I think it would look better if the math faded in and out and moved outwards in random directions from the center, perhaps rotating slightly. I think this would give it the illusion of thinking, kindof like question marks moving about above someones head. Otherwise this is a fantastic idea.

i was trying to go specifically for the orbiting digits with a decent-looking (accurate!) centerpiece with various formulae, equations and identities. focus was always a nice maths effect.

I think this one is a bit more distinct than the other one. Mainly because you can see that there are different symbols and stuff.
