i wonder why that is, maybe you got another mod that edits megastructures that overwrites my changes? it should just let you place megastructures very freely, i left some minor limits, like ringworlds around multi star systems, I cant tell you whats going on without much more information.

this github reposatory is where i upload the mod to for backups. i think you should be able to see it. I made a release for the 3.14 version to add yourself. Tho it is only half a mod. the easiest would be to create a blank mod in the launcher than copy the common folder of this mod into it. since there is no .mod. I am sure you know how it works.

Yeah I have just tested it with only this mod enabled and all of the megastructures no longer have an alloy cost and the build limits are back to vanilla. Do you happen to have an old version of the mod for 3.14 that you can upload or link? That would help out a lot

it should still work with 3.14 there where some changes to 4.0 but i dont remeber anything game breaking should happen.

Hey I'm trying to use this mod for 3.14 since I've heard 4.1 is still very broken, and was wondering if it still works for 3.14? I have this in a mod pack at the bottom of the load order but for some reason the Mega-structure cap is still their and they only cost Unity now. I don't know if this is because of NCS3 or something else.

If you aren't able to help that's alright, I was just wondering if you knew of a fix for it

this bug appears when there is a typo in the megatructure file, if this appears with this mod active only, then it is this mod, else its the other mod. i am unaware of typos in my mod.

Hello, I think I encountered a bug with the currently mod version. When trying this mod in isolation with a base Empire I noticed that from turn one the megastructure menu was available on the constructor ship and inside were four placeholder options with missing icons:

while it is not impossible to write a mod that has this feature, it goes beyond what i wanted to do with this mod.

but it might be that you mod didnt update or another mod is causing the issue. because i removed almost every rule from the file, the only things left are to ensure you dont build 2 on the same world and you build on black holes.

Looks like it's still busted. I wouldn't need to make a new game right? I fired up my existing save but I'm still getting "You can only build one matter decompressor"
Also, not that it really matters but the title of the mod has a typo, "Megastrcutures" instead of "Megastructures"

I think i fixed that issue with the matter decompressor. havent tested it, just changed the code i believed to be at fault

Works almost perfectly, the only issue I run into is with matter decompressors, where I can only build one.
I am also using the "Megastructural Engineering as a tradition" mod which might be the issue but that seems unlikely, since that mod should only change the requirements for mega engineering research, and removes the 2 mega engineering ascension perks. I'm able to build multiple of everything else, and the 1-per-system limit is removed, only the matter decompressor doesn't play nice.

I implemented a limit for the AI to build Science Nexii, the limit is set to 3 atm, if this is too low i can raise it again. At least , i hope it does, it doenst effect players so i cannot test it easly.

Late game the 6 AI empires I had went crazy building science mega structures constantly. Would be nice if you put in a limit, say maybe 3 per empire, or added the means for player to change the number at start of game....thanks.

Just want to note that while Gigastructural Engineering does have that as an option, it only applies to different types of megastructures. You could still not build something like more than one HRAE at once. I don't think this matters for your mod, but It might be good to update your FAQ section of the description to better match this.

I could only build one Dyson Sphere with the tooltip showing: "Cannot build more than one Dyson Sphere". It works after commenting out line 38-46 in your 01_dyson_sphere.txt. I just hope that doesn't break anything else down the line. Thanks for the great mod.

the mod is up to date. I try to keep this close to vanilla, some things may have changed or got bugged in ways i havent tested. i will patch them asap if anyone encounters an issue.

i did a little think that should make it so AI has less desire to build dyson swarms next to any other sdyson swarm or sphere. but i dont want to completly forbid it, for now.

the mod is still up to date of version 3.12.5 its just that paradox has again added a "v" infront of the version number so its v3.12.5 but the normal version nummeration is just 3.12.5 without the small v infront. it says out of date, but its not.

That happened cause there are no limits per planet. AI was juts "Quantum Catapult 1 love"

I changed it so that only one megastructure can be build per planet. not optimal as a sollution but there are so many planets i dont think it will be an issue.

Well.... Ai did it again. So nothing is fixed. Also I can build infinite amount of megas on same exact spot wich is kinda kekw.

Its was always impossible for a human, since you can't click the star once a catapult is build unless you start a bunch and never build out to stage 1, but the ai knew no such bounds.

I tracked down what caused this and fixed it. construction a dyson sphere requires you to turn of the machine age DLC or go the route over the dysom swarm.

This mod doesn't seem to work for Dyson Spheres after the 3.12 update. I am unable to build more than one. If I click the "Build megastructure"-button on the construction ship, the Dyson Sphere looks available - but no stars will accept the build order. If I select a construction ship and right-click a star and select "Build megastructure" then the Dyson Sphere is greyed out, with the message "Cannot build more than one Dyson Sphere"
