i think this could've been a very cool expirementation if you had all the masks. It's still a very good level, but i think its just a missed opportunity.

I like this a lot! But it does not look like the original, the two comments below me have already pointed this out but I think you should've stuck with a similar layout but add a floor or two. This isn't bad either, really epic.
