Not bad. I'd give you a thumb, but I kinda need both of mine.

My only complaint was how weak the player ship(s) feel, along with the indestrucablt vertizal lazer beam and random volcano rocks. Fix those by making them able to destroy with current firepower, or add power-ups to make yourself stronger, just like the original R-type, and my complaint would become null.

I'm just one person, though, and this did bother me enough to look for a working R-Type ROM for the Snes.

Pictomaru, you could get a good amount of mileage adding weapons and new ships into SSI. It'd be an ideal testing ground for playing with - or against - your creations, too.
