Hey. Do you mind if I add your mods with others so that they are all compatible with the community patch mod?
WALT_DANGERFIELD  [ophavsmand] 27. okt. 2019 kl. 12:15
I finally put my mods on mediafire and I explain how to find it above because steam censors links.

Also I finally looked into Great Work modding and changing the slots would be a pretty big overhaul, overwriting each individual wonder. Much more invasive than this mod which only has to change a single line.
HolyMolyOllyPolly 10. aug. 2019 kl. 9:50
Would it be possible to make a mod that increases the number of Great Works feature slots so you can build all of them?
WALT_DANGERFIELD  [ophavsmand] 18. juli 2019 kl. 12:10
Because I support people who "have trouble downloading from steam ;)" here's how to recreate this mod. The original file is at "ck2/common/artifacts/01_artifacts_books.txt" and the lines about slots are at the very top. Copy just those lines and put them in a new file in your mod folder, something like "mymod/common/artifacts/00_morebooks.txt". The 00 will let that file load first and take priority. Lastly you'll need a file in the mod folder called "mymod.mod" that just says name="name of my mod" and path="mod/mymod". if you get confused there's a good page on the paradoxwiki about it and if you're still confused then i dunno.

My PC was down for a while so I missed some comments here.

First off this mod is embarrassingly simple, it's a uniquely named text file that overwrites a single line to increase the number. It should be forward compatible with all patches unless they overhaul the artifact slots or book systems.

Also if you absolutely need more book slots NOW you can just jump in the zip and change the number to whatever you like. Alternatively I'm uploading a 99 slot version, I'll put the link in the description above.

Steam doesn't seem to like mega and I don't have any other cloud services, so I can't do a manual download at this time, sorry.

Can someone give me the quick and easy on adding a whole bunch book artifacts to the game. Plus I would like to add in some easter eggs like the Kurgan's Two-Handed Sword, Connor MacCleod's Claymore and the Katana he got it....or that Salmanca Broadsword he nearly went to jail over. Plus funny ones like St. John's Middle Finger and St. John's Other Middle Finger. Swords from Heaven named Kenobi, Yoda or Skywalker......Books like Across the Universe, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Oh the great war artifact...Bang! Bang! Maxwell's Silver Hammer....

I like this mod. And I like your steamname; I too celebrate The State whenever possible. :steamhappy:
Rams 5. feb. 2019 kl. 8:35
Can you make it a direct download or describe whice file do you alter in order for me go wild in the number of book slots I get to use?
geigda 13. jan. 2019 kl. 15:57
@whitetigerrr do you have the university mod active? If so, that's why. That mod adds books in there own slot that add 0.5 of an attribute, so 2 equals 1 attribute point. If not, then I have no idea
Gooner슨상 13. jan. 2019 kl. 15:39
this is exactly what i looking for. thanks for a good mod.
meldoniy 8. jan. 2019 kl. 5:00
many of my books have "+0" effect
For example - "The Consolation of Philosophy" - education +0
Can you help to find why please?
Xaphan 2. jan. 2019 kl. 1:42
Would there be a way to tie the number of slots to learning? Something like half learning minus 8, maybe.
That would also make learning a more useful stat since it's... kinda less useful rn?
RustyR.Uck 1. jan. 2019 kl. 14:46
It doesn't matter how literate you are or how many books you have now, books and literacy were a bloody luxury back in the medievals. I doubt the typical French nobleman ever saw more than ten books in their lifetime, let alone read so many. Not only were books really expensive, most rather spent their money on something more practical and pursued a martial skill that would suit them better than the battlefield. Sixteen slots is already an overkill for most characters, unless you're a mastermind scholar with the erudite trait and over forty learning.
Guillermo Caliente 31. dec. 2018 kl. 11:39
i need more book slots, too. 16 is not enough and besides, i own like 70 books irl and am not a book person whatsoever. how can a freaking nobleman not have more than 4 or 16 in his library. THE GUY HAS A LIBRARY!
Sir Luis 24. dec. 2018 kl. 6:05
agrias you will be suprised how zealot some companies can be in space enginners i ran a private server and was held in high regard by the community but i was blacklisted listed whe i called out another server owner for admin abuse on the forums and the discord and had the community backing me on it but the higher ups of the community black listed me.
Tyrol 20. dec. 2018 kl. 19:42
Any chance you can do a different version that ups the limit to 32 books?
Bergie 17. dec. 2018 kl. 9:43
@chinaserf1
Well, it's hasen't been a long time since I went to the forums, but it's been years since I really read the posts and actively posted. But the moderators can be strict when enforcing the guidelines. There is "runing a tight ship" and then there is Paradox Plaza. :p

Aside from that, I do remember a moderator getting banned for talking to someone from a particular modding site.
Lenny_Froggins 17. dec. 2018 kl. 0:20
@Steelrain People are getting banned for what?
WALT_DANGERFIELD  [ophavsmand] 16. dec. 2018 kl. 17:57
the slots are for equipped books. i don't think there's any limit to how many books you can have in your treasury, but they don't take effect until you equip them in your library. which is bigger now. useful for long lines of hermetics.
Ritter Ayla 16. dec. 2018 kl. 14:17
is that how many books you're allowed to equip or how many you can even own in the first place?
=AJSA= Giver of Will 16. dec. 2018 kl. 12:49
yeah becuase who wants a mod that allows you to have a library of books, lol they donty want kids to read jsut play their games lol
Jodie_Miller (朱迪) 16. dec. 2018 kl. 11:46
Sweet, I made a request for a mod like this on the Steam forums
Steelrain 16. dec. 2018 kl. 11:20
Paradox forums are full of bootlickers because anyone who dissents has been banned
Das Boot 16. dec. 2018 kl. 10:13
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks being limited to 4 books is arbitrary. When I tried pointing out how nonsensical that change was on the Paradox Forums people came out of the woodworks to defend it.
Platonov 14. dec. 2018 kl. 23:16
oh then it's good.
WALT_DANGERFIELD  [ophavsmand] 14. dec. 2018 kl. 19:16
i don't think this can break anything. if they're using the normal artifact book slots this should overwrite it.
Platonov 14. dec. 2018 kl. 9:54
not bad but expect non-compatibility with overhaul mods.
E 14. dec. 2018 kl. 1:43
Finally, a librarian playstyle will actually be great.
