I take it this mod still doesn't work anymore?
Patchy 6. nov. 2022 kl. 10:03
Anyone know how to get a working one?
X Æ A-12 10. juli 2020 kl. 8:27
Damn, another good looking mod down the drain.
MS-06S ZAKU II 28. mar. 2020 kl. 21:56
This may not ever be updated, so FYI this no longer works with 2.6- all sections will have no weapon slots.
Thomas Roderick 29. okt. 2019 kl. 21:36
For some reasons the hangar sections on the galleons contains less hangar slots than presented... Also, just from your screenshot alone, I think it's possible to tell that many sections doesn't exactly go with the description.
Thomas Roderick 4. sep. 2019 kl. 22:09
Any plans on updates?
Quiiliitiila 17. juli 2019 kl. 18:37
Is there any way to simply get the pirate ships as a ship-set? No one seems to have an update pirate ship-set anywhere...
Neverminder 12. juni 2019 kl. 8:24
if only, kale, if only
Mojibble 31. maj 2019 kl. 0:38
Does anyone know of an updated version of a pirate ship set?
FluffyVixen 30. mar. 2019 kl. 5:49
Could you please make a pirate ship style (graphical culture) fro player empires.
FluffyVixen 19. mar. 2019 kl. 12:58
Doesn't work properly for me. Pirate ships appear invisible in ship designer.
Bomb boy 23. feb. 2019 kl. 17:08
please update
Jono 19. jan. 2019 kl. 11:35
Is there any way to make this compatible with mods that add new component types like NSC or ESC?
Sovereign 7. dec. 2018 kl. 7:14
Update pls alot of the pirate mechanics has changed and its quite hard to find pirates now.
Maybe make the tech researchable by default or automatically unlocked if vanilla ship type tech is researched?
Zia 27. juni 2018 kl. 9:19
Would it be possible for one to have these as a nation's default?

@Axonum: The current condition for AI countries to create these ships is that they:
- Use less than 50% of their naval capacity.
- More than 10 energy credits are gained every month on balance.
- The timeout is not active. Which is double the time needed for players to build the ships and shared between all pirate ship types.
- The amount of ships is below the limit (this is per type). They can only have one galleon, 25 cruisers, 50 destroyers and 100 corvettes.

Only one ship will be build per month even if the conditions are met.

I've tested this pretty extensively and it should not disrupt the balance greatly, though running this mod with higher difficulty levels might give the AI enough energy and fleet capacity to use these conditions effectively.

I suggest adding a policy Pirate Ships enabled/disabled and same for your other mod Fallen Empire Ships enabled/disabled. By default, both are disabled. Enabling them will give opinion malus with other empires, example: if you use pirate ships, other empires get -20 opinion. If you use FE ships, fallen empires get -50 opinion.

Since these ships are stronger than the regular ship types, adding this to balance them will help prevent AI spam of these ship designs over normal ship designs and add some decision for players. AI empires should normally stay away from building these ships unless they are desperate.
KenYipTX 17. juni 2018 kl. 8:00
Is this NSC compatible?
Battlespark 1. juni 2018 kl. 16:14
Actually, all ya have to do is get a fleet space mod and it spreads your fleet out, no matter what ships ya use. ^^
BillBaraka 9. maj 2018 kl. 2:56
But the Ships smush! They Collide! They look like a giant, fused ball of debris and asteroids meanderning around the Galaxy! You zoom in and the Corvettes disappear into the gaping Maws of the Cruisers, behind which a hungry, twisted mass of Battleships awaits to eat them in turn. Somewhere in this putrid abomination: Destroyers.

;)

I do however totally Understand your reasoning. Which Mods would you suggest specifically?
Would a system-scaling Mod be compatible with alpha Mod?
Thank you in advance!
Kagerou 8. maj 2018 kl. 22:03
will you be able to play as a pirate?
Durandal 8. maj 2018 kl. 11:58
@ScepraX makes sense
ScepraX  [ophavsmand] 8. maj 2018 kl. 9:49
@BillBaraka: Most of my mods don't support Downscaled Ships because:
1. It's a bothersome implementation that breaks compatiblity with Vanilla, which is of course where my focus lies.
2. My main mod uses system scaling which works better, looks better and is natural compatible with other mods. I'd recommend everybody to use a mod that increases system scaling rather than downscaling the ships.
3. Because of the above reasons I don't use Downscaled Ships and therefor don't feel the need to support it.
BillBaraka 8. maj 2018 kl. 6:09
So these Ships are the regular, vanilla, giant, planet-esque Size? And there is no way to downscale them? Why would you do this, maaayyyn? :(
ScepraX  [ophavsmand] 8. maj 2018 kl. 4:52
@NocturneOfSolace: I though there were already several mods that did that, though it seems they're not up-to-date. It would require an different implementation from this mod and it would take quite some time to make the pirate ships match with the Vanilla section templates. For the users with access to Titans it would require a fifth pirate model which doesn't exist. It'd also be incompatible with mods that add new ship classes. I can't say i'm motivated to create one. Maybe try out Pirate Ships & Pirate Enclave 1.3 RUS/ENG ? Or wait for the shipset the creator of that mod might release.
Durandal 8. maj 2018 kl. 0:01
Is there any chance of this having a standalone version that is just a shipset? I really want to make a barbaric raider type empire
ScepraX  [ophavsmand] 4. maj 2018 kl. 4:32
@The Dark Emperor: Yes. It should be compatible with any mod that adds new ship classes. The only mod it's not compatible with is Downscaled Ships.
The Dark Emperor 3. maj 2018 kl. 14:38
NSC compatable?
Arkhangel 2. maj 2018 kl. 20:43
Yaaarrrr.
kelstr 2. maj 2018 kl. 19:10
Dude this is awesome !!
ScepraX  [ophavsmand] 2. maj 2018 kl. 15:13
@kelstr: Yes, but if the shipset doesn't contain turrets the pirate ships won't have any either. Additionally, you could add Fallen Empire ships and station as well through Fallen Empire Military Ships & Stations which works in exactly the same way as this mod does.
kelstr 2. maj 2018 kl. 14:30
So... you can have your unique ship set, PLUS add pirate ships to the mix as well?
Chastity the Celibate 2. maj 2018 kl. 13:39
Good mod 10/10
tilarium 2. maj 2018 kl. 11:05
I've seen other mods that let you build pirate ships but they just add them as a shipset. Going to add this to my list for the next game I start and give it a run. Love that they are in addition to your skill set and the requireing of tech research.
