on my server where do i goto with materials? file manager garrys mod do make a folder called materials? or do i place in add ons or add ons pointshop masrter ect?

Open up the lua files in notepad++ and you can edit them there

hey @Niandra lades i extracted the gma from the firts trail pack and i put both the VMT AND VFT into the trials folder on my server pointshop and i put the lua in there but it will not work in game how do i make it work? id like to be able to make the lua file myself so i can do my own prices ... ?

Huh that's pretty odd; did you try unpacking the .gma? I don't have the files to this anymore and can't seem to subscribe to my own stuff so unless I get sent a copy or the .gma I can't recheck these

So.. How do i actually add these to my point shop in the case them not automatically doing it and me not finding any solutions per google?

Ah, okay, that'll be the issue. Move your materials and models either to the materials and model folders you have inside garrysmod/ or place them in a folder in addons. (so for example addons/pointshopstuff/models or addons/pointshopstuff/materials)

C:\GMOD\garrysmod\addons\pointshop-master\lua\items\materials

is where I have all of the materials (thats the same place with trails, hats, playermodels, etc.
I've looked all arround and watched your YouTube vid, and i saw that you have a materials folder in the root dir., and I dont. was that added? Also I've noticed that nowhere are the vtf files linked with any trails, even the ones that pointshop comes with and vtf is the thumbnail file. Right?

Hmm, it should work fine just as it is from the workshop download. Are you sending it to the client?

The trails work, but only if the client has the trail pack. Or does the materials folder need to be in the root? Right now I have it in the same folder as trails, hats, playermodels, etc.

If the thumbnails are missing, do the actual trails work? It's bit weird if only one does

I have the trails working, but the thumbnails arent displaying (missing tex) How do I fix that?

Sorry for the late reply. You could download it from the dropbox link in my description and add it to your fastdl, that might work

I have the same problem. I did a ResourceAddFile to each lua for the vtf/vmt files and added the vtf/vmt files to my materials for fastdl. The icons show up in the pointshop but no trails show up on the player.

Are you working multiplayer or singleplayer? Possibly may need to add it to fastdl, or do resource.AddWorkshop.

For some reason this wont work for me, they get added to teh list, but are just the regular error texture (pink/black).
Even tried adding it manually, still the same problem, any suggestions?

hello, sorry, no need to apologise. pack 2 I installed easily on my server after a minute or two, but the first pack I couldn't add. Anyway thanks for making this second pack so easy to install with the lua files, and ignore my previous comment.
