i managed to find one its the m40 gas mask, but unfortunately i underestimated how fast and strong the 6 would be and died lol but good so far i like this scenario not only for fun but for the fasct that its a huge map that i can take my time moving through

Yep, I can confirm. Just keep trying. You'll get it in the end. Find a good side to drive in from, jump out with minimal gear, run up, fight, get the gear, fight, get out soon as you can. If you got partway through in good health, save and repeat from there.

You need a black gas mask (find in loot), unfortunaly the script allow just 1 protective item so the green founded on corpse not work, if you are full health and light (drop your big bag) you have the time to run inside the building, there a crate with a gasmask, just save and retry.
Or the area around the building its an industrial area, check the building around (its a big place), you will find a gasmask for sure.
You can't fight the gas, it just remove hp over the time if you are inside the toxic area, you just need First aid kit to recover hp or eating.

am i missing something i found where im supposed to go but cant get close due to the gas i found a gas mask and put it in but still died in the gas. and how am i supposed to fight the gas once ive inhaled it?
