all i have to say is it's a gold shotgun so yeah i want this to be an ingame item

i really like the idea, but imo i think it'd be better to keep the receiver it's original gray color while the barrels stay gold, as it might come off as tacky as it looks right now

From what I understoood, everything has to be it's own submission, but if putting everything into one pack is allowed, that's what I will do for the rest of them.

While the australiums may not be the most original, they are just a part of something that my concept artist and I are working on right now. I don't want to say too much. All I'll say is we're calling this project The Gray Gauntlet, and it's going to be a pitch for an update that would be a true test of skill and be a fun, rewarding experience for those who take to the challenge.

Okay, sounds fair, but why spamming it into 10 different submissions? Couldn't just make one? You had to spam it?
Also, compared to the other skins, this work is just simple.

I think what people seem to be forgetting is that though the idea of australiums may not be original, this isn't about originality. This is about desire. If Valve were to create new australiums, let alone good, new, mvm content, they'd have done it a long time ago.

They didn't, yet the community has over time expressed desire for new australiums to be added. These australiums? Completely original in their making. The PDA, which took the longest of all to make, is original in itself in the sense that there <isn't> an australium variant of it already.

If we wanted to talk about originality, then the idea of warpaints should be at the top of our list. I've seen the workshop flooded with warpaint ideas, but besides that, Valve insists that warpaints (which most of the time aren't even stranges) are the way to go. But, we're not talking originality. Like I said, this is about desire. Specifically, the community fulfilling its desire, even if others are stuck on primitive arguments.

And Extra Ram, the workshop doesn't necessarily have to be about originality. At the end of the day, it's about doing the work so that Valve doesn't have to.

I want MvM content. A lot of people want MvM content. If people make the content for them then there's less excuse for them not to give us an update.

It's not like I'm void of any originality either. Whether you like the australium PDA or not, the point does stand that a PDA that builds skinned buildings is a more original idea. I've also got a couple of great ideas for taunts planned.

There is more to it than just VMTs, you dolt. Like I literally just said, if you just change the phong in the VMT, you'll just end up with a gloss over the whole item. You actually have to edit the textures and alpha channels in the texture itself. Do some actual research before you talk shit and make an ass of yourself.

You defending the fact you copypasted vmt's into workshop and comparing it to making items? Really?

There's a little bit more to making australium skins than just changing the phongwrap. The textures need to be colored over and the alpha channel needs to be edited to make the correct parts shine. It takes just as much work as any other skin on the workshop. The fact that someone with over 100 workshop submissions doesn't understand that must be some sort of elaborate joke.

I mean, as impressive as it is that you've gone through all this effort to make all these weapon variants available, as well as the thought of them being submitted to the workshop, I'm afraid to say that this is a bit of a wasted opportunity to be submitting something that really wasn't your idea to begin with.

If Valve was to add new Australiums in the future, more than likely it'll be Valve that decides on what'll be added and not so much what someone in the workshop's made. Because you're posting what's obviously Valve-owned assets onto vanilla and community-made guns in the hopes that Valve notices, instead of offering us the new content that could be made available to us in new maps & campaigns, I'm afraid atm you're just flooding the workshop with shiny things to get noticed.

Some kind of giant flying drone would be cool too.

I'd rather it be mvm. I really want to see some new tours and some new robots. It'd be cool to see a new type tank that actually acts like a tank. As it rolls toward the point it fires powerful shots at the players.

I have plans for another batch of australiums for the future, but not until I take a break. This batch took about 100 hours in total, and a lot of it had to do with the PDA. All of those gibs and different levels were a nightmare to do lol.

The next batch will have the pistol, the crusader's crossbow, the diamondback, and the dragon's fury just to name a few.
