Now we just need an upgraded model that switches between heater and cooler depending on the room temperature. (I know there are some with a split colour that do this, but it looks kinda dumb, and I'd rather have it switch instead)

Also, I am assuming this unlocks at the same time as heater in the tech tree (electricity)

I know I'm late to the comment section, but its amazing how the technology of putting the condenser on the roof never made it to the rim apparently.

Yup. This works like it should with 1.3 and Ideology it seems.

If you are annoyed with the mod being incompatible with the game version according to the modlist and such, just add

<li>1.3</li> in the About-file in the About-folder.

never mind. I tried fixing it myself but I don't think it actually can be fixed.

@LingLuo There is a white border around the image. You can actually see it in the preview picture above (the black outline of the heater blends with the battery but the cooler does not). it looks like a badly cropped image from photoshop. please fix.
Also the default temp should stay at 21 degrees since most of these will be to cool the base, not freeze.

Can you default the coolers to be cold rather than 21 degrees.

Maybe it takes in the thermal energy and stores/uses it as a means of powering its function, but you have control at how much it does that by powering it with some energy yourself!

Think of it as a mini-split system. Heat exchanger inside and heat exchanger outside, with a platinum thermocouple running between them.

This technology isn't even new. Running a thermocouple through double-granite walls shouldn't be a probelm.

In the real world, hot -> cool can be flipped to cool --> hot with the flick of a switch, so you give it a temp range and it maintains temp to that range +/- a couple of degrees.

Nice idea. Maybe add pipes to lead out the heat to a device outside?

let's assume that this cooler is attached to an exhaust hose that leads outside. It's just that this hose isn't rendered (made visible in the game).

a few suggestions, If you want to make this good mod better, take some inspiration from the Vanometric power cell. (This technology is developed by archotech AIs we don't know how it does the thing) (must be acquired as a world quest item) (buff it's effectiveness just a bit) (either takes a lot of energy or none depending on how scholars think it works but I suggest the no energy due to rarety and thermodynamics)
Potential idea: "scholars think it works as an energy well, similar to a black hole. keep away from electronics." It acts as an EMP for electronics from how it works.

Its called a fan. you should make it so its just a frame, no insieds, open through the direction of where the vents were and line it with that blue and it would look pretty cool, like one of those $200 fancy ones
