to the end of the load order :LIS_butterfly:
Chemmech 14 apr. 2024 la 11:38
I am also getting said error, but my GitHub verification email wont send so I will just +1 Redphoenix here.

EDIT: Moving the mod to the end of the load order fixed it for me.

Updated for Rimworld 1.5

Changes:
- fixed outdoor beauty for Marshy Terrain
- added Ideology patch
- added Anomaly patch
- severely reduced ugliness of the sand, rock and slag rubble (pawns won't mind it too much now, especially if it is outdoors)
Nicknoob243 11 apr. 2024 la 10:07
I released an unofficial update for now, will remove it when this is updated
Meltup  [autor] 8 apr. 2024 la 21:28
@Suit
Pretty high odds. I am considering to play at least a little bit of Rimworld on 1.5 release and gonna update some of my mods with that :LIS_poker_face:

@Deadmano
Thanks for pointing that out. I will fix it with the next mod update!
Suit Lass 1 apr. 2024 la 19:32
Odds of this being updated for 1.5?
Deadmano 21 mart. 2024 la 20:08
Heya, thanks for the mod! I just wanted to find out if the MarshyTerrain Def [i.imgur.com] was missing a BeautyOutdoors target in your "OutdoorsCore_Patch.xml"? You seem to be overwriting just Beauty twice, first at -3 and then at -1.
Meltup  [autor] 6 oct. 2023 la 12:17
@Schmalt
No .dll files. Only xml patching
Schmalt 13 sept. 2023 la 0:42
I want to add this to my open world game, is there a .dll file, i cant seem to find one?
Meltup  [autor] 2 aug. 2023 la 12:53
@ELVISLIVES
This mod modifies outdoor beauty stat to improve it. Long-long time ago the game didn't have outdoor beauty stat at all, and the main goal of this mod was to fix pawns thinking that nature is ugly. Then later outdoor beauty was added by developers to fix the issue, but still outdoor beauty is a little bit too weak if you ask me. So this mod improves it now.
ELVISLIVES 1 aug. 2023 la 4:40
Does this mod add the outdoor beauty stat? Why are there 2 different stats? I am using dragons descent and it has a plant called jewel berries. The stats say beauty 14, outdoor beauty 1. Outdoors, when using the beauty overlay, the flower has a beauty of 1. The mod def does not have a value for outdoor beauty for this plant, so it appears to default to 1. Is this caused by this mod because dragons descent isn't patched in?

Thinking marshes are beautiful is absurd. Smh
Tritan20 29 iul. 2023 la 19:59
@tamtitam
I've stayed in almost every state and briefly used to live in Florida. Swamps and marshes were visually unappealing, smelled very bad had a deep seated fear of alligators.
tamtitam 6 iul. 2023 la 7:21
Marshes are beautifull. They are popular destinations for hikers and nature-lovers.
-6 for marshes is absurd...
Spark7979 7 iun. 2023 la 6:57
I can understand why pawns don't appreciate the beauty of nature. It's hard to when you're in a world full of killer machines, manhunting packs of animals and pirates with machine guns. Staying alive takes precedent over taking in the views.

Inadvertently because of this mod my outdoors yard becomes a somewhat impressive dining room.
Meltup  [autor] 22 dec. 2022 la 18:46
@Gitgudm9
Hello, glad to hear that you are enjoying the mod! Regarding the windows mod - there are several of those in the workshop, but I have no idea about their inner mechanics. Sadly, if their calculation no longer works then something has broken on their side. I could take a look, but I would have no idea where to even start. My advice would be to post on their workshop page about the problem :LIS_poker_face:
Gitgudm9 22 dec. 2022 la 18:26
Hello there - love your mod! It's an essential part of any playthrough for me.

I noticed recently that the outdoors beauty calculation no longer works for the Windows mod. Normally, the outdoors beauty values should get summed up by the window and contribute to the beauty of the room, but that function is no longer present.

I was wondering if that's something you were planning to (or had any ability) to fix. Thanks!
Catts 24 nov. 2022 la 22:38
Great mod thank you, also want to echo the sentiment against mud and marsh being so strongly "ugly" to pawns, unless it's intended to simulate a fear of mosquitoes or something.
Squaul 23 nov. 2022 la 18:04
I still think that in general the nature is beautiful aproach is better cause it's more realistic even tho "broken" eventualy in a game.

Also i think the rafflesia shouldn't put a straight minus it should more a dynamic effect like being close it become negative or give a debuff but from afar it give a buff and it's positive ?

For mud and even marsh too i think it very subjective but 100% not fair to say it's a straight up negative make no sense.
Maybe kinda like for the rafflesia make it so it's positive but if you stay too long in it or struggle in it you get malus or ti become negative ?

also i start going of the mod lenght but would make sense that some pawn like or love and some don't or doesn't care too.
But in general rare are the thing in nature to be really that repulsive for real.
Amber Icon 28 oct. 2022 la 5:30
Yup. You right. Added by ReGrowth: Core. Sorry. Haha. I just assumed it was vanilla.
Amber Icon 28 oct. 2022 la 5:28
@meltup... perhaps it was added by a mod. I didn't even consider it to be honest. I'll check and get back to you.
Meltup  [autor] 27 oct. 2022 la 18:38
@Amber Icon
Oh, there is leaf litter in Vanilla now? NICE :nepnep: Could you tell me how it is called exactly and how it appears. I have been checking files but didn't find it.
Amber Icon 27 oct. 2022 la 16:32
I don't know if it's been changed, but would it be possible for you to add leaf litter to this? It is extremely annoying that my amazing garden is deemed ugly because of a few piles of leaves... in the woods... in the fall...
stalinui 21 oct. 2022 la 19:07
с модом, появилась бесконечная загрузка игры
Kierstal Arzen 20 oct. 2022 la 15:36
Thank you for clearing that up, it makes way more sense now why it works the way that it does. Not really a problem for me, I was only curious :) Thank you for this!
Meltup  [autor] 20 oct. 2022 la 13:22
@Kierstal Arzen
The big problem is room detection. Rimworld considers any enclosed space to be a 'room" so... outdoor room is possible but if it is inside walls. But then beauty is calculated for it as a whole. There is no better approach, sadly.
Miguel V-DF 19 oct. 2022 la 11:03
@Kierstal Arzen the feature you ask is way more complicated than what this mod does. I don't know if it's possible to do it, as I am 99% sure that rooms need to be indoors. but moodlets due to the presence of a item/building, that can be done. If Meltup doesn't interest in making it, you can always preach it around on the mod ideas channels on discord servers and other forums.
Kierstal Arzen 17 oct. 2022 la 12:02
I just started playing the 1.4 unstable but finding this mod makes me want to go back to 1.3 until Biotech comes out. I wonder if it's possible to make outdoor "rooms" with this mod? For example if I put a dining table outside in a particularly beautiful area could the pawns get a "impressive dining room" moodlet? Or "impressive rec room" if they play horseshoes in a pretty outdoor space?
Nameless 8 oct. 2022 la 16:55
Enormous thank you and huge respect, @Meltup!
Meltup  [autor] 8 oct. 2022 la 16:45
@Nameless
Thank you for your kind words :LIS_pixel_heart:

I am indeed planning to get the new DLC and update my mods for 1.4 :yavannawink: Well, at least, all the mods that I have updated for 1.3 (there are a few old projects of mine that got stuck on 1.1 and 1.2, and they are going to be left on a back burner).

Gonna try and update before the official release of 1.4 but no promises since I have been very busy with irl stuff.
Nameless 8 oct. 2022 la 16:28
Hi @Meltup, many thanks to you for such an amazing mod! Do you have any plans updating for 1.4 and the new DLC?
Meltup  [autor] 8 aug. 2022 la 12:50
@hzwb348153
No, it would require me to create an interface for players to choose each value. While it is possible to do, it adds quite a hassle to update the mod if any changes are introduced. You can download the mod files and tweak it there though :noire:
HAZRAD 3 aug. 2022 la 19:20
Hey, is it possible, using this mod, to set the beauty value for each object? For example, i want to set chunks to -4 instead of -1, is it possible to choose a value that i want?
