They work the same way as the vanilla traps

Sadly yes. But if you enable "Auto-rearm" Your colonists will replace it on their own. Just like the deadfall trap

Wait, so you have to deconstruct & rebuild every time you want to place a new one?

I made it so you can place bear traps next to each other

yeah I dislike the new way traps are handled but I do enjoy the resource cut, speed in building and the fact you can't place them next to each other though
