Yes, about a year ago I updated the map to be more accurate, but something in it caused this to stop working. It happened the first time I made it and I fixed it then, but my computer has since broken, forcing me to stop updating this project. I won't be able to fix it again for at least another two months. I apologize for this. Oddly, it still worked on my computer back when I had one. If what I think is wrong is the case, I may be able to get this back up sooner by hooking up my portable hard drive to one of my friend's computers. If it works, I could have something as early as tomorrow, best case scenario.

None of these Huge maps (From any of you all) show up in game. At all, even after being enabled there is no way to select it (It does not show up int he lists with the other maps), Very disapointed with all of these. :( Really had my hopes up for a full Map.

I will agree that this map is a little out of date and still needs tweaking. I haven't worked on it in a very long time. There are more Middle Earth maps out there now than there used to be, so I've put this on the backburner. Maybe I'll come back to it another time.

You open Civ V in steam, choose mods at the opening menu, check the circles for the mods you want, then go on like that from there. First though, you have to install this mod, which you do by subscribing.

Multiplayer doesn't work period with mods. As for working to fix it, it's been a while, but I have tried covertly. I have a job again now, and am currently away from a constant source of internet, so I'm sorry that it's taking so long.

Have you working on the issue of not getting the map in the list after successfully subscribed the mod? Also, it says it works with multiplayer too, but I ain't getting any options for that....
I was really looking forward trying this mod but since I doesn't show up in map list I'm kinda disappointed.

Not sure why, but map isn't showing up in the list. Subscribed and added in mod section but no luck. I have G&K with a laundry list of mods enabled, are there any mods it's known to be incompatible with?

It was probably up earlier and I simply hadn't noticed. Anyway, this is it with some fixes, so woot. If you don't have G+K, you can now use the map anyway, though I wish that I could put in truffles. The books reference mushrooms directly. Oh well.

Mello; as stated earlier. U can edit the map yourself. If ur running windows download the Civ V SDK. Or PC and Mac download and install "Ingame editor" I use both Mac & PC and prefer the "Ingame editor". It allows u to edit every element of the game while playing. Ambassador u put alot of work into this map. I enjoy using it. And don't mind editing resourses myself. Thxs

I have looked at other resource tiles across the map, and every strategic resource only gives 1 yield. I'm doing well enough without them so far, so I'll continue with my game, but in the long run it needs to be corrected.

I am very excited for the LOTR civs. The only real LOTR civ I have ever seen is the ill-fated Rohan one, and another one has not been posted for quite some time. I have thought about making these civs myself, but sadly, I am an idiot when it comes to coding, and therefore cannot mod :(. I have however thought a bit about the unique units, unique buildings, bonuses, and leaders quite a bit. If you need any help with those, I'm the man. If possible, some civs I would think are interesting are Arnor, Eriador/Bree-Land, and The Shire (The Shire would be fun to play as). Also, on a completely unrelated note, I think a Dalek civilization would be AWESOME for a fellow whovian like me to play as.

For those using a Mac, Install "In Game Editor v36". With this u can change, modify, or correct anything u don't like about a map or senerio. While playing the game. PC users have SDX editor DLC.

I did what King Wizard did and the mod now shows up properly for me, and I'm playing a game in it. One issue though: the resources I've come across only have 1 available. For example, the iron I've mined gave me one iron, and the horses gave me one horse, etc. I don't know if this was intentional or just a random factor the game created. For all I know, it's just bad luck, and other resource locations in the game may have higher yields. We'll see.

Don't worry, there will be eleven races at least. Including the leaders Saruman, Sauron, Theodin, and Elendil.

It could be that they like dwarves and hold a grudge that they got put to sleep just because the elves couldn't be finished fast enough. After all that work, a faction of the elves still broke off and started killing the others as they tried to get away from the perfect world. So they like to be high and mighty but they had everything handed to them and it still wasn't enough.

Mods cannot be played in multiplayer at all. I dislike it too, sorry.

Thanks. There was another huge version made by someone else before this, but I didn't like it much. That's pretty much why I made this. That and the fact that I remembered the map editor from civ III and how excited I was when I had found out about it.

Fun fact: I have a friend who is racist against elves in real life. Possibly two, come to think of it. I wonder why elves make people rage so much. Dramatic negative elf related experiences?

To be honest, the original map was made on a whim. I didn't expect it to get this big. Now that it has, however, I'm planning on making it worthy of the position. As for Mordor, Sauron will have a few tricks up his sleeves. Also, mordor is quite resource heavy. I've been debating making it more so, but I'm focussing on other map changes for now. I was pretty sure Rivendell was either grassland or plains in the mountains, but I'll double check. Thanks for the feedback.

and true being how lake town and riverndale is tundra as well... coast is wrong, the rivers are wrong.. most the map is wrong. Looks like you got bored one day and slopped a slop together

The map didn't show up for me at first so I went to C:\Users\[youruser]\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5 and copied the "Huge Middle Earth (v 3)" folder from the "MODS" folder to the "Maps" folder and the map showed up in game.

It can only be used if you have Gods and Kings until my next update actually uploads
