Done, all icons resized to 78x78. Loaded the game, looks ok.
Weird how I missed it when @CountCristo posted the screenshot, probably I didn't update the game to the latest version before checking.

I simply cropped all icons in my mod. If any icons was changed by devs and I missed it, please tell me and I will update them.

PDX finally desided to crop original building.dds files and changed insertion method. You need to crop your files too.

Frankly, I have no idea what is the reason of the problem.
Checked the mod icons dds file settings and sizes and they're exactly the same as vanilla.
Majority of mod icons wasn't changed for years and it was working fine before the last update.
I admit, I can't solve this problem for now, so use this mod as it is or don't use it at all.

I've just checked the game and the building icon size in planet view is the same with or without this mod.

@Martok, technically, it should work with the previous version of the game, but icons can show wrong tier, so compatibility is questionable. I didn't fully understand all the changes in 4.0 version (I don't play the game anymore) and game had a lot of bugs at the moment, probably this mod is a mess now.

@桜雪, it's done, two icons for automation building was replaced. Also, all automation buildings now use the same two icons, and should be replaced too automatically.

The UI of automated facilities is now different from that of the robot assembly plant, but the mod content hasn't been updated yet. Could you please update it?

Also, while looking through files I've found several more upgrade chains of automation buildings (mining, farming, etc) and added tier numbers to them. See change log.

@Peter34, please elaborate.
As I see in building files:

building_automation_1 (icon building_automation_1, tier I) upgrades to building_automation_2 (icon building_automation_2, tier II)

building_robot_assembly_plant (icon building_robot_assembly_plant, tier I) upgrades to building_robot_assembly_complex (icon building_machine_assembly_complex, tier II)

building_machine_assembly_plant (icon building_robot_assembly_plant, tier I) upgrades to building_machine_assembly_complex (icon building_machine_assembly_complex, tier II)

This is three different upgrade chains and automation building doesn't use icons from robot/machine assembly.
But robot/machine assemblies use the same icons.

It'd be really helpful if this mod did not use the same tier Roman Numeral for the Automation Building as for the Robot Assembly. I know to double-check I'm building the right one,and later triple-check that I have built the right one, but that's annoying to have to do, and newbies don't know to do it.

Are you sure the problem is with this mod? All it does is change some icons, that's all. It shouldn't affect any game logic or building upgrade conditions.

Also, Paradox devs slowly turning all this into some chaotic mess.

They reuse building icons for other buildings. It'd take five seconds to copy icon with a new name to avoid it, but no.

Icon names are not matched to building names for newly added buildings. They name buildings with "building_" prefix, but don't add it to icon name, what is the point of it?

They create building chain "building_natural_furnace_0-1-2-3" and add icons with names
"natural_furnace_1-2-3-4" to them. As a result, for example, building_natural_furnace_2 has icon natural_furnace_3.

It looks like they delegated these tasks to some junior programmer with no experience.

There could be a problem with unity buildings.
It seems buildings like building_bureaucratic_1-2-3 and their machine, hive and other equivalents are not upgradable now?
Idk, I don't remove it yet.

@BFNoise There is a bug in the descriptor.mod file - the "supported_version" property is missing the "v" letter. So instead of "3.13.*" you need to have "v3.13.*" to get rid of the "different version" warning icon. Or you can set it to "v3.*" so you won't have to update it for every minor version.
