It was the communities "cannon" name for Joker, before the anime came along and changed it for some reason. It's possible some called him Ren before the anime, but I only ever heard him called Akira, hence why I titled the mod that.

for increased bad-assery, I recomend using with the dual weilding mod by Iridar, the checkmate move is literally just a hold-up
