Thank you for this, I still use this every play through. It feels pretty balanced, especially with the collaboration loss in effect.

Hi, yeah it uses some of the existing research in game, Zero Space and Research Amplify (same as a normal research lab would use). Hope this helps :)

can't upgrade the node. Is there any research required for the upgrades?

Interesting choice. I might've put the power increase on the first upgrade rather than the second. Same final ratio, but no jump to 1:20 before dropping back down.

Corrected the description and added upgrade details.
It currently uses 50 power, not 100, I reduced it previously but didn't update the description fully!

It gives a 1 power : 10 research points ration
when fully upgraded gives a 1 power : 15 research ration

I won't be making a 1k version, I've already made a 5k version for those that want a fast paced game, and when this is maxed it actually produced 1500 research points.

can you add a 1k version to this? I think this would be a little more balanced, because of the high power demand. 1PP(PowerPoints) = 10RP (ResearchPoints) is a balanced enough imo

I know what you mean, even at x3 it feels somewhat slow, I knocked it down to 500 as that's in line with outsourcing and other research buildings, but i will make one that's 5k for those that feel the start takes way too long. I'll keep this at 500 and make a separate one and link it in the description, i can set that to 5k or whatever people want as it'll be an "overpowered" version

@enzovirus ... felt 'research' was always a way for devs to slow down gameplay to keep you playing the game longer and not returning it. Having this asset kept my interest as even playing on >>> game felt a little slow for me with few progression options, and most of those were only cosmetic. I would recommend upping the research to at least 1000 considering the early heavy investment in resources and power requirements. Finished all achievements, and this asset helps with sticking with the game longer now, as it quickly helps me move past the highly repetitive build order required for a sustainable colony in this game.

It wouldn't exactly be difficult for me to release a different version that does 5k, then everyone is happy, 500 for those that want it to fit the pace of the game, 5k that want to rush research early on before a colony is built.

@BrowncoatTrekky he wasn't the first to say its OP, this one building gave more research than outsourcing and several research labs combined. It was designed as an alternative to a lab, which produces around 400-600 research, 5k is about the same as a full dome of labs...OP

Dude there was no need to update this cuz of one comment. Least before there was a glitch. I have built extra power sources to power the node, which is enough of a sacrifice for maintenance. There is therefore no need for research to be lowered by 100%. Completely unnecessary @enzovirus & co contributor @Kenji_03

Thank you for this. I like small "advantages" vs using full cheat menus and this certainly fits that bill.

Personally, I'd prefer it if this made 500 or 100 research instead of 5k, but it's still better for someone like me who cannot cheat in moderation.

Will be replacing EMC cheats with this and trying the game with /less/ cheats -- thank you

Better news, placing this on one of the new research sites will indeed give this buiding a research boost.

Cannot confirm if it profits from research sites @enzovirus. It does however work as intended by generating 5000 based research points. I have loaded the save with this building a couple times and no crashes. That's a good indicator for me thus far.

Hi, it costs a lot as it doesn't require workers.
I'm impressed you can build it so early on, it was aimed at mid game but congrats getting it working so early on!
I've not checked if it works with research sites, those are quite new and I've got a backlog of mods sorry, if it does can you let me know pls?

Hopefully icons should be working, it has a custom build icon, no more borrowing the university icon, and has it's own upgrade icons t o get rid of invisible hexagons.

El Presidente, making it cost so much? Blowing a bit of cash on parts on your second supply rocket makes this thing amazingly strong.

Btw, does it profit from research sites?

Can you let me know if the icons are now working correctly, it should be the martian uni pic as it's research based.
I've also updated the looks so it stands out a bit more, looks a little different :)

I found it under Wonders, but the icon is missing for me. You can find it by looking for the text though. Thanks to the author for making this mod!

Hi thanks for the feedback, I figured it would make research a bit different, addingthe restrictons from cold waves and dust storms makes it different too.
Glad the csting is about right, you're exactly right, I was trying to stop people using it too early on.

I've had to rebuild my pc so can't actually get into the mod, but it should be in the same place as the normal research building or wonders. It might have an issue with the icon, this was something I was working on when my pc died so not had chance to fix that or update the look of the building yet.

Will be updating this in the coming weeks, the current model is a basic building, I have plans to tweak it to make it look more interesting and stand out a bit more.
Any suggestions on balance tweaks (if any) are welcome :)
