@Musharaf Yeah because the roads are an oddball width some of the graphical overlays (education, traffic) don't work. But it's just a display issue, the roads work!

With Node Controller and Network Multitool building these is considerably faster, accurate, and easier. For anyone using them: Build the canal where you want it first, then use the parallel network tool (Network Multitool) to create the curbside roads with an offset of 16m and elevation of +0.2m. Whenever the canal bends (because you're an interesting person and do things other than 90-degree angles...right?), use Node Controller to adjust the offset of both ends of the curbside road's bending node until it lines-up. ... Now if I could just get this to reach the ocean without being a mess.

Sadly enough I can't use bridges from this pack, they just don't want to be set on a groun level as in the screenshots :(

@teowens Yes I believe the canalside road doesn't work for Left Hand Traffic. Sorry! But if you subscribe to More Dutch Canal roads, that has a two way road with the exact same width that will work fine.

Hey Epic, really beautiful roads and canals, thank you! I am in Australia and using the left hand feature and noticed cars driving through the trees and benches. I suppose these roads are built for left hand driving in Cities? It's understandable but wondering if there is a fix for it? cheers!!!

@yawnyawns Canalside road has zoning. There is a little gap between the road and the grid, because the road is less than 16m wide. But if you have no zoning at all the problem is on your end.

Ok, I've published a tiny update to the canal. Transitions to the vanilla canals and when the canal ends because of the terrain slope will look slightly different. I don't think this should break anyone's city but lodge your complaints here if it does.

Great work @Epic Lurker. Thank you so much for this Canals and roads. I have created for my local usage a Version of the Bridge Road w/o handrails and also one with colorable Asphalt. And i'm working on a third retextureing. Would it be okay for you If i Release them in the Workshop? Of course with a Link to your Great Work!

Beautiful! So much better then the vanilla "plain" canals. I just upgraded all of them in my city. That obviously caused 20.000 deaths through flooding, but I won't hold that against you ;-).

i used the canals extensively in my last city, but notice that none of the existing brick streets matches the decals you used. Would be so great if you could also add a regular (side) street with small sidewalks to the set, to recreate a real Dutch "binnenstad" feeling :)

My goodness, these are incredible! I try to be conservative with my usage of RAM but these are genuinely beautiful, this might just be a problem only I have (or a problem caused by the latest DLC), but the trees do appear to be misplaced compared to the screenshots, does anyone else have this issue?
Actually just read comments below while writing this and it appears to be because my current city is left-hand drive, well I'll have to quickly find a way to change that, and again, this is awesome, thanks.

@Karlstanza I didn't test with left hand drive, it was hard enough getting things to work for right hand drive! Height too high errors are annoying and the main reason why I recommend putting in the roads before the canals.

These canal roads are wicked. some other tips; you can use 8 units of space for the wide canals. and if you get height too high errors then Tiny Segments stopped that for me https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1586027591 .. I use move it with tiny segs to draw it before the canal and over the top then adjust it and delete the first segment and drag the last node to the end of the canal, let's me have nice curvy or non-straight canals (mostly straight mind). also, i tried using in left-hand traffic since I'm making British style place and it seems the cars will drive on the side with trees and path, not in the white lines, I haven't tried it but it looked that way from TM:PE lane selector, so I just set them all as no vehicles. I second the decal suggestion just for making little plazas that come off the canal roads. but ja, dit asset is baie goed my vriende. Dankie!
