Ah yeah the distance of bouncing gets further the faster the ships are. But generally the frequenzy of bouncing is fixed and changes with game speed.

@mad-rooky It also has to do with the speed of ships. The faster the ships, that happens more. The game only loads so much trail a second. The bad performance of the game does not help this lol.

A reason why i wanted to use this mod is because of the bouncing of the trails which causes a kinfd of flickering image when watching fleets moving. It seems to be a vanilla issue that was already reported 5 years ago...
Now, i have changed the thickness of the trails down to 0.01 which makes them really thin and it looks actually much more like a trail from an engine. Most importantly it does not hurt my eyes anymore^^
Making the trails only shorter makes it worse, because the bouncy end is at the ships side and shorten the trails lead to a complete flashing of the trails.

@lufian it already exists, even though its an older version that isn't 3.6 it still works and is compatible.

@IronX5000 Ye its weird because some files are completely overwritten if you change one line of code and other files are dynamic in i.e they only read what you changed.

@IronX5000 Because there are certain files wich I simply cannot edit without making the mod ironman incompatible. The game just forbids it because these files contain a wide array of stuff, some graphical and some gameplay related.

The code wich determines the length of ship trails is in one of those files.

@fnix That does not determine if its ironman or not. Certain files are just not allowed to be changed because of other things present in that file. This is the case here, even tough it is only graphical.

My ship trails are flickering as well, I am using Downscale Ships mod and no Real Space mods.

@Zokolar It is 2.7. If you get the triangle anyway it means your launcher has not updated (because it is trash) the mod. Try resub or instructions at the bottom of descr of main mod page.

Been looking for this mod ever since reborn went down. Gotta say, this is one of the best mods out there. I really appreciate how you have gone out of your way to enhance compatability.

I get flickering as well. And I am NOT using downscale ships.
Using only NC2 and Mass Effect NC2 ships.

Yeah can confirm flickering even after some experiments, I'm using the downscaled ships mod which is probably my cause. Thanks for looking into this @Chickenhunt!
