Just tested using the Nexus download after unsubscribing here and my launcher and game work fine now after getting the ckm error. Saw recyclable arrows and bow when I quickly went to a forge.

For those new to adding a mod manually: the Nexus mod download is just the esm, the ckm, and a readme file so you literally just drag and drop them into Skyrim's data folder in the Steam folders in the "Programs (x86)" directory, not the my games folder in documents. Then play your game. It's as close to a plug and play mod as you can get without using the Steam Workshop or other mod loading service.

Just like @Zenixx, I'm getting an error on load saying "Failed to extract plugin file from ckm!". Haven't played in a few months, but this seems to be a rather recent issue. The mod itself seems to still function in-game as long as the mod checking process is skipped by hitting "play" right away. On my way to Riften, the game did CTD. Though, that may be one of my 100 something other mods acting up.

Can't load the game, an error with this mod is causing the game loader to throw an error message.

This is the 3rd mod on my list that has broken. Unread book glow by Dugglez, Spend Dragon Souls for Perks by Smitty, and item recycling by robinsonadam83. They all say "archive size bigger than entire mod".

I have the same error as the others commented below, it crashes the game while all mods are being checked.

why not allow even improved items to be melted but with some penalty like 10 or even 20% less resources you used to improve.

Bows like dwarven bows should only return one dwarven ingot! Currently it returns 2 which is the amount it takes to make the bows, so that is a bit of a cheat

As an additional note to Doubletap's comment, the smelter is shaped like a giant metal snow globe. It's very hard to miss it once you know that. There should be some coal on the ground next to all of them I think, so you can use that as reference point if you get disoriented.

@Peppe Look in The first city you go to where Dragon's Reach is. The black smith area there just inside the main gate, on the right hand side. There is a smelter there.

Can't seem to find the smelter, been going to loads of blacksmiths around Skyrim, yet to find it. Where is it?

Can you please add support for dawnguard and the Immersive Armors and Immersive Weapons mods?

Still can't recycle the Steel Waraxe.

RecipeIngotSteelAlt4 and RecipeIngotSteelAlt3 both take steel maces from the inventory. I have switched Alt4 to steel war axe in my version, but I thought you should know about it. Also I have used your code to modify someone else's mod. If and when it is published, I will be sure to include that I have paraphrased your code.

You can have trouble after setting your step out for the first time after getting 4 level-ups subsequently; all by smithing. Just sayin.

Nice mod, a suggestion: Make it unable to smelt quest items, it can prevent some complications that don't need to be.

Cool mod, except one problen: Ancient Nord weapons are melted down to iron despite the fact that they're made of steel, which makes no sense. They have the same properties as steel weapons and require steel to be improved, so I don't see why they'd be melted down for iron.

I love this mod. It is useful even though it should be in the vanilla but fair enough Bethesda.
