y'all don't get that by "Bulk is not something I can touch with a mod like this", the author means that the bulk sliders remain the damn same.
This removes the "bulk gain" from skills that would normally bloat your character.

If they still look "too much", just go to a surgeon and lower the bulk sliders.

If you still want to go lower, for some reason, look for a mod that touches the bulk sliders, or adjust them yourself in the FCS

Bulk is one of worst things in this game, especially any mods that enable passing 100 stat.

....but preventing bulk is the point. I already tweaked them.

Besides, if I want to tweak stats for a guaranteed masterwork (Just 101), then that kinda blows the ceiling wide open and starts leveling like crazy again!

Make sure it's a vanilla race, and that the mod is loaded below any other mods making changes to vanilla races.

No, it outright removes it, so there would be no tone at all. I know there is at least one reduced definition mod out there, though I don't have a link.

so like will my characters still get that little bit of muscle tone? or will they just look like they weigh 20 pounds and have never lifted anything above 20 ounces for the whole game?

Normally the game applies a texture to the body, with decreasing levels of transparency the higher your level.

All I did was swap the texture reference with the normal body texture instead. So it's technically still doing it, but it just looks the same.

how exactly does the mod stop the muscle definition from increasing? is it setting a model a certain way?

That's from the overly increased Strength. The bulk system does not handle going over 100 very well, glitching out like that. Which is why you should never edit stats to be over 100. ;)

That is bulk as well. Something this mod, or any mod, cannot help with. Muscled definition is the texture change that makes the muscles visible on the skin.

Bulk can be sort of solved with plastic surgeons, to an extent. As they get larger, go to a surgeon and lower bulk.

does this mod effect hiver's as well ? im having problems with my hive prince's shoulders becoming giant shelves with big old tree trunk arms underneath

A surgeon cannot fix the massive amount of bulk that comes form editing stats way over 100. Nothing can, beyond simply not editing stats that high.

That sounds like bulk, not definition. No mod can affect the bulk that comes with stats, you just need to limit your stat increases to closer to 100.

can you do this mod for nian saw because when i modified my stats it covered all the map with muscle definition and its an emergency i need your help

It still would. We cannot alter the bulk mechanic, and it will always happen no matter what. And if you set any skills that add bulk way past the normal limit, they're going to glitch out. Nothing can change that.

Science does not make you lose bulk. It makes you lose muscle definition, the thing this mod removes. No skill lowers bulk.

If I could remove bulk or at the least turn it down some I would do so in a heartbeat. But unfortunately it's in a locked area of the code, so we have no access.

ok thanks, so i am just stuck with a buged blob cause of bad game coding i gess. i did go to the surgeon but i still cant trim the leg and shoulder down to a natural size and females just will never look like females again. the devs have to know that the proportion are way off with this mechanic

As mentioned in the descriptions of both mods, it does not stop bulk at all. This mod stops the definition of the muscles, the lines that make them more visible. For bulk you still need to go to the surgeon.

sorry to further explain i ran both mods and still get hulk from skill lvls and need to get them resized but with other mods that boost stats past 100 this is hard and still get blobs even on trying to max the balance. IE waist maxed and most others to min and still a ball of glichy mass with most armors

You are right, the bulk contributes the most to said appearance. That said, it can be fixed with a quick trip to the surgeon.

I simply uploaded this and its sister mod due to someone requesting a version that didn't have any extra bits.

I thought the hulk-like appearance is all due to bulk and has nothing to do with muscle definition. Muscle definition is just a change in normal map of the model so it should only affect the cosmetic appearance in terms of slight bump mapping no?

So I'm curious, if the bulk is not changed with this mod, how does it prevent hulk-like appearance? Do you have a side by side comparison of a character both with 100 stats, one with muscle definition and another without to show that removing muscle definition will remove hulk-like appearance?

I imagine that characters with 100 stats with muscle definition but without bulk will appear very lean like Bruce Lee. :D
