It is because sea battles are hard coded so that sync-kills won't play whatsoever, which means that with this mod they will effectively fight for the rest of eternity once they get into melee.

I read negative comment about this game but still bought it but before starting the campaign, I looked for mods that will add flavor to this game. I'm lucky to find this one. By far one of the best battle mods out there, better than other battle mods in atilla and rome 2.

PS: tried playing custom battle first without mod, it was bad, real bad. Tried this one and made the game much better. Now I'm off to campaign :D

From my experience, this mod doesn't penalize higher tier units at all - in fact - I believe it actually makes them survive longer, if anything.

Since no one can get attacked by more than 1 person at a time, a higher tier soldier can simply kill a lower tier soldier in the middle of the battlefield without intervention, and then move on to the next, until one of them is lucky enough to kill him. Stark contrast to vanilla, where if someone is out of position, they will get stabbed down pretty quickly regardless of their skill level.

does this mode penalize tiers 3 units against tiers 2 and 1 ? Cuz I love this mod, I have a same on Rome II and I have a feeling that my best units die more, but thats just a feeling

So essentially, copy Combat 69 and the animation coding it contains OVER Combat 70. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T FUCK UP THE FORMATTING. Then after you copy paste it, change Combat 69 to Combat 70, this means you've essentially replaced Combat 70 with Combat 69 and made Combat 69 more frequent.

You can't add the same animation line twice because that will do nothing. what you can do is...I did a work around this not really sure how to explain this.

Say there is a line..something like Combat 69 and the animation coding it contains.

You want Combat 69 to be more frequent and at the same time you don't want Combat 70 to exist.

What you do is. Simply copy Combat 69 over Combat 70 and change all instances of the word 69 to 70 in the Combat 69 lines.

Can i ask you one more question ? If i write on pack file manager the same animation line twice or even more times, will that make the animation appear more frequently or is it inconsequential ?

Naval battles being broken due to this mod is a bit of a shame, but personally I don't mind it too much, seeing how I rarely even get those types of battles anyway, and the actual land battles look freaking gorgeous now. Honestly I'd put more blame on CA, for apparently hardcoding naval battles to exclude 1 on 1 death animations for reasons I couldn't even begin to fathom.
