I have the sawmill and the lumber it produced was not 'recognised' and processed.- it wasn't picked up and I couldn't make Red's Rowhouses - windmill works fine producing firewood from logs though
this is the reason you need to manage your oldies like you are managing everything else.
Speaking of new mods, may i suggest the creation of sort of "senior (old) place" using a big inn or hospital - large or high building, with a green park lane around (1/2 big oaks, little fountain and seats), opened to people single or couples - you could place it behind the city hall or a large market. It would leave the houses already built for young families. This type of building could 2/3 even 4 appartments by levels. And if it is possible, the turnover should be automatic, say when your kids are all grawn and you are 60/65 - but no younger people could use the place. (Sorry, i have some difficulties to find the words i'm not familiar with, is that correct ?). Well, i have just offered you something more to think about ^^
