Works like a charm.

For those who think like @Hoshi there's this mod called Workable 4th Ring:
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3220078106
It does what it says, and so far it seems to work perfectly with Zee's mod.

Yes the in game texts are updated, you can see all the updated descriptions in the InGameText.sql file for buildings/units/governors/etc.

2 quick examples so you can confirm - Oil and Nuclear will say a range of 6 by default in vanilla, check them in the tech tree or build queue and the tooltip for those should say 9 and 12 respectively with this mod enabled.

You've got a mod conflict and another mod is overwriting the descriptions
xor 20. apr. 2024 kl. 15:09
Are ingame texts not update or is the mod for some reason not working for me?
It says "loyalty pressure affects cities within 9 tiles" while in the mod description it's mentioned it should be 12. I haven't checked other instances of the changes yet.

Quick question, are there any plans to rescale the "Breads and Circuses" project?

Loving the mod, it really helps to reduce the micromanagement on bigger maps.
Hoshi 8. jan. 2023 kl. 6:55
Hey it is a great mod, but I just wish there was a way to work tiles past 3 Hexagons, guess it is hard coded >_<
_Zee  [ophavsmand] 22. maj 2022 kl. 0:19
still works. i use it with many other mods.
ElusiveSausage 21. maj 2022 kl. 9:11
I'd love to try this but I'm far too worried about mod compatibility and it being outdated in general :(
d_iperione 7. maj 2021 kl. 22:31
Can you make a localized version?
Plerion 10. apr. 2021 kl. 13:36
Dude I could even gift the NFP expansion to you if that increases the chances that you update your mods. Your work is that awesome.
_Zee  [ophavsmand] 21. jan. 2021 kl. 17:26
Mod still works, just apparently not for the Maya.
I haven't purchased the Frontier Pass expansion so I don't have access to those files.
Working fine for other civs though.
Stull 27. nov. 2020 kl. 11:12
I really like that you have tried to make up for the unfortunate sideeffects the increse in distance brings with it. I relly hope this mod will be updated:SocialPolicy: to work once again :)
Vulture 5. okt. 2020 kl. 17:23
Screws up Maya unfortunately
Kitsune 22. maj 2020 kl. 12:23
Can you update this to include the Maya in NFP?
HeyNongMer 16. jan. 2020 kl. 10:22
This is such a good idea, since it`s the way I like to space my cities anyway. But I'm hesitant to subscribe until I have a sense of what other mods this might conflict with. My guess is it's the adjustments made to building ranges, loyalty and religious pressure in this mod that would be most likely to conflict with other mods.... Has anyone built a list of popular mods that don't work with this? Or that do? I'm thinking like Religion Expanded or mods that alter buildings.
wbwillis 10. jan. 2020 kl. 10:12
To my previous post, did the obvious and disabled all other mods and it worked. So it must be that another mod is trying to alter something that also effects radiation distance, would be my guess anyway.
wbwillis 10. jan. 2020 kl. 10:01
Tried this and 6 tile version. Both load, but don't seem to be having an effect. Found a post from another guy having a similar issue. Anyone else run into this problem?

= = = New discussion stickied - please read it. = = =
Solarus 28. nov. 2019 kl. 6:51
Same, 5 distance is too much for me. A ''4'" version would be very welcome.
Darth Balrog 21. nov. 2019 kl. 3:05
How to mod to from 5 to 4?
5 sometimes is too much to me. 4 should be ok.
Thank you!
Ingolenuru 7. nov. 2019 kl. 8:35
Thank you Zee
_Zee  [ophavsmand] 6. nov. 2019 kl. 19:18
Version Update Posted - No Changes Made.
Starfire512 19. okt. 2019 kl. 9:27
Yes, please add a 4 tile version of this. It would be awesome.
Nizou 5. okt. 2019 kl. 8:23
I'd really love also another version of this mod thought with a radius of 4 tiles
Ingolenuru 23. sep. 2019 kl. 10:12
Is there a way to change to 4 distance? 5 leaves huge plots unusable when you meet up with other civilizations and city states at the same time? I am going to try fewer AIs and fewer city states as 3 is just ridiculous city spam and I am using your Properly Timed Eras mod which is working very well. I get to build wonders that are not old news now.
BINARYGOD 17. juni 2019 kl. 19:22
They are going to have to allow deeper access, so to speak, to change the three tile limit for workable area/ districts. DLL access is what some call it (but I dont know if that is accurate, but I would normally assume so)
_Zee  [ophavsmand] 12. juni 2019 kl. 19:18
This mod does not change district max distance. To my knowledge, it can't be done.
SkyCam 10. juni 2019 kl. 10:34
so idk if i read this right but this will allow building districts and wonders 5 tiles away rather than just 3 there was alot described in this mod that im not exactly sure what it means the mod peaked my intrest but if it doesnt allow building districts and wonders past the 3 tile limit then its not what i want but i cant tell if it is???
BINARYGOD 3. juni 2019 kl. 15:25
Awww thank you, that helped to make my day. If you read that sarcastically, then stop that, and reread it with sincerity! :-)
_Zee  [ophavsmand] 27. maj 2019 kl. 11:11
Thank you for helping to police the thread @BINARYGOD.

His answer perfectly reflects mine.
BINARYGOD 27. maj 2019 kl. 7:59
You can still only purchase the workable area (3 tiles away).

To others - there already are multiple mods that do 4 tiles min distance, and they work just fine (at that increase you don't need the extra's this mod provides; even in the base game many of your cities are probably not rammed together at the min distance; so a min of 5 is where you would actually need to increase the range of power plants and the other things this mod changes.
Mo The Robot 27. maj 2019 kl. 7:55
can you purchase up to five tiles away?
Naemi 16. maj 2019 kl. 23:24
Hello! Is there a way to configure this to be only 4 tiles away? Both 5 and 6 make city planning frustrating on island maps. Thanks!
Shyning 4. maj 2019 kl. 6:14
Hi ! As the comment below me mentionned, I'm sure some of us would love a 4 tiles version of this map.
5 and 6 are too much imo but 3 is too little, 4 seems like a good deal.
Anyway, thanks for working on this, you didn't just edit a single value, you also edited everything else that got impacted by that change.
BKGamesPI 3. maj 2019 kl. 11:55
The 4 tile version would be great for small maps and coastal games, This mod really hurts Dido's ability.
Juggernaut-X15 21. apr. 2019 kl. 5:54
Great mod but i wish this setting is set back to default (vanilla) value "City growth by food speed decreased. More room for farms."
Rams0505 17. apr. 2019 kl. 4:12
Is it possible to get a 4 tile version of this mod? In industrial era and still empty land where border hasnt grown still. Or is it posible to increase the border growth even faster?
Burp Reynolds 7. apr. 2019 kl. 1:38
I meant to say that I like this mod. I was tired of AI settling on my doorstep and then crying about me being too close. As Canada I cannot attack them..or I would.
_Zee  [ophavsmand] 6. apr. 2019 kl. 13:11
Try the 6 tile version of this mod, link is in the description.
Burp Reynolds 6. apr. 2019 kl. 12:32
So I need a New Game, not just a Restart? 5 tiles from your city or your border? If I see them on my screen, they're too close. Is there a distance +10 or higher?
Elhoim 2. apr. 2019 kl. 13:33
Not without dll access, and might not be possible even then (it was never possible in Civ V, IIRC).
Not an FBI Agent 1. apr. 2019 kl. 0:41
So I'm just gonna ask here, is there no way yet to make it so cities can work beyond their 3 tile limit? The only gripe I ever have about distance increasing/city decreasing mods is the fact that some tiles will be in your territory but unworkable due to city placement.
Stargazer 16. mar. 2019 kl. 11:10
Okay, I might have miscounted tiles. I think I might have been counting between borders but not from the city center. I'll keep an eye on this.
_Zee  [ophavsmand] 15. mar. 2019 kl. 19:26
@Stargazer
Sounds like a mod incompatibility. Try disabling all mods except this one and see if the problem persists.

@Chuddly
I originally intended to change the Statue of Liberty's range, but the coding for it is really wonky and it was breaking things, so I had to remove it. I was unaware of the Jebel Barka (just had to look it up) as I don't own any of the civ or scenario packs. I'll see if it can be altered as easily as the Colosseum and hopefully its not like the SoL.
Chuddly 15. mar. 2019 kl. 16:26
oh never mind. Looking at the files I see the only wonder your mod changes is the colosseum.
Chuddly 15. mar. 2019 kl. 16:10
Thanks for the mod! Took some getting used to but I think its better this way. One question though, I noticed in my game that the tooltip for the Jebel Barka and Statue of Liberty wonders lists the range as still only 6 tiles. Shouldn't it be 9 like the other wonders? Not sure if maybe there is a conflict with some other mod or not.
Stargazer 15. mar. 2019 kl. 14:46
Ok, I wasn't sure before, but I just saw it happen in my current game clearly. Even with the mod installed, the AI seems to be able to settle where they please, even just a few hexes away. Is this by design or some kind of bug? Thanks!
Stargazer 15. mar. 2019 kl. 14:11
Thank you!
Axiom 15. mar. 2019 kl. 1:31
Yesssss, you're a total rockstar for sharing your preferred mod list!
_Zee  [ophavsmand] 14. mar. 2019 kl. 23:31
In response to many requests, I have created a Collection that includes all the mods (including from other authors) I use when playing Civ 6.

You can go here and subscribe to all of them at the same time with a single press of a button.
