@Potatoes and Tomatoes ... It's possible this does not work with LWotC . I've been killing civilians left and right, and my soldiers are not feeling any remorse (ie. guilt).

I just blew up a cluster of 3 standing in the middle of a pod of Advent. I can't pass up an opportunity to rocket-bomb such a vulnerable group. What happens? Casualties!

...but nobody feels "guilty" about it.

Thanks!
Dragon32 23. feb. 2024 kl. 12:20
@Mask
Not that I've noticed.

Does this mod make a conflict with Civillians Revamped?
Vanzgars 30. jan. 2024 kl. 11:05
As a war criminal, this mods offends me deeply.
G Dunn 18. juni 2023 kl. 9:00
Wait so am I the only one who waits for them to expose themselves
DigitalDevil6969 8. aug. 2022 kl. 15:29
> respect civillians
No.
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 25. mar. 2022 kl. 9:38
Not supported, but i dont see why not.
Potatoes and Tomatoes 24. mar. 2022 kl. 23:53
lwotc?
Der_Flower 26. nov. 2021 kl. 13:04
Okay, thanks!
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 26. nov. 2021 kl. 12:09
Yes, but do not enable during tactical.
Der_Flower 26. nov. 2021 kl. 11:15
It is safe for the mid-campaign?
Raisen 10. aug. 2021 kl. 20:38
Honestly i feel a little "unfair" if you had "A Better Chosen" as well, because it could leave your soilders more exposed to end up shaken at the end basically by the virtue of been in the retaliation. Also even more considering some missions has you to rush at top speed against Berserkers that can make a meetgrind to any civilian.

For a tweek i would prefer if can be tiggered on line of sight instead of 2 screen away. So it won't proc unless the soldier has direct line of sight with it.

For extra tweek "a chance" as well that can go higher the more civials get killed in front of the soldier as well. And probably make an oposite version who grants a sort of "resolve" reward instead of a penalty (like a % of aim by watch a civilian dies in the vicinity but make it a chance as well).
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 7. okt. 2020 kl. 11:45
I like the Chimera Squad mechanic better for civilians.
Detsella Morningdew 7. okt. 2020 kl. 10:40
Huh. I always just assumed that killing civilians had some sort of income penalty for the region or something.

Definitely a good mod, though. Makes a lot of sense, even on retaliation missions.
Coley 30. okt. 2019 kl. 18:52
Ah fantastic, thanks for the clarification.

Regards.
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 30. okt. 2019 kl. 18:39
Both of those are supported but faceless dont cause guilt
Coley 30. okt. 2019 kl. 18:38
Thanks for the reply, and apologies for the late response. I think they're different templates, FacelessCivilian X2CharacterTemplate and HostileCivilian X2CharacterTemplate if these help.
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 30. okt. 2019 kl. 11:53
If the template names are the same, unless he made different types of civilians then yes. If not, i just need the template names and ill update it.
Coley 30. okt. 2019 kl. 10:43
Hey ADVENT Avenger, liking the idea of the mod, i was wonder if you had any idea if this is compatible with MrShadow's Civilians Revamped?
lord zealous black thorn 24. okt. 2019 kl. 18:38
wait there is no penalty to killing civilians? i have avoided killing them since i bought the base game thats kinda fucked up
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 5. okt. 2019 kl. 23:37
Not supported yet
CompleteTrash 5. okt. 2019 kl. 21:16
How the solider who kills the civilian gets more debuffs then the soliders who witness it.
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 2. okt. 2019 kl. 22:54
Just noticed it tends to skip concealed units. Included the condition property ExcludeConcealed = false to see if that fixes it.
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 30. sep. 2019 kl. 21:24
It's up now.
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 30. sep. 2019 kl. 21:21
Yeah it was a placeholder when i was testing, will do
Obdulio 30. sep. 2019 kl. 21:12
I recommend rewording the description of the penalties. "and feels bad" sounds too casual for what is suppose to be something so serious.

You could probably just leave it at "This unit witnessed the death of an innocent " as the effect "Guilt" is self-explanatory.
Agent Coxack 30. sep. 2019 kl. 10:39
Aight, cool. Keep it up.
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 30. sep. 2019 kl. 10:29
If i can make one i can make multiple, just need to get one working correctly first. It's on the to do list.
Agent Coxack 30. sep. 2019 kl. 10:24
Then why not do two?

"Coldhearted"
Does not suffer penalties from civilian deaths.

"Warmblooded"
If a civilian dies, this unit has a chance to immediately Panic.

Just suggestions. Gotta balance it.
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 30. sep. 2019 kl. 10:15
If i do make a trait it's going to be a negative one like "Afraid Of Civilian Deaths" that triggers on death.
Agent Coxack 30. sep. 2019 kl. 4:41
Sounds like a very interesting idea, I had a similar mod idea in mind myself but lack the techno-knowhow to make it.

I have a suggestion for this, a Trait called something like "Coldhearted". No penalties from witnessing civilian deaths, since some Resistance soldiers have just seen some horrible stuff.

Great mod from you as always, ADVENT Avenger.
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 29. sep. 2019 kl. 13:23
There is no way to distinguish The Lost via UnitConditions so i uploaded an attempted fix. It will also by extension prevent a MCed player from getting the debuff (it checks for Player controlability)
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 28. sep. 2019 kl. 16:07
Let's wait for LWOTC first and then well make mods for it. But honestly this should work with it as is
Emperor Mollune Veilis Emouran 27. sep. 2019 kl. 23:59
"feel free to level that car hes standing next to" Why you gotta call alot of us out like that lmfao good mod
InterventoR 27. sep. 2019 kl. 2:07
Thank you. This, and RealityMachina's Squad Notoriety are distinctive mods which brings some concern about slaughtering civilians as far as i've seen. I know you won't be bothering this to port LW2, but i hope you consider a version for upcoming LWOTC eventually.
Star¤Dagger 26. sep. 2019 kl. 20:17
Ideas: Both general and soldier penalties for killing civvies. For example Don Rumpf kills a civvie, and get a slap on the wrist, but upon the 2nd time, he is put on 2 week suspension, and the 3rd time for 2 months, 4th time = cashiered out of X-Com.

-10 Supplies per month for 3 months per civvie.
Insufferable Smartypants 26. sep. 2019 kl. 17:36
"You'll also want to avoid grenading civilians to find Faceless"

Waitaminute! WHO DOES THAT??? LOL
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 26. sep. 2019 kl. 16:59
I didnt want to tackle strategy penalties only tactical
EvilPolygons 26. sep. 2019 kl. 14:38
I like the idea of the mod, but I really think the penalty should be harsher than just a temporary hit to Will. A small loss to region income would be more appropriate, I think, if an XCOM soldier accidentally kills a civvie during a mission.
MrMister 26. sep. 2019 kl. 12:13
Psycho 'sThrill: Soldier can use "Headshot" against civillians, and gains 1 action upon killing a civillian.
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 26. sep. 2019 kl. 12:04
Not killing civilians was an integral mechanic of any of it's predecessors. In Apoc they even included the needless destruction of buildings. I'll try to expand this mod but traits are beyond my technical skills, they require checks and alterations to gameflow which i'm not 100% comfortable with.
Dragon32 26. sep. 2019 kl. 9:19
Great idea, ADVENT Avenger! I already try and avoid needless civilian deaths but having a game-mechanic reason to has been long overdue
Cato 26. sep. 2019 kl. 8:59
That's a cool idea for a trait.

Psychopath: This soldier is not affected by Guilt debuff. Maybe gains will and aim buffs on mission after killing an innocent?
MrMister 26. sep. 2019 kl. 7:35
Yeah, the "Guilty over collateral losses" or so negative trait idea sounds cool. You could also make a positive "Psycopath" trait.
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 26. sep. 2019 kl. 4:34
Yes but thats extremely tricky. I prefer this its non intrusive and cant break your game. They're all good ideas but delve deeper into mechanics. I'll try the trait first.
Cato 26. sep. 2019 kl. 1:34
I like the idea of a guilty negative trait rather then on-mission debuffs. Heat of combat vs reflection etc.

Could killing a Civ result in a loss of support / supplies for XCOM? e.g. -10 Monthly supplies, a middle ground between the Chosen debuff and the retaliation failed debuff.
Lux Manifestus 25. sep. 2019 kl. 22:25
Great idea
Juravis  [ophavsmand] 25. sep. 2019 kl. 21:47
Thought about it. Its harder though but will definitely try.
Haybusa 25. sep. 2019 kl. 21:23
You should have a new trait called Guilty or something like that. Killing a civilian by accident or witnessing a civilian you could have saved might garner that trait.
