leerm02 19. nov. 2018 kl. 7:15
I love this mode. Thanks for making it!
RadiantDarkBlaze 10. okt. 2018 kl. 18:24
There is an edit that I made a while back called "crash turbo" that ups the speed a fair bit, as well as an "uber crash" edit by someone else that raises the speed beyond all reason if my 'turbo' edit still isn't fast enough for you. I can't say I agree with the combo system idea; combo systems just screw you over for missing 1 block somewhere in the middle of the track while being relatively forgiving of misses practically at the start or end. I like the score system used in crash because it's about as simple as a score system can be, and therefore shows skill differences in exact manner.
acid 10. okt. 2018 kl. 6:01
Any chance of a turbo mode of this? Also, would love some sort of bigger penalty for missing, maybe a combo system?
RSLFOREVER 8. apr. 2018 kl. 4:46
Amazing game mode. It just gets annoting when the total traffic changes over time letting some people get scores higer that can never be beat since the number of blocks on the track change . Not sure why this happens.
mmiwo 7. dec. 2017 kl. 9:55
This is just the way i always wanted to play Audiosurf!
No problems so far with this mod, thanks alot!
Gram Stola 28. juli 2016 kl. 13:11
Itsa nice warmup for faster songs for me :D
RadiantDarkBlaze 29. feb. 2016 kl. 7:13
Alright; fair enough. For now, hero beta punishes minor errors far too severely for my liking anyway; this mod (and crash turbo) are still my preferred go-tos. (;
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 28. feb. 2016 kl. 11:58
We're ramping up towards out final assessment in class at them moment and I don't trally have the time to invest in rebuilding the mod at the moment.
RadiantDarkBlaze 28. feb. 2016 kl. 6:37
Hey, has anyone reading this heard of "hero beta" yet? It's got the same basic goal as this, but you get rewarded more for keeping up a streak + there's power blocks and loops and stuff. Still no greys though ^^

@GodofDrakes
Just thought I'd let you know that proper, original popularity competition has arrived. Do you plan to start working on an improved version of your own, with different unique twists?
RadiantDarkBlaze 15. feb. 2016 kl. 16:59
@GravityUnown
I've gotta agree with what you're saying; I always thought that's what Audiosurf should be from the moment I saw Audiosurf. I was initially disappointed with mono mode, but since I discovered this mode... well just look at how many hours I've racked up on Audiosurf thanks to this mode xD

Have you seen the "Tough Songs" discussion I started in the "discussions" tab here yet? (Or anyone, for that matter) xD I posted a few songs that I find particularly challenging in crash mode there if you want to take a look (;
RadiantDarkBlaze 11. jan. 2016 kl. 19:08
Alright, uploaded it. I called it "crash turbo". Any chance that I could convince you to give it a whirl? ;P (;
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 11. jan. 2016 kl. 18:01
@RadiantDarkBlaze Aware of and fine with it. Go for it man. Referrals to this mod are appreciated.
RadiantDarkBlaze 10. jan. 2016 kl. 18:00
I've made a modification of this mod that only changes the max speed from 2.5 to 3.5 and min speed from 0.14 to 0. Do I have permission to upload my modification to the workshop? Also, are you aware of the "uber crash" mod that's been uploaded to the workshop by (if I still remember the spelling of the username correctly) "Baxoniz0r"?
Aviator Fae 22. dec. 2015 kl. 23:13
Brought here by a commentor on one of my Youtube videos, said I'd like this mod. I shall download, rate up, and test it out. Thanks, seems like my kinda thing :P
RadiantDarkBlaze 22. dec. 2015 kl. 23:03
Alright, "Through the Fire and the Flames" is indeed pretty fun. I'll give the stats on it:
Traffic: 1737
Length: ~7:29
Block density: ~3.87/second
Best search terms: "fire and flames", 1st result

Here's another fun one for y'all:
Traffic: 952
Length: ~3:12
Block density: ~4.96/second
Best search terms: "lily scarlet rose", 2nd result

Hopefully people have fun with this one ^^ If you know of any SoundCloud songs with a block density of ~3.75/second or higher, please share right here in the comments where everyone who has crash can look before playing songs (;
12m 28. sep. 2015 kl. 3:20
Awesome! Thanks :8bitheart:
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 7. sep. 2015 kl. 20:30
@Fusion That's actually kind of the goal. It's literally a copy of Mono's code (or at least, it's code at the time of this mode's release) with some stuff pulled out. Mono does something like replacing the mid scrtion of groups of blocks with grey (I don't remember exactly. Somehting along those lines) I just leave it alone.

In short, the mode is more a streamlined Mono than a mod to Freemode.

Part of the fun for me is in the challenge. 'Through the Fire and the Flames' is crazy fun with a block for every note. I get where you are coming from though. It takes some getting used to.
RadiantDarkBlaze 7. aug. 2015 kl. 0:39
@GodofDrakes Whoops- sorry it took me so long to reply ;; Sounds cool though; I'm definitely looking forward to it (;
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 16. juli 2015 kl. 9:47
@RadiantDarkBlaze This mode was built from a copy of the standard Mono's .lua file. At the time the pulse effect didn't exist. I've been toying with an updated version over the past week that does have said pulse. I'll probbaly upload a Crash 2.0 once I'm satisfied with it.
RadiantDarkBlaze 16. juli 2015 kl. 1:41
When I play freeride mod, I notice that the blocks get bigger for a second right before I hit them. Same thing happens in mono mod. That doesn't happen in this mod, so the hitboxes are effectively smaller. For me, having smaller hitboxes to aim for than in any other mod when I want to collect blocks is a little frustrating. For me it takes away a good portion of the fun. I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, because that is a pretty major thing. I am quite sure that I don't like it one bit.

Otherwise though, the idea behind this mod is exactly what I was looking for; only color blocks with no grid puzzle, no randomly awarded points (freeride mod is guilty of that), and no option to let the computer take over (freeride mod even giving me that option quickly obseletes my normal play, which makes me feel like trash when I try to normal play any songs that I've already let the computer do). Many kudos to you @GodofDrakes (;
Apathie 9. juli 2015 kl. 3:28
I really didn't give a shit about the puzzle element anyway.
Malidictus 30. dec. 2014 kl. 7:11
Well, that's just boiling AudioSurf down to its bare essentials, isn't it? I love it! This is what I've always wanted out of the game anyway - a "flow-like" experience of flying through my own music. All the puzzle elements and complications served to do is distract me, so this mod is exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks! :)
Crow 17. jan. 2014 kl. 17:42
This is my new favorite mod, sadly. I suck at Audiosurf. xDDD
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 10. jan. 2014 kl. 22:22
Nope. I haven't the slightest clue why that shows up. I haven't touched the code regarding the creation and coloring of blocks save to count how many there are. It shows up on veery song I've played and as far as I can tell there's no predicting where in the song it will show up. It's pretty minor so I haven't really dedicated any time to fixing it but if you manage to fix it tell me and I'll patch it.
The Sojourner 10. jan. 2014 kl. 22:05
[as-nogrey]: this is really awesome (and if only it could be an official mod...). One small question: I keep seeing a purple block in my songs. Does it mean anything?
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 31. dec. 2013 kl. 16:14
I tried to make the speed similar to that of AS1 but I made a mistake with the speed once and it was crazy. Just make sure you back up the modded file or it'll get replaced when an update comes along
Visceral 31. dec. 2013 kl. 15:31
Awesome mod!

I made a slight modification of this that makes you go almost four times faster, since I've really gotten into going super fast with this game. It's incredible how fast this game can go just with the changing of a few variables.

Great work here! I love this!
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 22. dec. 2013 kl. 0:24
@Skippbo Glad you like it.
Saar 21. dec. 2013 kl. 17:51
Brilliant
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 14. dec. 2013 kl. 11:24
Best of luck!
Yello 14. dec. 2013 kl. 10:46
Awesome! You've increased my enjoyment of this game by a ton :P

I'll be sure to get this mod once I get AS2. :heart:
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 13. dec. 2013 kl. 20:56
@Yello Pumpkin
Yes there is. In AS1 you can insert tags into the identification information of the song that allows you to change how AS generates the track for it. I use [as-monoonly] [as-nogrey] [as-nostlth] [as-hidepuz] [as-steep].

You can do this manually by putting the tags after the name of the song (whihc is different from the name of the file) or by using a tool like Yet Another Audiosurf Player to do it for you.
Yello 13. dec. 2013 kl. 20:17
Just came across this - is there something like this that exists for the original Audiosurf? Freeride mode is nice but I really want a mode where I can hit all the blocks and have it make a sound for each block I hit.
Torbjorn 15. okt. 2013 kl. 7:32
Whoa,this looks like more extreme version of Freeride and Mono mixup!

Great, thanks a bunch!
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 11. okt. 2013 kl. 23:55
Ok so I've got it counting each block and adding the total as a note under the current score. I'll just put the final touches on it and I'll push the new version.
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 11. okt. 2013 kl. 23:28
To my knowledge I can't add any aditional text at the end of the score screen. I think I can add some text under the current score in game though. I'll look into it.
MagicalFlan 11. okt. 2013 kl. 18:51
Just a neat little addition, could you add a total count of blocks from the song. So for instance if I got 400 blocks in a song out of, say 1500, could you add a 400/1500 in the score screen?
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 7. okt. 2013 kl. 13:06
Yeah, I see that. Update in a sec.
rumlefisk 7. okt. 2013 kl. 12:38
Using the Classic skin (and others here in the workshop) doesn't work properly, and either creates the loading bug, or this {LINK FJERNET}
Fixed it by changing trackwidth (string 39) to the default 5.
rumlefisk 7. okt. 2013 kl. 12:14
Glad i could help!
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 7. okt. 2013 kl. 12:13
Updated. It's working. Thanks again rumlefisk!
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 7. okt. 2013 kl. 12:05
@rumlefisk May your coffie never go cold good sir. That was the issue. I'm pushing the update right now.
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 7. okt. 2013 kl. 11:59
Gonna try that right now.
rumlefisk 7. okt. 2013 kl. 11:12
Took a peek at your code, and messed around with it. I learned than setting these 2 strings to 0.00 creates the loading screen bug (stuck on load screen, music starts playing)

uphilltiltsmoother = x,
downhilltiltsmoother = x,

The value works the other way around. Closer to 0 is more smooth, while closer to 1 makes it steeper/less smooth. Tried creating it from scratch and got it working.
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 5. okt. 2013 kl. 20:44
I'll also try to keep the changelog updated.
GodofDrakes  [ophavsmand] 5. okt. 2013 kl. 20:32
Still no luck with the loading issue sadly, but I'm improving the loading screen and adding some easy to find variables for volume control.
skzk 5. okt. 2013 kl. 14:20
I have the loading screen bug as well.
plain_old_me 4. okt. 2013 kl. 19:06
.... any found it funny how the mods called crash lol, When it works, IF it works should be a cool mod =)
