in the hd version, there are no drs files, all the files just lie in the drs and slp folders without any archiving, this is done for easier creation of mods

okay seeing the units in action they kind of clash with the games style especially the millitia and scout units also they seem to move pretty slow too

The Youtube gameplay video is pretty much useless due to the low recording quality and the constantly moving camera (terrain is okay, but the units are just an interlaced pixel mess). It is cool to have a video showing the units in action but please use a decent recording quality and keep the camera on a fixed view for a few moments...

To build off of what LeonardoDaPinchy said, the new graphics folder location is

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Age2HD\resources\_common\drs\graphics

Download the program Turtle Pack and open graphics.drs with it. Then select all of the .slp files from graphics.drs and extract them to the folder above, overwriting the previous game data. The new files will have the same name as the old ones, so don't get confused. That's it for the graphics. You can do the same to the interface folder. Hope this helps!

hello your tutorial is out of of date, there is no data folder, the terrain files goes in aoe2/ressources/common, the cliffs one goes into common/slp and i haven't found where the hell does the unit files goes ^^ if you could enlighten me on that part ! thanks for the mod terrain looks great

I really like the skin you made, it's really beautiful compared to the original, and a lot of them look more historical accurate (I mean, look at the original militia...).
Frankly speaking, I love it.

But, I like to nitpick, so…
Some unit are a lot harder to distinguish one to another (ex: light cavalry and cavalry archer, knight and heavy cavalry)

And also... I mean, pikeman with shields is… As far as I know, only Macedonian used weapon as long as freakin' pikes with big shields with the crasy idea 'the longer it is, the better!'.
It worked only in frontal combat in a phalanx formation, being bad for the unit manoeuvring and consuming a lot more stamina than other equipement, even when compared to the hoplite since they used normal spears that where a lot shorter. In the end, it's natural that such set of equipment was so rarely used during the history.

Still, good job for this mod.

To all confused, the data file for the HD version is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Age2HD\resources\_common .The graphics and interface are files in \drs , but are all SLP. You need a DRS to SLP converter (like Turtle Pack) to convert and it will unpack the .drs into .slp. Then simply backup the original folders, and extract the .slp files and it'll all work.
