as other people have said, this mod only works in theory, in practice you will end up facing huge squads that simply don't make any sense in kenshi balance, while smaller squads will barely be noticeable, just stay with vanilla

This mod causes squads of more than 100 individuals to be formed at some point that destroy everything.... be careful

A hundred bandits chased me:steamhappy:

I know this mod is from a while ago, but wouldn't it make more sense to have Modded squads be composed of 1 to 18 members to make it exactly 9.5 members on average like in vanilla? I just don't see the point in making the max 19 and changing the average when you could keep the average the same.
Dropped you two awards because this mod is fantastic! Thank you! :rosebud:

Loved this mod until a horde of Shek flooded the holy nation and wiped everyone out including vendors and shopkeepers; wouldn't recommend as now i'm starting over again...

@bossanova iic there are different type of squads for those factions in vanilla game. Like, horde variation. So that's working as intended and happens only to these types of squads
BossaNova 15 iul. 2023 la 11:13
This mod does not function as advertised. What you actually end up with are absolutely gargantuan hordes, at least for starving bandits and fogmen. It makes me think that while the mod may well be properly adjusting the numbers, there might be a vanilla mechanic where squads join together. I installed this mid-playthrough, so my higher level characters were capable of dealing with the 50-100+ hordes of starving bandits and fogmen, but I imagine this makes parts of the map that were once easy zones impossible to travel through.

I'm unsure if I'll keep this mod on. I fear that stronger packs of enemies will quickly become insurmountable death balls. For now it's fun.

Be warned.

As great as this mod is. I've found that it's made practically every single spot on Kenshi a warzone. Hordes of landbats taking out trio's of black gorillos and anti-slaver armies. The fog islands and shrieking forest are both inhospitable because my computer can't take the NPC's. This mod is a monkey's paw wish granted. I have more people to fight and thus more XP to gain, but I'm running off 2 frames a minute.

What I'm saying is. Awesome mod, 10/10 would detonate my PC again.
TurtleStrong 13 apr. 2023 la 17:44
Are you still updating this mod style? Can you make a version that is still random but from 2x(high vanilla max) to like 10x that as a range?
✨Frankster✨ 17 nov. 2021 la 16:07
So, I've been bombarded by THREE hordes of at least 50~70 groups of Starving Bandits on the daily. Not sure if this is intentional running away from base seems to be the only viable option to avoid certain death.
kingdavis45 20 oct. 2021 la 23:40
I just saw 20 Beak Things. I'm not sure if it was from this mod or not but it was only one thing to do. RUN!
bondi 29 mai 2021 la 15:16
this mod can spawn mobs of 20+ hungry bandits, use it with care
KikiMofo 31 ian. 2021 la 11:14
Ahh. Yeah I just looked and it seems Skinners Roam does have giant mobs of Hungry Bandits. I just got surprised by it.
{LINK ELIMINAT}
It's something special. Luckily they really don't hurt you that much.

KikiMofo : sorry I don't remember. Haven't played in years. You can find the full list of groups updated in the images above. :)
KikiMofo 31 ian. 2021 la 10:28
Holy shit. I got mobbed by like 100 Hungry Bandits in Skinners Roam.
THEY HUNGER
Did you add that for funzies or is this an unintended side effect?
Mr. Anonymous 1 oct. 2020 la 15:39
Love this. Makes the world much more immersive and unpredictable.
( * )  [autor] 4 iul. 2020 la 2:59
Canis Majoris : it doesn't, as I manually edited each squad; it's not a global variable.
Alastor 3 iul. 2020 la 18:18
does this effect modded factions like a squad in cannibals expanded or mist ghouls or any modded unit's squad sizes
PewPewKitty~♡ 24 mai 2020 la 10:59
@v3ry c00l did you change the gameplay sliders away from 1? Because if so... I think that's what happened.
space is cool 11 mai 2020 la 11:32
idk if this mod caused it but how did I run into a group of like 100 bandits lol
smammered 3 febr. 2020 la 23:17
That makes sense. I think i noticed the shear number of squads of everything from bone dogs to bandits explodes. almost every inch of the desert was being patroled
( * )  [autor] 3 febr. 2020 la 22:10
smammered : I think it applies to all the multipliers, yes. :)
smammered 3 febr. 2020 la 22:09
so that applies to all the sliding multipliers for in the Gameplay tab right? For example: global squad numbers? Or the Raid size multiplier? Great mod btw. I lvoe mods that add diversity to a game
( * )  [autor] 3 febr. 2020 la 21:56
smammered : sorry didn't play this game for multiple years, didn't understand your question. Yes, if you put the ennemie's squad size multiplier to .7, the squad numbers generated by this mod will be lowered.
smammered 3 febr. 2020 la 21:52
No, I am referring to the squad size multiplier for npcs. Also, for the amount of squads globally (also, for npcs in the gameplay option. Does this mod effect that?
( * )  [autor] 3 febr. 2020 la 2:43
smammered : your squad size doesn't affect the enemies squads' numbers.
smammered 2 febr. 2020 la 22:02
if I put my squad size to .7, that means 1-13.5 right?
Actrazor 5 nov. 2019 la 22:21
I too love this mod but have to uninstall it. I also settled in Shem. And about once or twice a week a massive 50+ Starving bandit army invades my town, I can crush them for the most part and are awesome for training. but they constantly crashing my game. it would be awesome if the max amount for starvers was like 25 or something a bit more CPU reasonable (I run a good machine so it;s not a potato computer issue). I would just move to another part of the map but any time I happen across one of these swarms (I have seen one horde in Holy lands before), I'm likely to lose whatever progress since I last saved. And being settled in Shem means several saves a day just to hope to not redo everything every 5 mins. Any chance for a adjustment on starvers?.
soupybay 14 aug. 2019 la 20:06
This sounds like a bad idea.
ZoraergazU 7 aug. 2019 la 14:26
@doddger, honestly you just need 6-10 peeps with 30+ stats and good weapons and you are good to go
Doddger 7 aug. 2019 la 7:35
Lovely mod, but I have to remove this from my game. It was impossible to settle down and call it my outpost, here's what happened.
I decided to settle in Shem (lovely place, good resources and beak things aren't an issue with turrets). I started to build my place there and I dreamed of a walled outpost with farming and such.
Suddenly my frames dropped faster than a piano in a comedy act. I then noticed this horde of 100+ hungry bandits storming my gate instantly tearing it open, then it happened. My poor citizens and warriors alike were pummeled to death by thousand hits.
Great mod, will recommend to my masochistic friends.
Timesplitter 26 iun. 2019 la 12:37
Thank you for this amazing mod that I have included in "Kenshi: The World Divided". This Mod Collection has been fully tested and works perfectly. Thank you again for the great mod to add to this collection. :steamhappy: Timesplitter.
Guts 17 apr. 2019 la 15:44
@andmann that's because hungry bandits can normally show up with like 50 people sometimes.
andmann 3 apr. 2019 la 16:39
lel. So I just had a very fun encounter after installing this mod:

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1702563980

definitely more than 19 units ! can't believe I haven't had any fps drop
ZoraergazU 12 mart. 2019 la 20:50
yes.
but its ust much more rando amount of squads.
any number can happenn
Manbreakfast 12 mart. 2019 la 20:44
Is this compatible with your weaker squads mod for maximum diversity?
Brandiles 7 mart. 2019 la 23:14
Well done, checking this out now. Definitely beats manually adjusting sliders for squad sizes when starting out to have a fighting chance.
Nesano 7 mart. 2019 la 20:11
I love well-thought-out mods like this. It tackles realism and game balance in one fell swoop.
Selsun [Danger Dolphin] 21 febr. 2019 la 21:22
I love you.:cure:
( * )  [autor] 21 febr. 2019 la 6:08
Krontixious : thanks for the feedback, but I don't have time to mod right now.
I'll keep it in mind though.
Krontixious 20 febr. 2019 la 21:57
I have squad sizes set to 3x with the mod and I've been enjoying it so far. Only problem I have right now is that it also affects NPC bases and ruins. Went to take my first ancient ruin and there were only 4 spiders... It was way too easy. Also, I later went to take the Tower of Ninjas and there were around 12ish ninjas including the two with the bounties. Is there a way for you to possibly exempt bases and stuff like that? I'm not trying to sound ungrateful, the mod is great, just that this is a problem I feel. Thanks.
mdcpaladin 15 febr. 2019 la 13:59
or just let the big squads beat u down for toughess and defense
Krontixious 14 febr. 2019 la 13:15
@WombatCombat Yeah lmao. Was playing on 3x before the mod, but with it, now squad sizes are insane. So much fun.
WombatCombat 7 febr. 2019 la 12:27
3x Squad size or bust. Just got to learn to pick your fights
ZoraergazU 7 febr. 2019 la 5:25
@krontixius
yes
and dangerously so
i put mine 1.5 and i regret it, too much for a start character
Krontixious 7 febr. 2019 la 5:23
So does this scale with the squad size slider? Like, at default it's set to 1. So I assume without the mod the avg Dust Bandit Squad size would be 9-10, but it would be 1-19 with the mod. So would sliding the size from 1 to 2 make the Dust Bandit Squad size variation range from 2-38?
( * )  [autor] 6 febr. 2019 la 6:07
Pablo Escobar : sorry I don't have time to mod right now. I'll keep that idea in mind.
