This map actually came out more than 2 years before Beginners Guide. If anything they copied from me ;D
Sounds like your download went wrong. Try un- and resubscribing
(obviously you cant tell us ones your currently since i think a contracts involved)
I never stopped, I went into the games industry and am still doing pretty much the same thing, except now for AAA games (which is pretty neat).
So there's a chance you're playing something I worked on without realising it :)
As far as I remember, I used a trigger_hurt for the players and a trigger_remove for objects. It works in all instances I've tried it, but there might be an addon messing with the default player configuration, or the internal systems have changed
damn, well thanks for the support anyway.
You have a broken addon then. The bottom of the map has a trigger that de-spawns players and props when falling too far. If some badly coded adon interferes with that mechanic, your game can crash. Try to find the faulty addon and disable it.
is there any specific reason why the game crashes when any player falls out of the map? @ɒbbiꓭ ɒbbiӘ and i were playing together when it happened.
Thanks. I probably wont put this map under creative commons in general, but you have my permission to use this map and all assets inside it for your AS:RD map as you see fit, as long as it is non-commercial. Just please put a link to the original map in the description. And thanks for asking :)
Fact: This looks like a recreation of a Level from Sauerbraten, which I forgot the name(I don't play it for about 5 Y) but it's also made from randomized Shards.
It doesn't really. I just messed around with some modelling software and was like "huh, that looks interesting. I wonder if I can port it to Source". And then I uploaded it for people to have fun with it. I figured creative as they are Gmodders will find a purpose for it :D
I'm working in the games industry as a professional now, so I'm basically making levels full-time, but unfortunately not for Gmod anymore, sorry^^
Sounds like an awesome idea, but sadly I'm not active in the source mapping community anymore, so you will have to find someone else after all :p

I made it myself using a blend of a custom gradient and a generated sky in Blender
