Fan of Knives was powerful, now it can deal a lot more damage.

Haven't played through so can't give a full assessment but seems pretty cool and has decent modularity. Make attributes more of a mix and match kinda deal.
Strength, affects global and weapon dmg with and additional resistance bypass value that's multiplied by intelligence.
Finess effects, gloabal dmg, dodge, crit, and movement,
Intelligence effects global, skill, accuracy, and multiplies the resistance bypass given by strength.
Wits effects crit, initiative, and DOT dmg.
Additionally backstabbing receive bonus dmg from crit chance to not invalidate it in the late game.
Weapons are diversified a fair bit and tons of other changes. Again I've not played though it much, but I like alot of it in theory. I wouldn't ever think of using a sword and dagger otherwise, or actually bother with food. If you've beaten the game before to actually appreciate what it'd changes I think its well worth a look.

@Alex: Actually now I remember Backlash had issues while being used with non-finesse weapons anyway - like, sometimes damage not applying at all etc. and I can't really fix that with what control I have over skills through the Divinity Engine. So I couldn't really help here, sorry.

As for your questions:
- Like to on hit effects apply from both for skills or only for basic attack?
> Yes they do on all weapon skills. They don't on non-weapon skills.
- Do Elemental effects on offhand count?
> Yes, just like the base damage, you inflict half the elemental damage your off-hand weapon would deal.
- Do certain skills only call on primary for dmg?
> No, all skills that do account for your weapon also take your offhand weapon in consideration.

I have no idea how Vanilla+ affects those though.
Alex 26 aug. 2022 la 10:25
Hmm might be unnecessary. My self and many other's seem to be unclear on what hand contributes what from dual wielding since I've looked this up before. Like to on hit effects apply from both for skills or only for basic attack? Do Elemental effects on offhand count? Do certain skills only call on primary for dmg? Unsure of all of these and won't be sure since I'm playing with Vanilla+ which revises allot. ANY ways it's still be appreciated if you could use dagger skills with it in the offhand, but might just be a matter of aesthetic. If and I still doubt it but IF on hit affects, elements, and dmg, always apply from both, than apart from from aesthetics the only time it'd crop up is when you want you most dmging weapon in the main hand since secondary dmg is halved which is only really relevant with Vanilla+.

@Alex: Uh I'll look into that. If it's not too complicated I might release an update in the following days.

I've an odd request for you. Tried dual wielding with dagger in off hand and sword in main hand both for aesthetics and because I'm experimenting around with Vanilla+. Regrettably can't use backslash or dagger only skills unless it's in main hand. Reckon you could make them work if you've a dagger in offhand and maybe even use the dagger for the attack? Might be asking bit much, but it'd be cool.

@Nevaris Drachenberg: Thanks! I'm glad you like it :winter2019happyyul: Those skills always scaled on the weapon, and it's still the case! It's just that in the past you could only use them with Finesse scaling since all the daggers in the game scale on Finesse.

Hello, first of all, thank you for the mod. I love vanilla and i love using spears, but they simply suck. With thise skill this will be a lot of fun. Iam wondering about the scaling tho. Are these skills still scaling with finess or are they scaling with the weapon now? So maybe i can use corrupted blade as dual wield beast.

very vanilla friendly and cool

another one with backstab not working with spears... it does the teleport part but no damage. Great Mod apart from that!
Krisys  [autor] 7 dec. 2019 la 5:02
Wow, ok, thanks. It's pretty surprising :/ I'll try looking into it again with those inputs

Hello there, I've had he same problem with backlash using a Spear. We've tried several things and here are our results:
-When using it while already being in the back of the target (~180° angle in the back) it does damage like normal.
-When using it while not already in the back, does no damage 19 out of 20 try
Dunno if that helps, that's the data we got
Krisys  [autor] 9 oct. 2019 la 10:26
I've tried pretty much everything, but I don't seem to reproduce the issue, other mods installed or not. I haven't got any issues on multiplayer either. Totally clueless about what is going on here, especially since I haven't changed how the skill works.
I guess you can check several things, such as :
- Are you on Definitive Edition ? The mod is for Definitive Edition only, and I have no idea how / if it could work on Classic (I shouldn't even show up on the list of available mods though, so I guess that's not it)
- Are you in multiplayer ? Sometimes, even on vanilla, I've experienced issues with spells not completing correctly on multiplayer. If the issue is consistent, and only with that spell it gotta be something else though.
- Does the spell work with ALL mods disabled ?

Other than that, I'm at loss, sorry :'(
Krisys  [autor] 2 oct. 2019 la 3:43
Ok that's actually weird because I never managed to reproduce the issue :| gotta try again
Rebonack 1 oct. 2019 la 23:21
I gave it a whirl with all mods disabled except Scoundrel Unlocked, same issue. Backstab works, teleport and all, but it deals no damage.
Krisys  [autor] 28 sept. 2019 la 8:01
I see :/
If the issue persists, I'd say try toying around with the mod order, for example trying to set this mod first or last in the list, and see whether it changes anything.

If anyone who has the issue has some time to lose I'd be grateful if they could try deactivating some other mods one by one to see if that is effectively a compatibility issue, and if it is what is causing it. I'm not sure if I can fix it, but at least I'll be able to give a compatibility warning for future users.
light_bringer777 28 sept. 2019 la 7:15
Certainly possible, I have like 20 or so mods running personally so it might come down to a conflict. Nothing that directly affects skills afaik, but it could be something else.
Krisys  [autor] 24 sept. 2019 la 10:50
This is confusing :/ I've tested it repeatedly and there doesn't seem to be any issues when I do :/ Do you have any other mods installed ? Maybe there is a conflict ?
light_bringer777 24 sept. 2019 la 9:07
Love the idea, but I also get no damage on Backlash.
Krisys  [autor] 19 sept. 2019 la 4:20
@LanceHavenbay Weird :/ Does it happen systematically ? I never saw this issue while testing the mod
LanceHavenbay 18 sept. 2019 la 15:02
Backstab with a dagger doesn't appear to do any damage. New game. Teleports like normal, but 0 damage. Starting companion, Fane with default dagger for Shadowblade.
Krisys  [autor] 10 sept. 2019 la 8:51
@Eggywegg Thanks a lot ! :D
Brian 9 sept. 2019 la 18:52
This is awesome thanks, really does add a lot of fun to a warrior build. Balance seems ok, backlash is a little strong with a spear, but doesn't push the boundaries like class mods do already. Thanks for this :)
Krisys  [autor] 7 sept. 2019 la 14:15
@Vinz All the spells depend on the character's weapon ability to backstab (except those that guarantee a backstab, they work with any weapon), so the throwing daggers shouldn't be able to backstab with a two handed weapon. Over the course of some tests I've made limit-less throwing daggers didn't seem broken to me, but then again I invite people to test that and give me feedbacks if I missed some awful abuse.
Vinz Clortho 7 sept. 2019 la 12:07
Sounds OP for throwing daggers and fan of knives when the two handed fighter chucks a "dagger" (with damage based on their equipped weapon) with the ability to backstab
Krisys  [autor] 7 sept. 2019 la 8:28
@Temeraire Thanks ! I'm glad you like it ! :D
Kazori 7 sept. 2019 la 3:41
Damn, this sounds amazing. I always thought that a rouge that want's to fight using a dagger only was strange. A Bastard sword is just much more fitting and just as nimble. This mod sounds so much fun and I especially love the part about spears, to give them some extra love.
