i would like to second the issue that this script seams to cause frame issues on larger player counts, i would like to know if anyone finds a fix

@ALIAScartoons Heya. Just an update on the use of this on a dedicated server. This is what the server log says during the massive fps drops:

23:05:14 Tried to create group while group limit is reached on side Game Logic

Probably about 30 entries repeating that same error. Might help you get it working lawlessly on dedicated for big groups.

I love this script. Played with it on our server last night. 20 players. Unfortunately it causes a huge FPS drop (unplayable). This drop also happened with only 4 players on a test mission but I thought that was a server trigger problem. I assumed wrong. Luckily it was at the end of the mission so we only lost 10 minutes. It would be nice to know why this happens to try and understand and fix it.

any way to remove the stun effect so players can actually move still once attacked? Or is my game just having problems, because when i get attacked my character just starts walking and i cant run anymore.

@ALIAScartoons I'm having an issue after the entity spawns, there is a sound error causing no audio to come from the entity and instead of being invisible he appears as a pure black AI w/ the effect surrounding him. Any help is appreciated!

Hello, i have a problem. Trying to implement it on a public server via trigger. When spawning, everyrhing is okay, but when strigoi starts moving, it spawns tonns of invisible HeliPads and it starts to lag really hard. I don't see this problem, while testing it in Eden it's just a VR object moving. Is it fixable? Or can i somehow block that HeliPad spawning

Love your stuff, but im getting an error when approaching strigoi on my exile server, it says sound not found, but he is still visible with no audio, any ideas?

@ALIAScartoons I'm looking for a way to activate the script on command and I'm running out of time, so I though I could just set the mission a minute before the nighttime trigger to make it spawn
but I need to know what does the script consider nightime, could you specify?

Alias, I have looked at strigoi.sqf lines 25-55 and still cannot understand how you made the Strigoi entity have a glossy/transparent appearance with the warping particle effect. I am sorry for my incompetence, can you help me?

I am trying to apply the same visual effects onto a character.
(I will include your Strigoi mod as part of the credits)

This script blends perfectly with Livonia's (current) ambient noises, as well as said map's vast forests.

so i just set it up again and it hasnt worked, i tried to execute the code in the escape menu whilst in game, it told me there was an error on line 6

im unsure whether i have the sound definitions, i assume so as i copied all the files and double checked that, and no i do not use ace, knowing me i've made a stupid mistake somewhere, sorry to be bothersome :D

demo works fine but i get no error message, as soon as i copy over the files to a different mission it just doesnt appear

hey, might just be me being dumb but i installed the script on a quick test mission on altis, copied and pasted it without modifying it at all and Strigoi doesnt seem to appear at all, i watched the videos and tried my best to copy them so i could get it running but all to no avail, any ideas? im totally stuck :/

Hello ALIAS!

I love this mod!
I am trying to figure out how to set a unit to appear just like your Strigoi to popup on players.
Your Strigoi has a glossy/transparent appearance with a 'warping' particle effect, I am trying to create a unit in a mission that appears just like it (for jump scares and story exposition). What parameters do I set the unit texture and particle effects?

I think I figured it out
I replaced
player setDamage ((getdammage player) + damage_strig);
in the tgt_attk.sqf with
_selection = selectRandom ["body","head","hand_r","hand_l","leg_r","leg_l"];

[player, 0.2, _selection, "stab"] call ace_medical_fnc_addDamageToUnit;

* tweaked the script so initserver.sqf and initplayerlocal.sqf are no longer required so is simpler for beginners to implement
