holy cr4p. well, thank you for clarification, I would never have figured that out.
I mean, slave robes get coloured without that (coloured) in the name.
Miss Lead strikes again.

Thanks, this will maybe finally solve my issues :)
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 13. feb. 2023 kl. 8:39
I meant specifically the item's name. My guess is you were using an item that could not be coloured.

Keep in mind that some items have non-colourable and colourable variants. For instance Armoured Rags, the ones just named that cannot be coloured, you have to get the ones with the (coloured) in their name.

And having (coloured) in its name does not mean it is already coloured, it means it is an item capable of being coloured (though not all colourable items will have that in their name).
sir Evans 13. feb. 2023 kl. 8:32
pants, armour... dunno, just what I had on hand. Gi even.

Anyway, I just bought some pants from the trader and... them despite being already (colored) when I placed them on a cagey they did change colour.
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 13. feb. 2023 kl. 8:23
What item were you trying to colour?
sir Evans 13. feb. 2023 kl. 8:22
So I've tried that as well. I sold it to the Fabulous Fabian and closed trading inventory. Upon reopening my item was gone from traders menu. Could not buy it back.

But I have tried freshly crafted items of many types on cages professionals and it just does nothing. No matter if the mod is on top or at the bottom of loading order.

I just... I dunno what to say. Seriously, the idea is great, shops are nice, color variety is decent. But it just does not work for me xP
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 13. feb. 2023 kl. 8:12
There is a whole wiki article on how this system works.
https://kenshi.fandom.com/wiki/Colour_Scheme

But in essence, you literally just equip the item to the character with the colour assigned. But, the item must be one that can be coloured, and it must not already be coloured. If it is coloured already, then you have to sell it and buy it back to clear the colour.
sir Evans 13. feb. 2023 kl. 8:09
I've never managed to use this mod to color anything, despite playing with it for years. For shop mostly.

Still I have no clue how to use it.
I place pants that are colourable on an npc in cage. Nothing happens. I close its inventory and take it back, still the same colour.

I dunno, it's just... missing explanation in game for how to colour that stuff.
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 22. nov. 2022 kl. 10:52
The (Outdated) is something I put on my mods when I'm no longer supporting them. It doesn't necessarily mean they don't work, just that I'm not actively making sure they still do.

As for Samurai Clothpants, there is no particular issue, they just don't have a colour map, so applying a colour does nothing to them. A modder would have to make one for them to be compatible.
Baccoo 22. nov. 2022 kl. 10:40
Just wanted to say that this mod still work perfectly fine for me to this date, no signs of being outdated.
I also like it more than Azazellz's to be honest, it's just so convenient to recruit your own professional with the perfect colour/race combination and in the same spot where you can also find lots of coloured items blueprint, in most cities. I'd correct the title!

One question as I'm starting to tinker with the FCS myself, what's the problem in making coloured samurai clothpants, they don't"dye" well? They're one of the best light pants in the game it would be awesome to have a coloured version of them!
Mack 4. feb. 2021 kl. 20:49
Nevermind, found it, but when it case time for shops t open, they just kept opening and closing the door repeatedly, and when I slipped in it considered it a crime and everyone in town started attacking me.
Mack 4. feb. 2021 kl. 20:29
Alright, just leaned about importing and how it works. Where would the dye people be in Squin so I know what to look out for? I'm on a Shek legion run and mainly work out of Squin.
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 4. feb. 2021 kl. 19:15
It will need an import generally. As it adds residents to towns. Though you should do so anyway whenever you add a mod to an existing save.
Mack 4. feb. 2021 kl. 18:30
Does this need an import or new game? Or can it just be slapped in and work fine in an ongoing game?
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 29. jan. 2021 kl. 10:42
Not likely to ever happen. Any of my mods marked as outdated are not being supported anymore, and will not be receiving updates.

If you want an alternate method for dyeing armour, there are other mods out there for it. And the vanilla game has systems of a sort for it, which more info can be found on the wiki. https://kenshi.fandom.com/wiki/Colour_Scheme

All of the color professionals got enslaved in Heft, is there a fix for this or should I just import?
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 5. nov. 2020 kl. 8:18
This was by popular demand, as users wanted hivers and skeletons to be recruitable from the shop.

I'm not supporting this mod anymore, but this is a super simple change, so here's a submod to disable it. https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2278080834
Pig ♡ 4. nov. 2020 kl. 20:38
Some of the slaves are hivers so I can't dye my hats/shirts/boots.
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 25. okt. 2020 kl. 7:46
Far as I know it should, yes. Though I'm not actively supporting it, so there might be an issue here or there.

Does This Still Work?
PickleFeasting 21. okt. 2020 kl. 20:12
Huh, I thought at least the cargo pants could but I suppose I was wrong. Thanks for the help!
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 21. okt. 2020 kl. 14:29
You're not doing anything wrong, just not using the correct items by the sounds of things. The game is very restrictive on what can and cannot be coloured.
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 21. okt. 2020 kl. 14:28
Neither of those pieces of clothing can be coloured in vanilla. There is a full list on the wiki of all items that can be coloured. https://kenshi.fandom.com/wiki/Colour_Scheme
PickleFeasting 21. okt. 2020 kl. 13:26
I do not think this is working anymore, unfortunately. At first, I attempted to dye my Gi Pants black. This did not work so I assumed these couldn't be died but however, even with cargo pants, the color did not change. Am I doing something wrong, because I'm equipping the clothes on the people in cages yet the color does not change.
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 21. apr. 2020 kl. 13:55
Should still work, as far as I know nothing about the process should have changed. The tag only means I'm not updating it, and currently have no plans for fixing it if it breaks.

Main issue is going to be the AI slavers stealing the workers from the shops.
No Mic Tweetus 21. apr. 2020 kl. 13:16
Hey, does this still work? I know it says outdated but the relative activity makes me think it might work.
Conspiracyphreak 15. feb. 2020 kl. 13:48
oh too bad.. but ty for reply ill try messing with that next time game crashes lol.
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 15. feb. 2020 kl. 12:06
No, it does not. That said, you could edit the relations via save editing, process is explained in this guide: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1370334383
Conspiracyphreak 15. feb. 2020 kl. 11:38
does this have a pacifier, i freed some slaves from the hub when holy nation had control, and my characters kinda went blood lust on the town when i was at my other town.....now they are hostile.
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 29. jan. 2020 kl. 12:28
Only reason it should not work is if the armour is either not colourable, or if the armour already has a colour applied.
Lil Miss 29. jan. 2020 kl. 12:23
to clarify, placing armour on the workers in the cages does nothing.
Lil Miss 29. jan. 2020 kl. 12:22
Confirmed not working.
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 8. jan. 2020 kl. 8:34
Should still work. I don't keep it updated, hence the outdated tag, but I can't see a reason why it wouldn't work. It would require an import yes. You should always import after installing or uninstalling any mod.
ufke 8. jan. 2020 kl. 8:06
does this mod stil work? if so does it need an import?
been to several towns (squin bad teeth stack blister worlds end) but havent been able to find anny shop or npc for colouration
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 30. sep. 2019 kl. 10:57
I mean, it should still function as a whole as far as I know. The "outdated" bit only means I'm not supporting it anymore, so it may have quite a few issues or incompatibilities with the base game.
pyatr 30. sep. 2019 kl. 6:40
So is this mod still working?
RefinedTrash 14. apr. 2019 kl. 16:27
Oooh, I see.

Well thanks again!
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 14. apr. 2019 kl. 16:21
I'd guess the devs changed the colour map for the legs since I took the screenshot, as it is a fairly old screenshot now and I never touched such things.
RefinedTrash 14. apr. 2019 kl. 14:27
Hey Shidan, first of all, great mod! its honestly an essential piece for my playthrough!
Secondly, really sorry for bothering you on a mod that you marked as outdated.

My question is regarding the Samurai armor. I noticed in the mod page screenshot, the colors are applied to the pants (Legplates) fully, while in my game, when I applied the colors to my samurai armor, only the straps bit on the leg armor is dyed and not the leg armor plating. The colors applied well on the helmet and chest piece though!

Was this an updated or has something gone wrong on my end?

Regardless, thanks you!
Karak 3. mar. 2019 kl. 12:58
Thank you greatly, helped out a lot in finding it.
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 3. mar. 2019 kl. 12:55
Visually it as a sign with a shirt on it, like a clothing store. But you'll see plenty of cages on top where they keep the slaves.

The way city residents work, I can't pick set locations. They'll just be randomly put into some towns. But I added them to all the main faction's lists.
Karak 3. mar. 2019 kl. 12:49
I mean is there a way you can say what places the shops are in? Or what the shop is called? It's hella difficult to look for it in a place like Clownsteady going off of "Adds a shop to most towns", could at least say what the shop is called.
Yolo$wagger 28. feb. 2019 kl. 9:56
@Shidan Thanks, I will try it out as soon as I gather a proper amount of followers, lol.

@Captain "u cant buy whole professionals at once or it will crash" What do you mean with that, whole professionals?
Balud Cornelius 27. feb. 2019 kl. 1:40
@yolo its still works but u cant buy whole professionals at once or it will crash
also if u buy slave from shitty holy faction make sure the skleton wightless so it wont die from these shitty holy faction
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 26. feb. 2019 kl. 11:36
Probably still works. Could be a few bugs here and there since I'm not maintaining it anymore, but I doubt it has completely broken.
Yolo$wagger 26. feb. 2019 kl. 11:31
So, does this mod still work properly?
Jekhar 23. feb. 2019 kl. 13:50
Still an awesome mod, like all your mods.
Unit-7 17. jan. 2019 kl. 11:30
Oh dang bro, that was fast. Thank you!! I sent you a message on reddit because I didnt expect you to reply so quickly, feel free to ignore it lol
Shidan  [ophavsmand] 17. jan. 2019 kl. 11:27
The Great Library in Black Scratch can carry it from time to time. :)
