Thanks a lot, great you like it.
This is totally MP compatible, but terrains are not shared, so you will be the only one seing them.
I have a general modding guid , but terrains are a fairly small point there for they are technically.
What I did on the artistic side was find cool tiled images and then work with them. So the very first base is not done by me. I then used masks from the original terrains and used Paint.NET and Photoshop to merge layers and layers of different terrains and previously worked on terrains and effect/structure images with varying settings, percentages, merge modes, color/constrast/lightning changes and more antil the results pleased me - some terrains literally consist of dozens of arranged layers that may themselves do too.
I also descided on a set of maps (random maps and scenarios) that cover most possible constellations to ensure the final set works on all those occasions (and redid my terrains when I experienced new ones - like when I learned a lot of people used single farm terrain tiles to scatter in dirt ones to diverify the landscape and realised my terrains didn't cover this).
1 This is bloody awesome, mate!
2 Can I use this in Multiplayer?
3 Do you have a tutorial to do this stuff? I'd like to tinker with maybe making a Frostpunk theme
But that's REALLY time consuming (even when reusing images from SW GB).
So I'll only start to do so in case I'm sure to finish it. ;)
This has to be done for AoEs mod system uses files steam doesn't take care of, so you have to do so manually. :(
and for that i give you the greatest of thanks
