Was there a request to overwrite the original files?

installed the VPK, and did the command. Still the mod wasnt working.

everytime it does the voicelines it says the rwby voices and then after it sayed it was static voicelines

I reworked the install instructions and changed their location to the collection page.
As it is the same process for all characters i think it's a better place for them.

just have one more question on this topic and i might be able to finish this up. when i extract the voices they are in seperate folders (for example the ruby voices that i extracted from GCF were L4D2 and L4D2_dlc1 but the pyrrha voices were DLC 2 and 3). if i move them all into the same folder do i have to remember where each one goes and split them up manually again? or do i make a copy of all 4 voices and and make an overwrite of all 4 folders even if some of the characters only had afew folders? Sorry im a real noob to modding,

You can install only 1 if you want, but i recommend to install all 9 packages.
Extract them 1 by 1 and then copy the extracted folder (e.g. left4dead2_dlc1) into one temporary folder.
This way you have to overwrite your original game files just once and also the cache creation need to be done just once.

can i only have 1 of the voices installed at a time? i tried opening multiple voice files on the program and it said it closed the old one and loaded the other.

the vpk files are in your l4d2 folder.
D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\addons\workshop
This is where it's on my system, it could be different on yours, e.g. on C drive.
But before the vpk are there you need to start the game once after subscription and download.

i dont understand how to install this. im a modding noob. i hit subscribe and i got the GCFscape but i dont know how to find these vpk files nor do i know how to put them in the folder and replace them. I got the characters but i really ant the voices and it sucks that i cant figure out this damn thing.

The game won't respond for a cupple of minutes thats normal.
It's depending on your hardwar and how many threads you have running in the backround.
I recommend: Don't tab out, and stop every not necessary program before start, if you have any error during it.
If you just close the game i asume the cache file will be brocken and the game will load a temp backup to replace the broken one. So... i think it won't corrupt your installation of l4d2 but i can't promise.
If it currept the files just do a verify integrity via steam, this will fix whatever cache file might be broken.

So my game isn't responding when I typed in the command. Is it okay to close, or would that corrupt some files?

Aha I got it to work. What I did was just extracted from GCFScape the left4dead2_dlc2 to my desktop, and did the same for 3. Then I just moved them to .../common/Left 4 Dead 2. Works great and the sounds are good. Thanks!

you don't have to. But i would say its the easiest way... Download all workshop items, unpack them. all into one folder
There should be all folder from point 3 afterwards in this temp folder.
And these for folders should now copied and overwritten the official ones in ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2

I still only have Bill's voice. So when I open it up with GCFScape, what is the process from there?
I have another voice pack installed for Coach and I tried that same process with this to no avail. So are you saying I have to extract left4dead2_dlc2 and left4dead2_dlc3 separately to a plain folder, and then place the folder into steam/steamapps/common/Left 4 Dead 2/left4dead2?

all vpk should be extracted together on the same temp folder. After this simple copy and overwrite the coresponding folders in your l4d2 directory.

You could always verify your L4D2 files through steam.
-> Right click on your game in Steam library
-> Propertys
-> local files
-> verify game files (game integrity)

All changed files will be replaced by the original game-files.
If you want a backup of your workshop-files, zip "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\addons"

It's much more difficulty to install than a workshop map or texture indeed. But unfortunately there is no other way (as far as i know) to install voice mods, cause they overwrite gamefiles with the "snd_rebuildaudiocache" command.

ive put the numbers in install step 2 for every replace and in the text for the collection.

could you put the ''.vpk'' file's numbers in these mods as well, would make the installing the content much easier
