i have a issue with the spitter spawn which doesnt spawn anything and i can just run for the chapter like nothing even if i stand still no spitter spawns and i proved it in No Mercy and even in Dark Carnival and i want to play with a friend but this issue leaves the campaigns as super lonely beta map

Also, I'm 100% sure it's impossible on Hard Rain lmfao. Chapter 2 elevator crescendo is brutal.

Let me know when you post them. I'll definitely take a look. If nothing else, the mutation's pretty good for magnum practice since that sucker is meta for Expert. It'll be fun to see you show off on that front.

But either way, I'm not complaining. Thanks once more, and the video's sure are coming :) No Mercy took me hours to beat so mostly looking forward to putting that one out.

@Niels_L Hey there! Glad you enjoyed my little mutation. I’m not surprised there are some problems with it, mainly with scripted events like Tanks and hordes, but I can only chalk that up to my limited experience with coding mutations. I haven’t worked on any such endeavor in years so I’m rusty as all hell. There’s probably a fix, but I’d have to bust out my tools again and relearn it to make that happen. It’s simply not designed with scripted events in mind. I’m annoyed by it but can’t promise a fix anytime soon. That said, you deserve a medal for surviving all the campaigns on this mutation solo. I’d love to see a video of that one.

Completed all campaigns on solo expert without restarts :) Really fun mutation, even more so with friends.

Though there are a few bugs which have been described in the comments here already, but I still would like to summarize them:
- commons still spawn on the following maps during events:
* Blood Harvest, map 3 & 4 [c12m3_bridge & c12m4_barn]
* Cold Stream, map 1 [c13m1_alpinecreek]
* Dead Air, map 4 [c11m4_terminal]

The gate event on Dead Air map 4 is by far the worst one due to the amount of commons, making it extremely difficult to complete even on Easy.

Lastly, The Sacrifice seems to be impossible to complete due to the tank you need to kill in the first map to continue. Upon trying to open the second train cart door a message will display telling you to exterminate the tank first, but due to it not spawning this is impossible to do so.

But other than that, like I said, fun mutation which is definitely up there in my list of favorites.

railway bridge leading to saferoom in 4th level of Blood Harvest,
bunker door in 1st level of Cold Stream

Found a glitch. In the 3rd level of Dead Air, when you activate the van or go through the metal detector,

The hordes of Commons will still spawn, defying the entire point of this mutation and making it impossible to complete.

remake a champaighn entirly but make boxes u hop on and make it so the floor is a kill box :p way more fun

The mutation can be found under the Mutations menu, under four players. It can only be played as long as all players have the mutation installed, and you have to be playing it in a local server (since there are no dedicated servers runnnig the mutation).

Chances are you need to make it a local server, since there are no official or community dedicated servers for this mutation.

Huh... I loaded up the mutation using the "map MAPNAME testmutation2" command you mentioned earlier, but I can't seem to start it up normally. When I click "Start the Game" in the lobby, it searches for a server and the icon spins, but it doesn't find a server. It just keeps going like that.

Have you encountered any problem like this?

I did, actually. It should show up as "The Floor Is Lava." It does on my copy, not sure why it doesn't work for everyone else. That's something I'd have to look into.

ah i see, also i looked at the menu and saw there was a mutation called testmutation2, tried it and enjoyed playing the mutation. However is there any way you could change the ingame name for convenience reasons?

You may need to restart L4D2. To ensure it works, open the developer console and type in "map MAPNAME testmutation2". If it doesn't work, you did something wrong or it's conflicting with another plugin. The console will also tell you whether any addons are conflicting.

I'd have to look, but I don't think my mutation really takes that much space. Still, I understand, essentials only is a good mentality when you're tight on space.

I'm not gonna lie, I only really designed this with vanilla L4D2 in mind. It can and probably will conflict with other add-ons, namely mutation addons. But custom maps... I don't know; I haven't tried.

Not much I can do about bot stupidity. This mutation is best played with humans.

Atleast make a spawn timer or an acid recharge timer, I play on my own with bots and all eight spitters chase me only, I can't even start a crescendo without dying, unless somehow bots the spitters
