Yeah, that's why I went to the mk4 version. Many more gyros and much better use. Consider upgrading.

This ship is amazing, I'm playing with the deep ores +Uranium mod and this ship is an absolute dream for getting deposits over 1km below the surface, the auto level works like a dream, my only issue is I had to add a few more gyros, the ship is very hard to yaw when loaded with ore, otherwise absolute dream to use, thanks :D

That's the wonderful thing about Space Engineers...each player can choose how they want to play. This design works for some, but certainly not everyone. Besides, there's an updated version (https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1951091497) that works even better than this version. To each their own.

If you want to follow the playstyle you described this miner could be a useful option . . . but its not the most efficient option out there . . . luckily the game has so many playstyles to offer ;-)

If you want uranium early-on in your game, then I suggest you load some NPC mods that have enemy ships that use reactors for power; shoot them down or wait for them to crash and go gather the leftover uranium ingots and reactors components for your own use.

Sigh. This miner is not intended for use as an early-game ship, but rather only after some work has been done to start building base infrastructure. I have other miners that are early-game and mid-level that serve well before uranium becomes available to the player. I usually get going early-on with my Popcorn miner, then move to one of my Claw miners until I've gathered enough ore, and processed enough ingots and subsequent parts to build a small interplanetary ship (such as my Uranium Express or, better yet, my Pathfinder Utility Vehicle) that I can use to carry sufficient parts from the planet's surface to an asteroid so I can build an off-world refinery station. I use the off-world station to refine uranium and platinum and, typically, gold, then carry the refined ingots back to my planetary base for use. Space Engineers, the game, is about solving problems, not having everything available to use from the very beginning.

And where should a player get the uranium for that? If your are allready in space to get the uranium needed for this the miner is allready too small for you!

Thank you for you unbiased and utterly helpful opinion. Perhaps because of its massive payload an numerous large atmospheric thrusters? Duh.

Why using 4 reactors burning uranium for 1 miner? This is useless!

(I've recently built both the Claw XL and the Deep Reach on several occasions, and it's always worked correctly for me.)
Spaceman Spiff  [ophavsmand] 2. jan. 2020 kl. 9:45
They've always worked for me. Sometimes a new build via projector keeps everything from working correctly. I always try exiting completely out of SE, then reloading it; the problem(s) are usually solved that way.

good designs though

your sorters do not work I have use this and your claw xl and both I have had to fix your sorters

Nope. But you can add it.
Niebieski 18. okt. 2019 kl. 8:53
this project got stabilization like this?
Spaceman Spiff  [ophavsmand] 18. okt. 2019 kl. 8:07
For horizontal tunneling, not mining, I built a simple rig called the Skipjack Tunnel Master: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1790992393

I haven't done anything that drills upward.
Niebieski 18. okt. 2019 kl. 6:51
Any chance for version ready to drill straight and/or up? I can re-model project but maybe you have somthing :)

I should have also mentioned that I considered hydrogen thrusters to significantly reduce the power requirements, but the additional required weight for the hydrogen tanks, O2/H2 generators, and ice (although you might be successful without the latter two, but your flight time will be severely limited) negate their usefulness. Hey, feel free to revise the design using a different power source and/or lift system.
Spaceman Spiff  [ophavsmand] 6. okt. 2019 kl. 7:45
Unfortunately, yes. Other forms of power are significantly less effective since the four large reactors generate a combined maximum output of 59 MW. Batteries only give 1 MW each, so you'd need to put on 59, and hydrogen engines generate only half what a battery does, so you'd need double the number of those. With great power needs comes great responsibility. You'll need to make a trip to space to get uranium from asteroids. Early-on in my planetary survival games I always build Uranium Express just for the purpose of getting to space and setting up an offworld refinery station for generating uranium (and platinum) ingots. You can find Uranium Express here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1805379684

Is this ship 100% reactor powered? I like the look of your ship but i have yet to find any uranium to power reactors and am only able to use hydrogen and solar based recharging/storing.

You bet!
Craizy Daizy 4. okt. 2019 kl. 18:26
Very Nice Works very well Thanks for sharing
Eminov 2. okt. 2019 kl. 5:54
I will use it mostly on pvp, works perfectly
Spaceman Spiff  [ophavsmand] 1. okt. 2019 kl. 9:47
Hey, thanks. I really love this sucker. I wanted an atmospheric miner that could quickly mine a *lot* of ore and offered a bit of defensive capability to swat down pesky drones. Add some shields to it and you're golden.
Eminov 1. okt. 2019 kl. 8:43
Very nice
