I make most of my maps using the original 32 bit version of the map editor so that everyone can play them easily.
Occasionally I like going to the extremes with the abilities that spintiresmod gives me. When you get to the top terrace of this map you're at the extreme height that is possible. The first hill you climb is probably close to the max height of the 32 bit version.

Hi [4G] /-\(/-\|3 Il reste du gat ? - This is a map I made using spintiresmod. You and your friend will have to have it also to play it. Spintiresmod allows me to make the heightmap (dimensions) of the map much broader than I normally could.

im playing with a friend and we get stuck near the first bridge, we were just walking and instantly the cars stop moving :/

The largest map I've released is called The River. The river is probably larger than most maps. I suggested on it that players play it in teams. Overwelming for one player to play it alone.

I built another that was as large as the editor allowed me to build it. I had a large mountainous area in one corner, a large valley in another, a large swamp in another, and a hilly area in the fourth. Everything went well til I started adding plants and trees, and then it started crashing me out of the editor, and crashing in game. I could never stabilize it enough to release it.

You have to manually place the 4k patch into the game and start the game from it. Noticed some people in the discussion placed a shortcut for it on their desktop.

ChameleonHUM: I also made a Mountain Terrace #2 map that is higher than this one. And I recently made Across the Mountains and Across the Moutains Extreme that are similar but harder. One I made soon after this one is Delta Logging, you have to climb and descend river bluffs in it.

Hi Oberfeldwebel. You need spintiresmod to play it because the height map is higher than the game alone allows. So you hit a height ceiling at a height of 64, the map has a height of 256.

Map is Buggy for me,for some odd reason my Vehicles keep getting stuck on nothing. Literally nothing. They just stop moving and arent even affected by gravity

Released Mountain Terrace #2.
Where this is a one sided mountain, #2 is a two sided mountain. It is also a height map of 512, this one is 256.

I think my next map is going to be a second terrace map. The several steep cliff climbing maps I made are among the more popular.

I have a blank map mod created that is 78sqx78sq (this one is 50sqx50sq) and height map set at 512 (this one is 264); will probably change it to 264 before stating. Thinking of something more compact across the center of the map from corner to corner, with the lumber mills on the flats on each side. With possibly just log scavengers...

Sorry bilodeaum283, I use something called 'Dev Tools' (Developer Tools) that allows me to create and drive on larger maps than someone without it can. Now that I realize I can build beyond some people's limits I won't increase the hieght of maps anymore.
Hoping to release a logging map in the next 3-4hrs of a river delta; went low instead of high.

After reading a bit more about it...spintiresmod and DevTools are the same thing or very much alike.
jj2691, you think that is why the restrictions everyone else is experiencing isn't affecting myself, and anyone else with the mod?

No. But reading the discription of it on Mudrunnermods it sounds like it would be of help to me concerning map height and size.
I have a 126sqx126sq (2016x2015) map that I finished and couldn't get to work because it exeeds the 2mb ram restrictions of the game.
A concern would be Dev Tools, wonder if they would conflict with each other.
I'll read up on it later, and probably get it...

Yes increasing the height map does seem to be causing people problems. I've driven all over it dozens of times and never experienced anything like being described; hitting ceilings, invisible walls. I won't be increasing the height map on any future maps.

hey Sean, im having some issues with this map too is seems the hight is causing trucks to be stuck just after the first bridge, map looks ace but am unable to play it, thanks for your support

Ok bass2, I cleared all the watchpoints and drove around each without running into anything. Opened the map in the editor, made a few changes I've been wanting to make (added a few cut off roads at junctions and straightened another out, removed some grass/bushes from a road), then rebuilt the terrain, reloaded resources, and republished. Hopefully that fixed it...

Now I have to think of a different concept for a logging map. I've done two with cliffs, a swamp one, a fairly easy one with waterfalls a town and dusty roads.
What would be an interesting scenario for a logging map....? A typical trail map as a logging map? Scale down the cliffs and add rocks, rock bouncing log trucks? One with a combination of swamps, cliffs, rocks, trails...?
I don't like large maps that takes a lot of time, for myself or the players. I prefer smaller maps that has something unique about them. Small map with scaled down cliff roads, with rocks, with waterfalls coming down them feed by mountain springs.... That would be interesting to make, and to ride through.
