How compatible is this mod with HIP? (Or is there a HIP-compatible version?)
Teralitha 2 aug 2024 om 23:51
This mod causes your dynasty bloodlines to disappear that you add from ruler creation.
Papa Bear 18 jun 2023 om 21:17
Wow! Thanks! I really needed this to make my god like character. This will save me SO much effing around in the files.
XDbored  [auteur] 27 jan 2023 om 20:05
it would be possible but it would be a lot of work to track down every event that adds a trait and change the mtth on all of them, and you would need to make patches for every mod your running that adds events which add traits if you wanted it to be consistent, so it would be way too much work, and it would almost certainly get destroyed every single update, but the good news is there are no more updates.
Bio the Human 23 jan 2023 om 8:33
Good mod, but old characters end up with 10+ traits which imo goes into the other extreme, which isn't good either.

I think the best thing would be to increase the cap to 6 and just decrease the probability of the RNG event.
Would it be hard for me to do such from the game file directly?
kripkenstein 23 nov 2022 om 0:35
does it work with HIP?
Mansley 20 feb 2022 om 16:10
I took a look and its not compatible with elder kings. Elder kings makes some changes to the personality trait events file.
XDbored  [auteur] 11 feb 2022 om 1:15
idk if elder kings adds its own events in these vanilla files i guess it probably does not, but maybe it ads its own trait cap events for its own traits i would need to look at elder kings to be sure
darkstardereroberer 10 feb 2022 om 8:12
compatible with elder kings?
XDbored  [auteur] 7 jun 2021 om 7:21
it changes the trigger for the events to always = no so NPCs shouldn't get the trait removing events either
Blanc 4 jun 2021 om 16:46
Does this only applies to player or for all?
temperate06 30 mei 2021 om 23:54
thank you
Thememoryman 4 dec 2020 om 15:48
I don't know if its something with my game but I still get the events for the softcap just they are very rare. Playing with the Elder Scrolls Overhaul mod
XDbored  [auteur] 5 nov 2020 om 1:09
just did some testing, this mod is still working downloading from Steam, but there were a Couple of bugs in the NSE download that prevented the mod from loading which have now been fixed
John 8 sep 2020 om 10:40
I dont know why but game dont recognize/find the mod. I have the latest version (3.3.3), and I install it in the right place (mod folder of crusader kings II folder). I drag the file "Trait softcap exterminated" nothing happens. I drag the contents of the file, again nothing, the game still dont recognize the mod. What am i doing wrong?

PS1: I have ALL dlcs!
PS2: I dont have the ck2 plus mode, so no, I didnt pick the wrong version of the mod.
NotFox 31 aug 2020 om 15:32
@Gelcressor, have you uploaded the mod here? I have just started playing Faerun and would very much like it, but I can't seem to find it.
XDbored  [auteur] 28 aug 2020 om 8:10
Yes but you would need a different file for it and you would have to change the event weights so it doesn't fire all the time, unless you want the game to remove all the traits from every character
Father Ted Gaming 26 aug 2020 om 10:12
Is there a way to keep these events in the game, but to make sure they only come up as random events and not whenever you get over 5 personality traits?
XDbored  [auteur] 12 aug 2020 om 3:45
of course not i think its better for everyone when more people develop mods and share them i am guilty of doing the same there are some mods you just cant live without and if your going to make your own copy its nice to share it crediting is a must but letting me know is just a nice bonus thanks for that.

i don't think there is a proper convention for it but you should be safe legally in the case of paradox mods and as long as your polite which you are then you shouldn't upset people either.
Gelscressor 11 aug 2020 om 11:42
I made a Faerun-compatible version of this mod. Would you have any issues with it if I upload it on the workshop and credit you for the original idea?

I'm not entirely sure what the proper protocol/convention would be, since I'm new to uploading mods.
XDbored  [auteur] 21 jul 2020 om 0:09
no
Rodrik Forrester 20 jul 2020 om 19:10
does this work with achievements?
BlueDestinyPiss 24 jun 2020 om 9:02
yeb i just appear not so long after i comment
XDbored  [auteur] 24 jun 2020 om 0:16
all mods need to be enabled sometimes steam forgets to download them try closing the game unsubscribing and resubscribing then open the launcher again and it should be downloaded
BlueDestinyPiss 22 jun 2020 om 8:01
is this mod don't need to enble ? don't seem to find it in mod tab
TurboJ 10 jun 2020 om 4:31
Nice, thank you!
XDbored  [auteur] 9 jun 2020 om 19:37
just checked the files with the latest version and it looks like they are exactly the same except for my changes so it is fully compatible with 3.3.3 SOHY
TurboJ 12 mei 2020 om 1:38
Anyone care to confirm this still works with the latest version of vanilla game? Thx.
Arinthian 6 apr 2020 om 19:00
Of course! Asking you to support old versions would be silly.
XDbored  [auteur] 6 apr 2020 om 17:56
heres a super old version https://drive.google.com/open?id=1E9g1fbany47BTmw78qD3F4KHmo2vEScm

please don't complain if it doesn't work i don't want to download old versions of CK2 to support old versions of CK2
Arinthian 5 apr 2020 om 17:34
So if possible, could you please provide a link to version 2.3?
XDbored  [auteur] 1 apr 2020 om 0:24
Unlimited Lifestyle Traits is done my script didn't work with most of the DLC stuff so i had to do a lot more work to get the other half of the Lifestyle events working and life kept getting in the way so there were lots of delays but finally i have finished it there's a link in the description
Arinthian 22 mrt 2020 om 22:01
Unless you're missing a version, it sounds like I was probably using 2.3. Any chance you can hook me up?
XDbored  [auteur] 22 mrt 2020 om 17:50
i have 3.3 and 3.2.1 and 2.3 interestingly it looks like this is still the 3.2.1 version and no one has complained yet i don't like the like the idea of remaking obsolete mods but whats the other small handful of mods i might update them to 3.3 instead if there simple enough
Arinthian 21 mrt 2020 om 17:56
Hi! Odd request, but I'm wondering if you have previous versions of this mod available? My small handful of mods haven't been updated in ages and I'd rather miss out on some of the newer content then have my mods no longer work. I've had this mod installed for ages, but built a new computer. The last version I played on was 3.0.1.1.

Do you have any version from between 3.0 and it?
XDbored  [auteur] 8 mrt 2020 om 6:52
I came up with a few simple find+replace scripts in notepad++ that should be safe
i can remove the lifestyle trait limit and the bit that stops lifestyle event chains from starting while there is still a flag from one so you can have two going at once if your lucky and it means you still get events even if the flag somehow gets stuck

and i think i dealt with the DLC stuff idk though maybe some of it should be turned off needs testing but this new mod would conflict with the mods that usually turn those events back on so it needs to be able to replace them or you wouldn't be able to have both features
HansTheHuman 8 mrt 2020 om 5:06
Then there's the Way of Life DLC changes to take into account...
I'm so sorry.

I'm very grateful that you're doing this.
XDbored  [auteur] 7 mrt 2020 om 21:15
i already made the .PNG file though so i have to make to the mod now
XDbored  [auteur] 7 mrt 2020 om 21:13
ugh they have made it annoying alot of the lifestyle events are triggered by other events creating interesting event chains problem is that means i have to search for traits and the event IDs for other events triggering those events so i can change all the triggers to have them fire in order regardless of current lifestyle traits

otherwise the events would fire without the rest of the event chain and it would be more boring then vanilla
HansTheHuman 7 mrt 2020 om 13:55
Thank you very much for replying.

Others have requested it, but no such mod currently exists. In vanilla, lifestyle event chains will not trigger for characters who already have a lifestyle trait. However, it is possible to gain more than one by certain events that grant them despite not being lifestyle events, or with the Ruler Designer.
I wish you well in finding all the lifestyle events. There's 83 of them!
Legacy 7 mrt 2020 om 12:10
I don’t think so.
XDbored  [auteur] 6 mrt 2020 om 16:40
pretty sure i would have to track down all the lifestyle events and change all of them for that sounds like its too much for this mod but i could search for all the lifestyle traits in notepad++ and make a new mod that way is there no other mod already doing that?
HansTheHuman 6 mrt 2020 om 16:33
Could you also allow multiple lifestyle traits to be gained through lifestyle events?
XDbored  [auteur] 23 feb 2020 om 17:24
if only money was that easy to get if i had the money i would gift everyone 2080tis
Legacy 23 feb 2020 om 11:06
If I had the money I'd gift it to you so you could make mods sooner.
XDbored  [auteur] 16 feb 2020 om 21:01
idk probably but it depends on things like does CK3 have a trait cap in the first place?
does CK3 have a good enough modding API or will they lock it down so they can sell more stuff as DLC?

i probably will if CK3 turns out well but i would have to buy CK3 to use Steamworkshop so even then it might not happen until like a year later when its updated enough and on sale enough for me to think its worth buying
Genseric123 16 feb 2020 om 7:17
are you planning on transferring this mod over to CK3 when it comes out?
XDbored  [auteur] 22 jan 2020 om 0:22
maybe steam workshop is pretty buggy it does sometimes mess up mods the guy before you had to restart his game for it to download and i had to delete one of my other mods because steam broke it and wouldn't let me update it to a unbroken version

also keep in mind the mod doesn' remove every event that takes away your nice traits it only removes the random events that take a single random trait when you have more then 5 personality traits
John™ 21 jan 2020 om 18:01
None of mine seem to edit that file. Is it me, or is it steam messing up the mod? It has done that some times.
XDbored  [auteur] 21 jan 2020 om 17:51
its compatible with most mods but not mods that edit the personality_traits_events.txt file which is why i had to make separate CK2Plus and AGOT versions
