Citysets bugged after update, causes the UI to freak out :(
elvathelion 1. aug. kl. 11:30
I notice I still get a few "r27-gen entries" on ship selection during empire creation - something to do with NSC interaction?
elvathelion 1. aug. kl. 9:40
Thanks for this -- it is also very nice that the mod isn't 5 GB lol
Athena 8. juli kl. 16:24
Does it still work with 4.0?
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 14. mar. kl. 17:04
Updated to 3.14.* - should work again
Inerael 25. juli 2024 kl. 13:25

dreamalot062 8. sep. 2023 kl. 13:22
thank you for your service
SMN665 26. feb. 2023 kl. 19:08
Just gave you something more than a like and suscribe :) this deserves more views, when you can, could you update it to 3.6? Good work mate
halfkiller.rex 5. juli 2022 kl. 4:11
This mod should be immensely more popular than it is. It's essentially a repository of a whole bunch of portraits from other mods, some (most?) of which have fallen into disrepair. Thanks for this, mate!! :Gifting:
whenwrašk 22. juni 2022 kl. 9:47
why is this mod not more popular? it has the synthetic portraits everyone loves and actually gets updates. should be on the first page imo
Konvetur 7. juni 2022 kl. 16:26
Sad to hear, but still a fan of the mod!
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 7. juni 2022 kl. 15:07
No, unfortunately it is not. You can run ironman but there will be no achievements as the checksum is different
Konvetur 3. juni 2022 kl. 18:46
Is this mod ironman/achievement friendly?
Evilcouchpotato 26. maj 2022 kl. 11:38
FUCK YES! Breathing life into dead mods like the zeriphen one is getting you an award my man

Thank you for posting this!
Dax 12. jan. 2022 kl. 20:15
This mod is awesome! Was having trouble being able to see all of the species with the full list of other mods installed. This neatly puts them on separate pages so I can see them. Excellent work!
Captain 21. apr. 2021 kl. 9:21
Just went looking for one specific portrait and found it here, thanks so much for being the best kind of person!
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 17. aug. 2020 kl. 13:09
Hm, strange indeed. I just generated a bunch of maps with 30 empires each and did not manage to get any of the R27 portraits with random empires.

The only other explanation I have for what you are witnessing is that perhaps you have your own custom species made with that R27 portrait in the main menu and it was spawned into your game. Beyond that I am afraid as I cannot replicate the issue, I cannot fix it. Sorry
Thoromir 17. aug. 2020 kl. 2:12
There are no other Species Mod in my game :-)
The Species is a R27 Biological. It is a being with bubbles or little lights rising around it.
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 16. aug. 2020 kl. 13:05
Probably, what portrait did you get? And was it also listed under species as R27 species? Maybe you have some other mod active which introduces the same portrait?
Thoromir 15. aug. 2020 kl. 10:49
I have random AI Species with the R27 Portraits. Is that a bug?
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 20. maj 2020 kl. 8:33
Thanks, I will add that to the list. I am a bit worried about very old lists maybe not having names for the newer stuff like titans etc.. I will have to shift stuff around possibly and figure out how it is all set up, but I am sure it is not a huge issue
GenocideHeart 20. maj 2020 kl. 7:46
@Mindgamer if you're interested in namelists, the Alien Suns: Babel Fish mod has a massive collection of fairly alien-sounding name lists. I still use it, even though it hasn't been updated in forever, because some of the names I can get out of it are quite nice.
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 8. maj 2020 kl. 12:42
This mod adds new portraits to the game - it does not just alter existing ones. This requires modifying a file in the common folder which as far as I know disabled achievements. The only achievement compatible species mods I have seen are the dimorphism types or stuff that just replaces the images of existing portraits. I have not seen yet one that adds new portraits. If you know of any such mods which allow achievements, let me know and I will take a look and see if I can duplicate the effect
Laedir 7. maj 2020 kl. 17:39
If this is only portraits, why it is not achievement compatible?
CaptainKampfkeks 17. apr. 2020 kl. 15:11
@Mindgamer That's all I can ask for. In my current game I learned to appreciate thematically fitting name lists. Or rather learn to resent the lack of one.
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 17. apr. 2020 kl. 10:04
@CaptainKampfkeks - I am keeping this mod clean and limited to portraits but I am interested in good namelists myself and consider creating a different pack for them. I guess I will add Zeriphen on the list for that time

@johnthepatriot - I think I have randomization for them turned off so that I would not have to worry about my custom races having duplicates with random traits
johnthepatriot 16. apr. 2020 kl. 20:46
@Mindgamer Do these appear as primitives or are they *just* playables?
CaptainKampfkeks 12. apr. 2020 kl. 10:17
However, what about namelists? The Zeriphen mod, for example, included a heavenly namelist, which, sadly, is not offered in any form by another mod.
CaptainKampfkeks 4. apr. 2020 kl. 9:15
I understand. Then I will switch to this one as the others, especially the Zeriphen, haven't been updates since 2 years.
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 4. apr. 2020 kl. 9:14
Unfortunately I do not know the game mechanics and modding well enough to keep alive all the additional functionalities in these mods. Paradox overhauls game systems every now and then which would require updating those mods to reflect these changes but that would take just too much time. The portraits part is pretty static and it is much easier to keep alive. Thanks for the good words though.
CaptainKampfkeks 4. apr. 2020 kl. 5:23
You are doing gods work to keep those portraits alive.
Although I want to ask, would it be possible for you to make a seperate mod that also includes the traits? Specifically, I loved the Zeriphen and Hollow mods, not only for their epic portraits but also for their unique playstyle.
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 31. mar. 2020 kl. 9:49
It is pretty annoying, I agree.. if possible I'd like to get it fixed
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 31. mar. 2020 kl. 9:48
I can reproduce it.. but I thought this is a more general issue or with all portrait mods. I have not specifically tried out other portrait mods lately though. Are you saying other portrait mods work OK for you? If yes, could you give a name of a portrait mod that works?
Quwertzuiopp 31. mar. 2020 kl. 6:39
For some reason I can't generate any names for the species added by this mod. It's just these species, all others work fine when you press the random button, but with these species it just stays blank. If you write in your own name and then press random, it also doesn't change, so it's not overwriting the name with an empty string, it just doesn't write anything at all.

This is with only this mod enabled and nothing else. Maybe I'll look into it tomorrow and try to find out what exactly causes this, if I do find out I'll make a patch and pull request on github. I don't know if I will have the time for this though, so you should look into that yourself, if you can reproduce the bug.
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 21. mar. 2020 kl. 11:32
Updated to 2.6.*
Philipp 20. mar. 2020 kl. 11:19
Thank you
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 20. mar. 2020 kl. 10:30
Will take a look tomorrow and get this updated
ZokRadonh 20. mar. 2020 kl. 7:43
I have played with it for some hours already. I think we can just increase the compatible version number.
Philipp 20. mar. 2020 kl. 2:28
Will we see an update of this great collection?
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 12. nov. 2019 kl. 14:12
Mod updated thanks to changes made by @ZokRadonh. Lithoid support added.

- If Lithoid DLC is not available, Lithoid portraits appear in a separate section as a biological species just as they have so far
- If Lithoid DLC is available, the Lithoid portraits appear in a separate section as Lithoid species. The same portraits will ALSO appear under BioFake category for those who want to use the portraits with Biological species
- Renamed BioMech section to BioFake as they now contain biological versions of Mechanical AND Lithoid species portraits
- BugFix: One could make an invalid mixed empire. Bio Ethics with machine pops, which leads to very unbalanced starting conditions (negative monthly credits, etc).
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 12. nov. 2019 kl. 13:35
No, it does not add namelists, just the portraits and some rooms
Black Rabbit 3. nov. 2019 kl. 17:21
Does this mod add the namelists to the species?
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 26. okt. 2019 kl. 14:07
Updated the mod to v2.5.0 Shelley. Only the version number was bumped so it should be fully working for anyone still on 2.3.3. It will show as outdated in your old launcher, but you can still use it.

People on the latest version of Stellaris should have no warning at all any more.
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 6. okt. 2019 kl. 13:09
Mod updated thanks to changes submitted by @ZokRadonh. 4 more Silfae's expanded synth portraits added and some bugfixes included. Please let us know of any issues you come up against in the new version
TheGloriousBrit 14. sep. 2019 kl. 4:19
ah nice, thanks for replying, I was just wondering :D
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 14. sep. 2019 kl. 0:24
All the species classes are also included under "non_randomized_portraits" at the moment. This means they will not be used for generating random empires. However If you manually craft an empire and set it to spawn, it will be used by the AI.

This mod is mainly intended for crafting custom empires for the user and the AI which you would always recognize in your games. If the portraits were also used for random species generation, it would result in empires which use the same portraits as your custom empire - but with different personality and traits. So - to keep the experience with your custom empires consistent, the use of random species generation is disabled.

I will check out the mod you recommended as soon as I can
TheGloriousBrit 13. sep. 2019 kl. 15:33
Oh nice collection, if you ever wanted to add more you could add 'Alien Suns' Animated Portraits but just an idea :) oh just wondering does the ai spawn with these? or is it only player created empires
ZokRadonh 17. aug. 2019 kl. 16:25
Perfect. Works now. I will provide a Pull Request for some minor fixes. And later another pull request for some portraits from another mod (originally from silfae?) that fit into this scheme.
Mindgamer  [ophavsmand] 17. aug. 2019 kl. 5:37
I made the suggested fixes and the project is now available on Github:

Thanks @ZakRadonh, I will look into the fix and making the plugin public
