the encampments map mod is basically frozen atm, its got something to do with the way maps are coded for game 1 and game 2 I am told.

It would be so amazing if CA added this to the game. Obviously it would be a lot of work to make multiple interesting maps for every race and region but damn.

@andrewdeugo yes it should be. The maps are not in campaign yet, and to my knowledge GCCM is savegame compatible so you should have no issue.

look, im over the idea of a map for every area or procedurally generated maps from CA even after being adamant about mapping all the things. But the work you map modders do is just stellar. I am obsessed with immersion in my video games and when im fighting chaos dwarves in a custom map with my modded FX and reskins. God this game is just my favorite.

Since everyone seems to be wondering about it I will add it to the description maybe: These are going to be added to GCCM at some point, they are not currently playable in campaign. The plan is to add a new battle type: "Encampment Battles" that triggers when an army in encampment stance is attacked.

I think the AI certainly does better as attacker than defender. Since this is just a land battle, the AI will sally forth if you got artillery for example. It should be close to the behaviour in GCCM´s most simple siege maps.

@Deathlytree they will be eventually. The main GCCM crew are working on adding encampment battles to the game. Most of them are on vacation I think so it'll probably still be a while.
