Files are there. This mod works. You can check to see if the files downloaded from steam for you in the Stellaris launcher. locate the mod in your list and then You can open the file by selecting the three dots on the far right and pick Show In Folder.

When subscribed nothing is loaded at start up. Stellaris complains there is nothing on disk.

@ThePepperSlayer Stellaris engine also has a limit to what it can handle in terms of effects. If you are in late game and have gigantic massive battles you might want to switch over to the lite version of this mod.

I play on max graphics with a beefy PC. I don't even lag in the late game with large galaxies, but this mod definitely turns my game into a slideshow. I can't wait for a possible fix, love watching the space battles.

@ThePepperSlayer There is also a Lite version in the collection if you want to try that

I also heard about the new rockets could be laggy when huge amounts are spammed on certain settings and other mod combinations or systems.

I am aware of this and looking for a solution, I think its not that complicated to fix soon.

I had to disable this one, rockets destroy performance when you have any sizable fleet.

I just did the try, this mod to uncap particles and ASB turned off, the missile spam performed better. i dont know why, but the farther away the missile travels and longer the lines, the more fps hit i take. i think ill mess with my mod list and give a few more tries later. i feel i may have some incompatibility going on. if nothing else, i will have a try with Lite version ^^ , here i uploaded a couple short videos to show what i meant: https://youtu.be/YfGwNX2LFaw https://youtu.be/0o8kR7Mb3tw

@Lunar Starbreaker Hmmm weird, because it should have the same performance effect as if it where vanilla missiles. Do you have the same fps drop when you have ASB turned off?

Side-note: I don't know if you have a strong pc or not. If you have a "ok" pc or lower tier pc I recommend to subscribe to the lite version of this mod instead.

The line ones, i have something like 80 corvetes with 2x missile each firing , zooming out hurts my fps a lot when theres many of the lines on screen :P

Missile trails have been murdering my fps lately, is there anything i can do about them? the rest of the effects are performing pretty well for me.

@Zephyr The code that's changed is inside the stellaris "defines.txt". This is a dynamic .txt where you can change many things without the worry of much compatibility problems.
This file also contains the MAX_GFX variables.

Paradox has made this file non-compatible with Ironman games. If anything is changed in this file it is now ironman incompatible, even if the specific code changed does not affect balance.

The reason is because there are so many things in defines.txt that DO change balance, that they just made the entire defines.txt off-limits for ironman compatibility.

The owner of ASB said that (at least, the main mod) is compatible with 3.13 so hopefully this sub mod is as well

any plans on updating this to 3.13 or making it ironman compatible? Seriously why does this conflate with ironman? If there are more VFX instances by changing the config, you could alternatively mash together several sprite/objects into one this way you wouldnt have to touch the game files and checksum

I imagine it's okay but does anyone know if this is compatible with 3.11.2? Haven't been on Stellaris in a long time so I'm having to see which mods are compatible and which ones are not. Figured I'd try the easy way and ask rather than the hard way and test each mod one by one lol

it's great, but some weapons, especially the autocannons, seem to make end-game battles a bright, glowing mess.

Its an vanilla bug that was made very worse by the new dlc update. I already reported this to pdx and I expect they will try to fix this in the next patch. Atleast I hope.

I also think its something I cannot do anything about and suspect its hardcoded engine stuff

Not sure if the problem is caused by this mod, but I've noticed that in a lot of battles my ships will randomly shoot at the system's main star. It seems to be a graphical error, because even shots that are hitting the star do damage.

I'm only running this mod and UI Overhaul Dynamic + TOV2, so I'm pretty sure this mod may be the cause.

Anyway, no big deal, just wanted to throw it out there for posterity and in case it helps out the mod developer at all :)
