this mod still work? the vanilla hydrogen explosions are kinda pathetic and barely a factor to consider when building a ship tbh.
Echo4Kilo 12. apr. 2022 kl. 0:13
Great. because I just observed massive hydrogen tank explosion and it didn't do $hit and was pretty unsatisfying. and I've found this mod. gonna try it rn.
Lt. Ruben 27. feb. 2022 kl. 10:49
this mod is still relevant. Vanilla has some weird rules of what gets damaged and what doesn't. Hydrogen explosion doesn't destroy voxels nor armor plates in vanilla lol.

No clue why they only implement half assed stuff instead of the actual content of the original mod.
WARLORD2306 6. feb. 2022 kl. 13:09
thanks man this mod gave me years worth of fun
WarDaddy 5. feb. 2022 kl. 10:48
Was definitely a must have now its in the game. :selike:
Doviena 4. feb. 2022 kl. 1:21
Thank you for this mod, has brought so much hilarity to my sessions <3
Bueno 3. feb. 2022 kl. 19:38
Thanks for this mod, really added to the gameplay!
nadesammich 3. feb. 2022 kl. 15:31
Appreciate the work you put into this mod over the years, its been core mod of my servers. Now that its vanilla, I'll always look back on the good times here when I see a ship light up in a blaze.
Mad Dan Eccles 3. feb. 2022 kl. 15:00
Tanks for the memories.
Shado 3. feb. 2022 kl. 12:31
Loved the mod, now its vanilla.
Tachi 29. jan. 2022 kl. 21:52
Is there any way to change the explosion values? Trying to get the tanks to do juuust enough damage to cause a chain reaction if tanks are placed next to each other
Dondelium  [ophavsmand] 15. jan. 2022 kl. 22:02
@Lowstringer There should be no compatibility issues.
Lowstringer 14. jan. 2022 kl. 19:14
Do you know if there could be any compatibility issues with your explosion mods and Echthros's bigger explosion mods?
Dondelium  [ophavsmand] 8. okt. 2021 kl. 17:35
If you notice during the video I posted. Hitting a block near the tank, sends damage calls to the hydrogen tank. This is how deformation damage works.
If you smash your ship into a hydrogen tank, it applies deformation damage to the blocks around it.

Now, I too had some issues getting it to do as you're earlier video showed, but I did output the state of the logic behind the explosion status, and there was no additional damage applied via the mod. This is SE or another mod being funky.
Dondelium  [ophavsmand] 8. okt. 2021 kl. 17:29
I enabled on-screen debugging, and did not change the logic in anyway...
Tank Explosions are working as intended, even during collisions. Not sure what the cause of the issue you are experiencing is, but you will need to provide a world file if you would like any further assistance.

Proof of functionality:
https://youtu.be/QC-ug2jQDs0

P.S. If you are altering the mod in any way (as you are looking at the code apparently)... Chances are it's you're changes.
Dondelium  [ophavsmand] 8. okt. 2021 kl. 16:52
I will test the mod, after SE reinstalls.
As for you not seeing a damage threshold check in the code try line 61 in the core.cs.
Dondelium  [ophavsmand] 7. okt. 2021 kl. 14:44
@stubkan Honestly... this looks like SE's collision system.

I have on multiple occasions landed on a armor leg, and had the container the leg was attached to break off while the leg is 100% fine.

Can you re-run some of you're tests with the mod disabled and see what results you get?

Happy to see this has been updated for more current times, look forward to seeing more improvements/features
Master Chief; John-117 23. juli 2021 kl. 13:20
in theory the tanks should vent oxygen/hydrogen when grinded. also don't hydrogen engines store
hydrogen? So shouldn't they have the same effect as the tanks?
Dondelium  [ophavsmand] 16. maj 2021 kl. 10:03
@Blaquestone I fixed that.

@SevereGastricDistress For this mod I was lazy, and just used a built-in explosion scaled up.
SevereGastricDistress 16. maj 2021 kl. 2:00
This is fantastic. Currently looking at importing custom particles into the game. Did you have any luck with the new particle system?
Rhasmoth 1. mar. 2021 kl. 6:52
"Tanks explode when damaged beyond functional and damage is not done by a grinder." While testing this mod out, I discovered that if a tank is grinded down at all, it negates the possibility for a proper explosion. So in theory, players can just grind each tank down a single notch and make all of their tanks impervious to catastrophe. Extremely fun mod so far, though. :)
Dondelium  [ophavsmand] 5. jan. 2021 kl. 17:24
@Ender Yes, it does. There was an issue with particle place holders spawning as Keen changed the particle system, and did not update the particle emitter in MyExplosionInfo.CreateParticleEffect.

For now I have removed the particle effect creation, and will replace it with a particle when I figure out how to make that work as it is intended.
Ender 5. jan. 2021 kl. 6:26
Does this mod still work as intended?
Ark_gamer 29. nov. 2020 kl. 21:22
KSH has changed the amount of hydrogen in a full tank and it appears to have wildly scaled up the explosion damage
Dondelium  [ophavsmand] 30. okt. 2020 kl. 14:20
thanks for the report. I will investigate.
Seraph 29. okt. 2020 kl. 17:11
Hi. Particle effects seem to be broken. This was tested with Tank Explosions installed as the only mod. I shot a small grid large hydrogen tank until it exploded, and there's a persistent red/green/blue square effect that lasts infinitely.

@Queen Elizabeth II No, mainly because I never had anything in particular to respond to.
So, what is the question?
Fine Gentleman 19. sep. 2020 kl. 20:30
helllooooo? you ever gonna respond??
McCloud Jr 19. juli 2020 kl. 7:49
@Twiz

and i bet your PC just LOVES you for it!

lol
Twiz 19. juli 2020 kl. 7:39
welp...it still works...tried it out with Weaponcore and my Gladius lasers just hit a frigate and the thing blew to goddamn pieces. Very cool...this combined with Jump drive explosions and reactor explosions should make for some explode-y fun
RHS0 27. juni 2020 kl. 12:15
Will it update to make the small hydrogen tanks explode?
Lt. Ruben 11. juni 2020 kl. 15:30
This mod is so great, but sadly it needs an update. The small hydrogen tanks dont seem to explode at all.
RazersEdge 28. sep. 2019 kl. 11:30
10/10 tested it out on a Heavy Cruiser and laughed maniacally as it died a horrific death.
Quicksilver Ninjato 22. aug. 2019 kl. 8:39
So if I store my hydrogen tanks well away from any oxygen will it avoid this explosion?
Planewalker 17. aug. 2019 kl. 8:01
Why this isn't vanilla already is a complete mystery.
Starry 9. aug. 2019 kl. 11:34
i cant get the tanks to actually do any damage when they explode
Mannschaft 9. aug. 2019 kl. 11:19
One of the best mods ever to grace SE. This mod gives every ship a fatal flaw and I love it.
EPICDUDE365 29. juli 2019 kl. 4:10
This plus Jump Drive Explosion mod equals fun times and death.
Slimeradio  [udvikler] 23. juli 2019 kl. 10:42
Hi! You have error with your mod. In some cases tanks can just stop fall, and start rotation. Please instert your explosion code inside MyAPIGateway.Utilities.InvokeOnGameThread (() => { })
Damage hook is async in `Adaptive Simulation quality`, thats why it causing errors!

Octavius 18. juli 2019 kl. 12:43
will the Nanobot Build and Repair System mod also trigger the tank explosion?
ferox96 9. juli 2019 kl. 23:32
Falchion-gpx: Think about the pressurized chamber filled with oxygen rich air. Mix that with the newly freed hydrogen and the explosion that caused tank failure, and you have all 3 ingredients for combustion.
Nek0thiccbrain 27. juni 2019 kl. 12:52
GIVE ME YOUR ENTIRE STOCK:steamhappy:
Starry 27. juni 2019 kl. 0:57
this and the reactor mod no longer work for some reason, idont know why
falchion-gpx 17. juni 2019 kl. 19:19
On the explosions:

The chemist in me states that you will not get a glow without an electron jump caused by chemical reactions in a simple release of gas in space: a white poof would be more accurate.
cpaynenj 16. juni 2019 kl. 20:03
Thanks man - i think i need to get a bit better at the game first lol
Dondelium  [ophavsmand] 16. juni 2019 kl. 19:28
@cpaynenj That depends on how much gas is in the tank, how much health your tank has remaining, and if its in an oxidized environment. It can go from just pushing your ship around, to blowing off a chunk of your ship all the way to if you have a massive modded tank full of H2 and its in an atmosphere, vaporizing a large area around it.
cpaynenj 16. juni 2019 kl. 19:24
How massive is the explosion, does it vaporize your grid or are we talking it damages a few blocks (think small ship hydro tank in space)
emperror 14. juni 2019 kl. 3:49
Hi, i have a question. Tanks in vanilla start to burn first if you fire on them.
With youre mod this doesn't happen. Is this intended ?
BLU MIMI Sentry 12. juni 2019 kl. 12:38
I appreciate you using my Valkyrie for this xD

Goes to show the electric variant is even more needed now
