This is one of the simplest yet best mods. An update or even a clone of this would be very popular.

Spanish and Portuguese only the lower classes could mix . The Casta system was complex and not tolerant at all.
Drago Duval 5. feb. 2019 kl. 17:12
Goodness sake, why is it not already in the main game ??

Updated: Bonuses now granted through hidden events (game runs faster this way) and added new bonuses to account for how different colonies deal with other religions.
Coming soon: coding so the the AI will choose different Native Policies based upon their religions as well as their countries historical preference.

Great mod! Really like it!

@reddbane - Could you make it possible for the mother country to decide whether or not to create the colony in the first place or whether to create it further down the line when it has developed more? When I say developed more, to have it as an actual option/decision that the player can tick once sufficient objectives have been met.
Aaronthelemon 29. maj 2018 kl. 12:13
Works now, good stuff.
madiunicorn 28. maj 2018 kl. 22:59
@reddbane Yeah, it's good. Thanks.

Cossacks enables Native policies; without this mod would do nothing.

@Hatchet
@madiunicorn
I re-coded the lua files from scratch, see if that fixes the problem.
Muad'dib 26. maj 2018 kl. 8:50
yeah, work perfectly well now, thank you very much for this very nice mod :)

Good I make sure to tell anyone else.
Muad'dib 26. maj 2018 kl. 7:14
i deleted the defines.lua file and now it work, so its related to this file

Colonial nations have a -80% culture conversion cost modifier? Wow. I thought they were literally coded to specifically culture-convert everything no matter what. I need to test granting this to my mod subject types and see if I can get the AI to culture convert stuff despite not being a colony.
Muad'dib 25. maj 2018 kl. 21:32
I just tried, uninstal via steam, delete the folder in my steam folder, reinstall, still doesn't work, i don't understand :'(
reddbane  [ophavsmand] 25. maj 2018 kl. 19:40
Have you tried a fresh install?
Aaronthelemon 25. maj 2018 kl. 19:33
Same issue, still get CTD with only this mod enabled and while owning/having active all expansion DLC.
Muad'dib 25. maj 2018 kl. 17:06
strange cause i have all the expansions, really i don't understand
reddbane  [ophavsmand] 25. maj 2018 kl. 16:01
@Pablo esgrossebar
If you disable all mods (including Native Policies Guide Colonial Subjects as well) then it's a problem with the base files; if just Native Policies Guide Colonial Subjects is enabled, and it crashes, then it may be a missing DLC conflict. Just to be clear, this mod was developed upon a copy of EU4 with all the gameplay "Expansions" installed on the base game, so if you are missing any of them (aside from cosmetic DLC, of course) that may be the conflict.
Muad'dib 25. maj 2018 kl. 15:36
i disabled all my mods and check the files via steam, but nothing solve it, style the same error, maybe a DLC conflict ?
reddbane  [ophavsmand] 25. maj 2018 kl. 15:08
@Aaronthelemon
@Pablo esgrossebar
I have no idea, the only thing I can think of is some kind of mod conflict. Just for the sake of testing could you try enabling just "Native Policies Guide Colonial Subjects" alone with all other mods disabled? If the game starts with no Crash then we know it's a mod conflict; also make sure not to boot to a savegame through the eu4 launcher. If it is still crashing then it must be some conflict with the base files that are somehow different than the one's I'm using.
Aaronthelemon 25. maj 2018 kl. 14:33
I get a LUA error and instant crash, have all core dlc.
Muad'dib 25. maj 2018 kl. 13:55
same problem than hatchet, some lua failure and instantly crash

@Nexram
Any time you want to directly download a Steam mod, or the mod is not auto-downloading, use this:

Chairman Meow (JP) 25. maj 2018 kl. 13:11
@Nexram

Clear out your mods list, load the game then try again, it should pop-up

@All

I'm having no crashing issues if it helps.
Nexram 25. maj 2018 kl. 13:05
mod not downloading, this is a issue with alot of mods for me any ideas how to fix this?
reddbane  [ophavsmand] 25. maj 2018 kl. 12:07
@madiunicorn
Then I have no ideas. This mod doesn't overwrite any of the game files, so I don't know why it would cause said crash.
madiunicorn 25. maj 2018 kl. 1:33
mine crashes and i have cossacks.
reddbane  [ophavsmand] 24. maj 2018 kl. 21:21

My game crashes immediately upon launch, citing some sort of LUA Script failure. Does this require some sort of DLC to function?
reddbane  [ophavsmand] 24. maj 2018 kl. 18:18
@yorkzachary29
In the vanilla game, however, Native Trading Policy is probably the better one in the long run (and the one most veteran players choose). As even with -50% native uprising the natives rarely revolt, and the Native Assimilation buff means that's all your colonies produce more trade goods, that is to say they funnel more money to your home node, as the main benefit of colonies is the Trade value they produce.
My aim was to make the choice between policies more dynamic, and produce different results within the colonies you create.
yorkzachary29 24. maj 2018 kl. 10:12
i mean in vanilla native coexistence is busted, the onyl time to take trading is when ur france and can keep the clergy interaction "missions to the new world" on all the time. As the french idea stacked with this gives -50% native uprising chance plus the -50% gained from tading policy. Basically, the only time you take anything but Coexistence is this one instance, OR youre playing a nation that colonizes on their home continent, ie russia brueni or natives and can use tghe bonus settler growth from repression. Otherwise i found investing armies in protecting colonies is too expensive. This mod gives actual motivation to take other native policys. looks great.
reddbane  [ophavsmand] 24. maj 2018 kl. 10:02
@Elements08
Mayhaps. Paradox has said the AI can't handle native revolts; this mod will just mean you'll see a lot more native cultures survive until the end of the game.
Elements08 24. maj 2018 kl. 7:24
is it just me or does the AI always choose native coexistence policy every game?
madiunicorn 23. maj 2018 kl. 22:02
nice mod.
Tetragrade 23. maj 2018 kl. 13:39
This sounds kinda neat.
