I mean, I've been fucking with the AI on Imperial with T0 starting tech with ram and capture crafts (instantly goes for marines for maximum BM against AI), but thanks much for the even playing field. Question is, will the AI do the same to me...?

Thank you so much. Tier 0 starts are more thematic but were nearly impossible without this

Thank you, I was so dissapointed to try to play the game as a tech 0 only to find out that its basically impossible to win without massing dragons.

Yeah this is great, the Very Hard AI always stomps me before I build anything while I utterly destroy the Hard AI. This should fix that.

@Talezteller As difficulty increases the player gets less starting money, starting income, and smaller shipyards. The AI gets a large amount of starting cash, an income multiplier, a production multiplier, they attack more often, the bonus techs, and a greater chance of alliance. Monster nests are also a bit harder and give a bit more. Also on easy the AI is "stupid", normal is "normal", and hard and up is "smart" level. If you would like a mod changing/merging anything just ask :)

So what does higher difficulty actually change? Does it just give AIs bonus starting techs, or does it also add more things like income multipliers? So many strategy games fall apart for me when it turns out that increasing difficulty doesn't actually make the AI any better, it just puts a flat multiplier on its resources.
