for "wheel can't be placed" the front axle is misoriented with the rear 2. Flip it and the wheels should spawn

Just weld the mudguards last or something, you're an engineer, you can improvise if things don't immediately work out.

As is, this rover flips onto the connector when fully loaded. The script is partially to blame. I wonder if updates have made this unusable because you can't get wheels on it in survival.

The wheels can't be placed when projected in survival

i have this problem with wheels can not be placed?

I used it on both Earth and Alien world. I tried it on Mars and found it to perform near perfectly. I try not to test rovers on Mars because lets face it Mars was made for rovers.

If you widen your wheel base by 1 on each side, add 2 blocks in length to your wheel base both front and back, remove the cockpit steps then lift the cockpit up 1 block, your overall performance should improve when using the cargo cans. At the very least if you do bottom out raising the cockpit by 1 block keeps you from loosing it

All in all this is still one of the better rover builds I've seen on the workshop.

Well it is configured by the script so my adjustments are left as default/last tune by script. Curious what kind of terrain you used cause I've used this with full rock load from my regolith harvester and it's driven up rough martian cratersides with high inclinations. The script handles power/torque etc so it should adjust proper calues for weight/speed and such on the fly to minimize user hassle in readjusting those values. But ultimately you're right, it's a space truck... not an all terrain rock crawler.

I tested your rover and straight out of the box it is non operable with a full load on the 10x cargo setting. I decided to take a peek under the hood at your settings and you really need to improve your adjustments.

Edit: Went back an enabled scripts so your automatic transmission would work properly. Performed better but the script doesn't work very well on anything rougher than mild terrain.

Side Note: Its very top heavy when used as a cargo hauler but performs quite well as a hydrogen tanker.

Conclusion: Its a good rover design for a smooth ride. It will get you from A to B with little fuss. For best results use on worlds with flat or mild terrain. Avoid bumps and dips at all cost if possible. Cargo multiplier should not be above 5x if you want to use for hauling ore.

7/10 if used as a cargo transport.
8/10 if used as a hydrogen tanker.

Cheap and cheerful; it does what it says on the tin and just works.

Personally I would rotate the big storage containers so their big connectors are aligned forward to back, with the front container having its third big port facing up and the rear container having it faced down. This removes the big container ports from view and makes it easy to add a second connector to the top of the vehicle to support flying miners and (especially) welders and grinders.

The other part of the vehicle that I would change is the area below the o2 generator. This is mostly empty but more containers or an extra gyro could also be squirreled away there without too much effort.

In terms of the button bar, I would add the handbrake (I don't like 'P') and on a second bar I might add increase/decrease for wheel power, strength and maybe friction. To support this I would create a group for the wheels.

Keep up the good work.

IIM does not work correct! pls fix it!

one last note i love the Mule Cargo Hauler/Tanker i just wish it had no dlc and it needs to be biger
rkylan374 24 iun. 2019 la 12:59
i just like big ships with lots of moving parts like my moon shot that is based on border lands but it is in testing i still can't comeplet it because of my grphics driver
rkylan374 24 iun. 2019 la 12:57
got it

Check out my Aurora base, which acts as a starter base for planets. As for having the miner fully ready to go from blueprint, that can't be done I'm afraid. It relies on subgrids (items attached to rotors or pistons) and those cannot be projected. Adding timer commands is very easy if you follow the description though :)
rkylan374 24 iun. 2019 la 11:19
hey can you do me a big faver and make a base that i can put on plants and that i can use your blueprents with it. Oh one more thing can you upgrade your mining platform to be ready for mining as soon as your done building it.
OctoBooze  [autor] 23 iun. 2019 la 21:55
Already posted...
tracytech 23 iun. 2019 la 15:55
can you post a blueprint of the mining platform in the screen shots
ScandalousBetsy 22 iun. 2019 la 14:46
YUS! I love your work. The Ranger is awesome too
OctoBooze  [autor] 22 iun. 2019 la 10:03
It is simply timer based and like I said below I'll put it up tomorrow evening once I get back home :)
Xaver 22 iun. 2019 la 9:54
Nice Collection.
Do you have a Script for the Minig-site from the last Screenshot? Or maybe an Blueprint ready?
OctoBooze  [autor] 22 iun. 2019 la 0:41
This was originally a trailer based solution but under full load it did not get onto my discharge ramps so it was a bit cumbersome to use for me so I just made it into a truck. You should make one yourself though :)
werewolfdawzy 22 iun. 2019 la 0:23
Could you make these onto a trailer for the Ranger Baselayer?

for ths idiots in the crowd, what are DAS and IIM?
OctoBooze  [autor] 21 iun. 2019 la 6:58
Either there is obstruction preventing the tyres from spawning or the script is interfering with it. Try clearing enough space and turning off DAS
RedSword 21 iun. 2019 la 5:54
this was yet another rover i tried to make in survival and the wheels can't be placed, am i missing something?
Priam 20 iun. 2019 la 16:27
Sweet! I love automation. I tried using drones with a mining script but it started to crash my game with the monster digs I had them do and i dont have a good pc
OctoBooze  [autor] 20 iun. 2019 la 13:10
I'll release it sunday evening once I return home from my travels :)
Priam 20 iun. 2019 la 12:24
wheres that drill at?!
DeAnti 19 iun. 2019 la 16:17
Lol the engineer pointing made me laugh
OctoBooze  [autor] 19 iun. 2019 la 9:22
Thanks! It's merely a working prototype to show what the vehicle can be used for though, doesn't quite fit the theme of realistic space things yet.
Anaki 19 iun. 2019 la 9:14
I reckon that's one of, if not the best looking small scale, automatic mining rig/platform this side of Klang; nice work.
Deathlok-L17 18 iun. 2019 la 14:41
Nice hauler!

Nice design! I like how small and usefull it is.
