Not at all, but I think I noticed where the issue is, all vanilla characters crash the game when they join me, this could be the reason why seto isn't joining

Do you have free character slots? In vanilla you can only have 30 characters, so if you already had that many she would fail to join even if you triggered the dialog.

greetings! there's an issue where the dialogue of seto joining plays and everything, but she simply doesn't join, does the mod conflict with genesis maybe? i imported the save when using the mod and tried without importing as well

luckily i saved it before hand but the third time was the charm didn't change a single mod in my library. but it worked it was just a little finicky i guess but thank for the advice. now off to recruit all the other unique recruits. thanks again.

Dialog crashes are typically a mod failing to render something correctly. I would suggest backing up your mods.cfg file, then disabling mods to test and identify which mod it is.

Thanks for your response! I actually copied your mod and changed the lines directly. Since I initially intended to keep it for personal use, I decided to do it this way. I'm quite new to this and wasn't sure how to make a separate mod, so I just edited the original directly while testing.

Depends on how you made the translation. If you modified my lines using a separate mod, then your mod would require mine. While if you copied my mod and changed the lines in it directly, it would run on its own.

Either way is fine though, I don't mind regardless.

Should be no side effects from removing it post-recruitment. All it changes is dialog you will never trigger again at that point.

This fixed the dialogue issue but broke portraits in dialogue at least with the shek so far, could be a potential mod conflict so I wouldnt trip too hard on your end.
What are the possible implications for removing this after recruiting seto?

If all you say is "no work", I can't do anything about it, and will have to just ignore your problem and assume you just did something incorrectly.

I've found a workaround with the mod disabled. Prior talking to Esata and giving them the bugmaster is important to have space in the squad.

Having less than 20 characters in the squad seems to trigger the recruit correctly.

Yes, you need to install the mod prior to speaking with Esata. Or you need to import.

Esata's dialog can only trigger once per import.

I defeated the bugmaster and took the 100,000 cats reward. The Stone Golem said "Take my daughter" or something like that but I was unable to recruit Seto.

After installing the mod I tried talking with both the Golem and Seto but no dialogs are triggered.

Do I need to have installed the mod and then give them the bugmaster afterwards to make the mod work?

If you believe it is broken, then please post your save so I can test it. As on my end it works fine, both vanilla and with the mod on.

And you're not an ally of the Holy Nation, United Cities, Traders Guild, or Slave Traders? Being an ally of any of those factions will disable the dialogs, both in vanilla and the mod.

The update barely touched the game itself, very unlikely it broke any mods.

And you were not an ally of the Holy Nation, United Cities, Traders Guild, or Slave Traders? Because that is the only thing that should ever stop the dialog from triggering.

The bug that used to exist that this mod was made to fix was an issue with Seto's dialog not triggering afterward.

Without knowing what's breaking and where, I can't do much to make a fix for this possible new scenario. I would need the dialogue logs from your first conversation with Esata, or better yet a save file to test on. Because she works fine on my end.

Hi Shidan. My problem is the same as Diabetus, I had over 80 rep from bounties when I first talked to Esata, but sadly no discussion about Seto from her.

I then put your mod, tried again by exiting the game/reloading before talking to her, but no changes so I thought I needed to bring an Inquisitor.
I just handed Inquisitor Seta to Bayan, and Esata is just talking about how I should go and attack Okran's Shield now that Stack and Bad Teeth are down, but no mentions about Seto.

So can you post a screenshot of the dialog log from after playing the dialog (available as a tab when you open the map)? That would show me exactly where it is breaking, so I could identify why it's breaking.

First of all, I appreciate the quick response. I have 100 relations with the Shek, had 50 and captured a big bounty for them which raised to 100, at which point Seto appeared at HQ, but then things unfold as I explained. Now I do have Real Politik and Living World active, but since Seto appeared as normal and the dialogue with Esata triggers regardless I thought things were fine.

@Diabetus - Sounds to me like you probably don't meet the requirements for the dialog, as the dialog is not broken in vanilla anymore, and the mod should not be needed in the first place.

Which is to say you need 80 relations or higher with the Shek Kingdom, and are not an ally of the Holy Nation, United Cities, Traders Guild, or Slave Traders.

Or you need 35 relations or higher, are not an ally of any of those factions, and you have defeated the Bugmaster or the Phoenix.

It seems this mod has stopped working. For me, it actually does the opposite of what's intended, it prevents Esata's dialogue about her daughter's backstory from appearing, furthermore I can't talk with Seto, not even without the mod. Any ideas?

Just nabbed bugmaster, and last time I did this I didn't get the option for recruit, so we'll see what happens this time.

Don't know what to tell you, first I've ever heard of that issue. But it sounds like the game thinks our party is too big. Maybe another mod affecting it? Try grabbing 256 recruitment limit and sticking it at the bottom of your load order. If it's a party size conflict from another mod, that would solve it.

Grab the phoenix and meet Esata. And Esata introduced me to Seto. But Esata kept saying 'there is no place for the squad'. In the end I couldn't get her

An import would refresh the dialog. And should still allow you to get her. You'd just have to go talk to Esata again.

I saved after i should have had the dialogue, i thought i just needed to find her but that took a while, can is till get her now?

I managed to get around the issue by importing without dead NPCs afterwards and (because of the rep rewarded from turning in Phoenix and subsequently becoming allied) managed to get to it to work via the alliance dialogue sequence. I really appreciate the quick response, I only wish I'd checked back to see that you responded so quickly, as that would've saved me loads of time troubleshooting Once again, I really appreciate it and I'm sure it will help anyone else that was in my shoes!
