Vents still 100% flammability
Unon  [ophavsmand] 24. juli kl. 18:05
It <should>? As long as it's made out of a metal, if it doesn't. I <might> make it so? :D (I know some mods let you make vents out of wood, where this wouldn't work.)
Mrpugglez 24. juli kl. 17:44
does this make Vents Fireproof?
Shiori 24. juli kl. 3:57
thank you for letting me know, ill be using this! <3
Unon  [ophavsmand] 24. juli kl. 3:31
it should effect anything that is... a metal?
Shiori 22. juli kl. 22:26
does this only effect built walls/buildings ect. or will it effect pre-refined metals as well, such as mined ore that has yet to be smelted
Unon  [ophavsmand] 21. juli kl. 18:41
@Carrotmaster52 GRAV FUEL CANT MELT STEEL EXTERIOR WALLS
Carrotmaster52 20. juli kl. 9:35
Jet Fuel Can't Melt Steel Beams!!!!
Dealer Mangan 14. juli kl. 20:05
@VekxraTV i'm thinking at this point Tynan isn't changing this in vanilla as a joke
VelxraTV 4. juli kl. 19:06
it just show tynan doesnt really care about the base game and/or how the gameplay should be with other DLCs working together.

solid mod, have loved it all these years. thank you for keeping it with the times!
GreenLynx 3. juli kl. 12:33
The reason this isn't vanilla is due to legacy reasons - used to be that steel was basically the only real building material (in the early game), and tynan wanted fire to be a real threat, so... It's dumb these days but idk
Heckerpecker 1. juli kl. 5:39
Does anyone know why this isn't vanilla? Have any of you seen your steelpan start burning because it was on a gas stove?
andi.999 22. juni kl. 22:59
Great, thanks for the answer. Then i'll hope for the best and just gonna try it. should work i think.
Unon  [ophavsmand] 22. juni kl. 11:07
As long as it kind of "inherits" the material properties, it should just make sure it's not flammable as well, sometimes mod developers are weird though, and it's inspecific.
andi.999 22. juni kl. 5:59
wait, so is being flammable a property of the material? So does this stop all steel structures from burning or does this only prevent steel walls from burning? would this also prevent fire on the barbed wire i use from a mod?
Unon  [ophavsmand] 15. juni kl. 6:20
Updated for 1.6 :Duckie:
Alpha 14. juni kl. 11:49
1.6 please what the fuck is vanilla doing burning steel :DSTskull:
MANHOLER 16. maj kl. 18:40
@Tenchi That's true, but steel melting point is around 1450C, while an ordinary fire maximum heat is 600C. So it's impossible for the raider to light up my steel storage full of gasoline :0face::0face::0face:
Tenchi 5. apr. kl. 15:59
All metals are flammable if you try hard enough! No, seriously, with the right chemical you can set asbestos on fire...
Eggbert 11. dec. 2024 kl. 13:28
imo bioferrite is a flammable or even explosive material even though its metallic. Remember, thermite is a combination of several powdered metals.
Unon  [ophavsmand] 16. okt. 2024 kl. 3:31
Finally did some rewriting (idk, its just cooler) but I also added Cupro's Alloys (Continued), and the new 1.5 version of Expanded Materials - Metals. . .

I also made the Bioferrite patch actually work, don't judge me.
whenwrašk 28. sep. 2024 kl. 11:30
@jaeger972
bioferrite is partially organic, it's supposed to be flammable.
Tattered Ribbon 3. sep. 2024 kl. 21:29
Could you add [Cupro's alloys (Continued)] by Mlie to this mod? Feels weird when steel doesn't burn, but then copper does.
jaeger972 23. aug. 2024 kl. 5:38
could you add bioferrite to this mod?
Frayo 29. juni 2024 kl. 23:24
Could you please add metal materials added by Cupro's Alloys (Continued)? That would be fantastic if you find the time.
RedMattis 20. maj 2024 kl. 4:12
Kudos for this mod actually doing what the mod says it does.

The other mod (Metal doesn't burn) also doubles the hitpoints of anything made out of steel (including mini-turrets, etc.) which is kind of an outrageous thing for the authors of that mod to not even mention.
Torkkar 5. maj 2024 kl. 4:25
sounds like Gitsum has the bug caused by the 1.5 fork of SRTS
Unon  [ophavsmand] 3. maj 2024 kl. 9:50
My mod doesn't touch such factors.
Gitsum 29. apr. 2024 kl. 20:27
Hey,

For some reason this mod causes Bulk Goods orbital trader to have no money nor items to sell.

Only thought to why it happens is that it modifies items sold as mini-fied objects.

Can someone corroborate or replicate this?
Unon  [ophavsmand] 13. apr. 2024 kl. 22:22
Shouldn't be for the most part, and if it's still flammable, it might be because of it's other uses overriding the base one, which isn't exactly in the scope of this mod to completely redefine that spoiler metal.
Monarch 13. apr. 2024 kl. 20:56
i decommented the spoiler metal but its still flamable mid save

Updated to 1.5,

Let me know if something is requiring a fix. There is a commented out Anomaly Spoiler: Bioferrite patch that can be re-enabled in the metal_patch.xml in /1.5/
LemonGuy 11. apr. 2024 kl. 11:27
My dude, i need a new version. Burnig metal is shit
Denjin09 2. apr. 2024 kl. 5:41
as far as i know the only mod that declares modded metal as non flammable and i hope it gets an update for the official 1.5 version i love this mod :D
Ironpanther617 16. jan. 2024 kl. 14:33
does this affect mechanoids? I swear they started burning but i forgot to be running this mod. Wondering if~
Greyskye 9. juni 2023 kl. 13:22
I was very surprised in my first playthrough when some idiot lit one of my steel walls on fire. Seriously, show me that lighter.
Zanklev™ 28. maj 2023 kl. 14:34
Could you possibly patch cheap materials 2.0? That'd be awesome.
StarlightSovereign 24. apr. 2023 kl. 21:32
I started to get annoyed that my mods that do similar things (which way pre-date all the noted Similar Mods) were not listed then I realized its because mine don't make them all totally non-flammable. They change the flammability chance based on their real-world flammability vs the stated heat ratings of Rimworld fires. So I guess fair enough. But I've been keeping those mods updated since A 17 XD So my initial reaction was "hey what about mine?" :winter2019joyfultearsyul:
darktoes 22. apr. 2023 kl. 18:40
hottt3 26. jan. 2023 kl. 22:57
Thanks for the mod! Could you please add an option to configure settings. (Because in my opinion power conduits/switches should not be fireproof). Thanks again)
Egregore 11. jan. 2023 kl. 14:59
Patch 1.8.0: Metal walls are no longer coated in magnesium paint
Scarlytte 28. nov. 2022 kl. 14:11
hey love this mod, could you add stone walls and embrasures to it? it's so stupid how they burn
TheSquidThatDid 19. nov. 2022 kl. 12:56
jet fuel
[OTG] crowwalker 3. nov. 2022 kl. 5:12
Thank you. For some reason I never thought to look for a mod that stopped steel from burning, it was always a silly thing to me.. Yes, steel can burn, anything can if you heat get it hot enough. If you enemy is throw something at you that is hot enough to spontaneously combust steel you should be running. Not if I can get someone to fix how temps working under ground. Temps at 6 feet of 1.8 meters underground is constant it will stay at 55 f / 12.8 C it does not matter what the temp is at the surface. Yes if you get close to the core it will be hotter but Rimworld does not have you mine down. If you have overhead mountain the temp should be constant.
Unon  [ophavsmand] 16. okt. 2022 kl. 20:56
@Dragonfly I get it, but it's made out of steel. :happymrdeath: At least in Vanilla, so my internal ruling applies to some degree.
Montu 16. okt. 2022 kl. 15:44
But, doesn't really matter, since it's more of a convenience thing to not have to rebuild conduits and switches after a fire.
Montu 16. okt. 2022 kl. 15:44
I think power conduits and switches would be flammable, if anything they'd be extremely flammable. That's how electrical fires start all the time irl
Unon  [ophavsmand] 15. okt. 2022 kl. 0:45
So I finally updated it to Rimworld 1,4 and I don't have Biotech so I don't know whats different yet there, but yeah. Also made Power Conduits and Power Switches not flammable because I remember someone asking me that.
. . . And Medieval Overhaul's Iron, @Caramel (Sorry for the long wait.)
Caramel 15. sep. 2022 kl. 17:49
Support for iron from Medieval Overhaul?
ID is DankPyon_IronIngot, it work for me
